One-hundred percent resonate with your adding more challenge to hunts. In a world obsessed with technology, I too find myself using it less and gravitating more to the old ways. I recently acquired my late uncles ‘66 Bear recurve and plan on using that instead of my compound this season. I’ve been teaching myself instinctive shooting and it’s brought so much more joy to shooting.
Just found your channel and really like it. I’m 68 and which back to a long bow last year. I am really enjoying being challenged by the traditional bow hunt. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Traditional archery, and the people I have met in this community, has been very influential to my journey to being a better person. Man did I have a lot of room for improvement, still do. Great video. We all need to strive to be better. Thanks Ethan.
I won’t be switching to trad for deer but I really do love it for bow fishing, recurve no sights, however mastering myself has become relevant in a more spiritual and personal sense. Calm the wildness and put things away so I can grow as a man.
Seeing people with your attitude and mentality towards hunting is imo what hunting should be all about. Sadly it seems there are fewer and fewer people these days that approach hunting like this. I started traditional bowhunting 4 years ago and I can't get enough. To me it is what hunting should be all about. Most people I try to share it with look at me like I am crazy. Good luck this fall. Happy Hunting from northeast Missouri!
@@awesomepumashoes deer have a sense of smell that is hundreds of times better than ours. They live their life around smell and it’s how they communicate. If deer are down wind of you they will small you no matter what. So always hunt with the wind in your face blowing from the animals toward you and you’re golden.

Why is it bad to go on the hunt even if the wind is not the best?
