    You have the patience of a saint to deal with all that, mine has had some intermittent issues but nothing major and nothing that has held me back, thanks for the info.

    THANK YOU. Having just ordered one I've had the same nagging concern that I got hoodwinked by a bunch of influencer shills... but have since found a number of videos pointing out a number of issues with grounding, electrical feedback, etc. As long as I know how to fix issues and what they might be, we're all good at this price point. So seriously... THANK YOU for your in depth list of troubleshooting and honest review. I probably would have tossed the thing long before solving the issue and putting that much time in, so it is much appreciated that you are sharing your experience to save others the efforts. If I was in charge of Customer Service and Langmuir I'd be sending you every upgrade I could for free. You single handedly added to their troubleshooting knowledge and paid the price with your time, that's worth something. Cheers to you! Fingers crossed I'm not ending up in the same boat.

      I’d say the odds are in your favor, @@LorenCox . And I’ve heard that they’ve increased QC, but, that’s come mostly from the fan-boy community, and not necessarily based on anything tangible. Anyway, thank you for the kind words. Here’s hoping your ownership experience is smooth. It’s a fantastic machine when everything is working.

      I hope they have, too, @@GiletheCarGuy. I know a few people who have purchased these and never got them cutting. Anything that falls under the “EMI” umbrella seems to be an excuse for these guys to throw their hands up, though…

    Appreciate your honesty.
    I was reminded of your original video by your flashback today, as I'm spending some time today contemplating a black friday order and checking utube for info. Like others stated, I'd prefer this to be plug and play, but as you stated, enter this with eyes wide open.
    Also appreciate your patience. I've gravitated to the persona of my old man, and the troubles you experienced would probably push me over.
    I may have missed it, but how long has it been since you got the new electronics box?
    Agree with you on the forum; I should probably be surfing through that too.

    i went through a similar issue as you ... spent tons of hours with a cool guy named Tom on the phone and did many hours of trouble shooting after new motors and z axix motors i said i am done send me a new control box they did and problem solved took about two weeks of screwing around .... you have much more patience then me now its great 5,500 cuts so far working great

    • @crazycaseyscustoms
      @crazycaseyscustoms  3 місяці тому

      Interesting, @@richsharp1524. Did they ever get back to you about what was wrong with your control box? They promised me they’d test mine once they got it back in house, and get back to me with some info, but when I followed up a month later they said they had “tested” it to be bad, conclusively, but that they couldn’t remember what the issue was. 🤦‍♂️ Tom was who helped me, as well; very cool guy, and a wealth of knowledge. I asked him for the replacement control box a couple of times, and he just wouldn’t sign off on it. It wasn’t until several of the regulars on the forum started tagging Langmuir on my 800-something post thread that they finally stepped up. The only thing I can think to add is that this all unfolded in the weeks after they were purchased by Shop Sabre, so that all may have had something to do with their unwillingness to send out replacement parts. Thanks for the comment, Rich!

    I've had my 4x8 XR for 16 months now. I have had a couple of minor problems, that I called customer support for. I have had excellent service from them and the issue was always fixed over the phone. One of the reasons for going with the XR is the phone support, no emails going back and fourth. Sorry you had all the problems, I would most likely just burned it down before going through all that. I'm not much on patience LOL

      Yes, my first video goes into the difference in support between the Pro and the XR, of which I was not aware until my table showed up with some incorrect parts, @@donsamford6026. If I had the room I would love to have the bigger table, but I am out of space in my little shop.

    A lesson in staying calm. I’m not sure I would have had your patience. Your example is exactly why I chose to build my own plasma cnc based on JD. Not for the reason of saving a few bucks but for growing my knowledge incrementally. I had several and severe issues with my build and before it was functional it had grown a lot away from JD. Today it’s working as a stable asset in my business and I learned a lot giving me the ability to maintain and repair everything that possibly will happen- (and the machine is still in development and will probably always be😊)

    • @crazycaseyscustoms
      @crazycaseyscustoms  2 місяці тому

      Well, @@nicola3444, where you’ve got me beat is with the electronics side of things: the stepper drivers, and the rest of the brains. That’s all Langmuir’s proprietary “voodoo” on mine, and if it ever fails again (which I’m sure it will at some point), I won’t really know where to start. I learned a good deal about CNC machines in general, and CNC plasma cutting in particular, but not enough about the inner workings of the controller, to really feel comfortable leaning on this piece of equipment the way I do my manual machines…

    Casey, I'm sorry you went through all of this frustration and expense. However there are many crossfire pro's that have little to no issues. I've owned mine for 3 years and have never had an issue that wasn't user induced (by me) 😅
    Hopefully now that you have your issues solved, you will get many years of use. I love my crossfire pro and it was a game changer in my dyi do it all shop.
    Regards,

      Thank you for the comment, @@mikearmstrong7866. I can’t dispute anything you’ve said. There are many, and dare I say likely even the vast majority of these machines that function without issue. That said (and I only feel qualified to make this comment because I’ve been personally contacted by so many of them), there are a LOT of these machines that DO have issues. And while that isn’t even necessarily all that troubling, it’s the presumption that if you’re having issues (namely EMI), that it’s somehow your fault (or the fault of your setup), that I take issue with, after going through my experience with Langmuir’s customer service. I didn’t make this video to scare people away from Langmuir Systems. I stated more than once that my overall experience has been positive. I just put it out there so that people would know what issues do exist, and what the process to resolve them might look like.
      Anyway, thank you again for the comment, and I am truly glad that your experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

    Talk about determination! Sadly, for everything you replaced/added you could have probably bought/rebuilt something really nice. I am the type that if I spend money on something like this I expect it to work out of the box. If I wanted what you went through, I would have saved the money and time waiting on someone to get back to me by just building a JD-Garage version.

      @crazycaseyscustoms  3 місяці тому

      For the amount of work I went through, @@Scheistermeister, that would have been a better option. I told myself (initially) that I didn’t want to go the JD-Garage route, because I didn’t want to have to learn EVERYTHING there was to learn about plasma cutters and CNC machines. 😊 Joke’s on me. 😂
