When you said that Perseus slides on through the skies I couldn't help but imagine his Hermes sandals being some god forsaken Heelys-sandal hybrid and him just Heely'ing in the sky or just sliding around on the ground at like 30 mph. I can't get this mental image out of my head and it will most likely cause me another sleepless nights.
the minotaur rock bit and the comment of "what a hero" is interesting, it shows why certain tropes exist, like heroes getting clean kills sometimes in spite of logistics, and what stories were like before them, also i guess accidental patricide was a common heroic theme too lol
Alexander the Great, before finishing T-posing all over Greece to assert his dominance, has a battle of wits with the 'scholarly' Diogenes. Meanwhile, the Minotaur, Asterius, is not only an amazing boss design in Shin Megami Tensei 4, but also makes an amazing Persona for Labrys whenever she's in her new 'Shadow Labrys' mode in Ultimax.
I really enjoy this episode. I used to be super into Greek mythos when I was way younger, and it's always interesting to get more information on some of these stories. That, and hearing anything about Diogenes is always fun.
Hey a quick lesson from a Greek language student, the reason Minos is pronounced Minus is because there are two O sounds in Greek, omicron and omega, omicron is more like a traditional O sound but omega, which is the O in Minos, actually sounds somewhere between an O and a U so neither a straight O or U sound is quite accurate
Also, hey Aleks. Ya'know, I have weird dreams too sometimes. The problem is that it's often difficult for me to write them down because I always sleep like shit and by the time I can muster the energy to get my laptop open and a text document (it actually boots pretty quickly), I've already lost like fuckin' half of it. I also sometimes have dreams that I just don't fucking care about so I never write them down even if I have the chance, and there's often little cohesion and sometimes I'll become aware that I am in fact dreaming, so it turns into a formula of coasting along with what's going on for a little bit before trying to do something out of the ordinary, which basically never works, and I always end up waking up some time after catching on in an unstoppable fashion. Like most people from what I've read will say their dreams get hazier and hazier until they come to, but with me I blink and it's "God damn it now I'm awake.". I was wondering how that compares and contrasts to your experiences. I don't actually expect that you care about any of that shit because it's fucking boring listening to people talk about their dreams unless they're Aleks, from the hit podcast Let Me Tell You About (I certainly can't spin a series of events that ends in Zapp Brannigan fighting a giant space chicken before turning into a generic anime character into an interesting story). I just thought I'd say it anyway because I'm that kind of asshole. And before anyone asks, no, that thing with Zapp Brannigan wasn't nearly as interesting as it might sound, as far as I remember. Maybe if I could remember it more clearly I could do something with it, but them's the breaks. My dreams (when I remember them anyway, I just as easily have long periods where I don't remember shit) tend toward having the flow of an episode of Robot Chicken, and I haven't been able to change that.
keep a dream journal next to your bed and write as soon as you wake up that's the best way to retain everything, because as you just move around and do your morning routine your brain begins the dumping process and tosses out all the useless information.
I do try, it's just that it's a file on a laptop that's in arm's reach instead of a physical notebook because I've never really gotten along with physically writing and I'd be at risk of not being able to see anything since sometimes when I get up it's just that dark. In any case, thanks for the answer.
@@Aleks251 So hey, I have a follow question if you don't mind. I don't remember if i asked or if I did what you said, but even if I did ask your situation may have changed. Do you go lucid particularly often, and if you do do you prefer to take control of the situation or just roll with what you've been dealt and see where it goes?
when i was browsing shitposts my friends make while listening to the podcast and one of them said big bang theory made a homestuck episode and im to afraid to see if he is lying just encase it actualy exists
I cant be the only person who reversed their voices for the longest fucking time, right? I always think Aleks' nerdyass is tad. Its probably the glasses
Diogenes was so smart because he was in a constant state of post-nut clarity.
NoFappers BTFO
Watching this while taking a thunder dump wish me luck

If I found out I was conceived like that... I'd be pissed

"I WILL FIND HIM, I WILL CAPTURE HIM, AND NO ONE WILL EVER DIE AGAIN." - Sisyphus
also cant wait for lmtya corona
"I'm gonna be real guys, I think he might have just been a crazy old man."
Well to be fair, you need a pretty high IQ to understand Diogenes
as they say genius and insanity are linked
Finally. Greece.....or at the very least Greek Mythology. I of course haven’t listened to the whole thing yet but great episode as always.
I want to hear Alecks talk more about mythology. This is priceless.
I'm always shooting my goo for Diogenes
Plato and Diogenes being compared to Goku and Vegeta is a good comparison.
This podcast continues to be a comedy goldmine. You're rivalling Castle Super Beast with these A1 names.
You can't fool me Tad, I listened to this episode on the website before you uploaded it here.
on the website, google play, iTunes, Spotify and wherever you listen to podcasts!
Yo I need a part 2, I'm familiar with these stories, but boi when you describe them it's great

Epic, gonna love this.
"He swooces right in"
Little did we know, Asterios was foreshadowing Tad shilling for the Jacked Podcast staring Asterios Kokkinos
Oh come one that ain't fair I was JUST about to go to sleep
Same
Important note, diogenes apparently pissed on those who opposed him
Get Joe Buckley back on the podcast. Get Ryan to guest star if you can.
When aleks talks about a lot of the stories Overly Sarcastic did🤔 (but makes it just as interesting)
To be fair they've covered a LOT of stories
Aleks TRUE but I see you -_- (I actually really do love these episodes and I hope you guys keep going or even more ones like the hp love craft one❤️)
Round 3 of more history, let's go!
Diogenes was indeed the greatest contrarian to ever live.
Gotta love Conquistador Quest Gaiden: Athenean Chronicle
Diogenes a philosopher i can relate to
There's alot of Roman madlads out there. It would be great if you could do an episode on them.
7:54 So it would be fair to say, metaphorically, that the check bounced and he's a dead motherfucker?

Why was Diogenes never arrested or punished for being such a nuisance? Were there no laws against public masturbation, or pissing on others?
I like how PewDiePie was talking about Diogenes a week ago and now you guys are. Jokes aside I love these history shitpost podcasts.
This video is where you find emptiness
This, but unironically
Diogenes and Carl Pilkington team up and fucking act obnoxious to the world.
Can you guys do one about Genghis Khan?
Diogenes watches rick and morty
When Karl Pilkington is in the thumbnail, you know you are in fo some shit.
when i was browsing shitposts my friends make while listening to the podcast and one of them said big bang theory made a homestuck episode and im to afraid to see if he is lying just encase it actualy exists
What did the Minotaur even do wrong?
Eat a bunch of children
I cant be the only person who reversed their voices for the longest fucking time, right?
I always think Aleks' nerdyass is tad. Its probably the glasses
You could do a whole episode on Karl Pilkington.
Why is this video tagged Rome?
that title tho XD
I absolutely love Karl Pilkington, wish they continue the animated series.
Smart ass comment: Isn't something negative BC be just AD because a negative times negive a positive
For a min i thought this was karl pilkington. Oh well goodbye
This is entertaining as hell, but dear god you don't know Geography
Is it possible diogenes had down syndrome
basao
First
Not cool...using Carl Pilkingtons perfectly round head in the thumbnail and not having him in the video. Now I'm sad
should have finished the video
Why Carl?
