I think the P12 ARGB is the way to go, its basically a premium/higher quality versin of the P12 with overall slightly worse performance especially in the higher RPM's, but while being slightly quieter, so overall very similar performance but higher quality and ARGB. Good video! Now we just need and explaination of the Bionix series :^)

@@TimberWulfIsHere The noise to performance ratio is arguably superior due to no humming noise and the quieter fan overall. Also, you get RGB and a way higher build quality. I don't think the fan has a bad price to performance ratio compared to the normal p12, especially if you are looking for RGB.

  • @plagabber

One big point you should also be talking about is the humming noise you will get with the P12, so for the most comfort (least problems) you should go for the P12 ARGB/RGB version because they fixed it with this version.

Did you have the chance to test the P14/ F14 lineup?? I wonder if the trend continues. Great video!!

This is a very good video. Can you please consider investing in a cardioid lapel microphone or a dynamic mic on an arm, like the Shure SM7b or similar? It would improve the overall impression a lot because you capture to much of the room reverb with the setup used in this video. Speech intelligibility suffers somewhat. Keep up the good work!

Been using them since the Arctic 34 with 1 fan came out.
Currently have a Duo laying as a reserve if the LF2 fails.

The biggest difference between the P14 and F14 blade geometries is not the forward curve or "bending", but the "angle of attack" of the Blade.
This is the most important technical metric besides rpm when designing application specific Fans. I thought it would be nice if you can inlcude these technical terms in further Reviews. Although i appreciate that your methods are already very professional and in-depth.
It is the same angle of Attack as on airplane wings, that make them better for fast flying or better for take-off.
A higher angle of attack will always generate more airflow, similar to a high lift wing on takeoff. But it will also require more power and make the airplane fly slower (=less fan rpm).
A lower angle of attack will always create more pressure and tends to enable higher RPMs within the same power envelope as it has to move less air.
The forward curving of the fan blades is not important for the overall throughput or noise levels. But it creates a more uniform flow distribution along the fans cross section, improving performance on radiators and cpu heatsinks. Higher rpm requires a higher forward curve, so the P series needs a higher bend for the same effect. Fans without forward curved blades, like the NZXT ones or a Noctua S12 will have much less airflow near the Hub.
There are also backward curved Fan bloadeslike the Verax CairDB Fans, but these are more of a mixture of axial and radial Fans with most airflow diagionally away from the fans motor hub.

Soooo, if I want to daisy-chain two of Arctic's fans, can I cheat a little? As in:
Get a P14 PWM PST and the cheaper regular P14 PWM fan, daisy-chain them and badabing badaboom they both work at the wanted/custom rpm?
Or do I need to go for two of the PST models for them to work as intended?

I'm not sure if this have been mentioned in the vid but IIRC this works with P12 so I believe it would be the same for the P14

Yeah sure, nothing is stopping you. I've done this many times.
Just keep in mind that if you are mixing fans of different speeds. Each fan will run at its own % of whatever its max speed is. And the read-out in RPM inside your software will only be coming from the first fan.

      @STSYT  2 роки тому +1

Sw4 140HS or lw140 non-hs if you want the rgb. (Sw4 140hs if you ask me)
Theoretically, a12x25 would have a better noise-to-performance ratio above 25% fan speed, but if you pair it with a decent cooler the difference will be absolutely 0.
In our benchmarks you’ll be able to see a difference, but that’s such a ridiculous overexaggeration. The up price isn’t wort it, cause you’ll never have that type of heat in the real world.

Im not so sure, but i think you didnt include fan speed (p12 vs f121). The F12 rotation speed is less then P12, and it still only 2C behind P12. So, if they can spin in the same speed, that will be the best comparison. Maybe you can limit speed of P12 to match F12 speed, and then test it. Static pressure fans like P12 are mostly for heat sinks and radiators. They are louder also. The case fans are suppose to have less noise with lower RPM because they are more then one, or two mounted in the case. My have 6 of them. So, can you imagine to put 6 P12 in my case. That will be much louder. But one or two for push pull on the heat sink, i can handle that. In my conclusion, germans are not stupid. They know very well why they make F12 for, and the same think for P12. Your testing metodology is not good in my opinion. Best regards from Serbia :)

if you want to achieve one of the best air cooling with argb you need to get the artic fan hub and argb controller. the fans with the temp sensor is for dual chamber case. i have one in the middle intersection so when the other chamber heats up from all the Hdd activity the fan will spin faster. try not to mix argb brands or you will get a headache with each brand having their own rgb software.
