One-hundred percent resonate with your adding more challenge to hunts. In a world obsessed with technology, I too find myself using it less and gravitating more to the old ways. I recently acquired my late uncles ‘66 Bear recurve and plan on using that instead of my compound this season. I’ve been teaching myself instinctive shooting and it’s brought so much more joy to shooting.
@@jesserichardson2519 the reward is un matched. Best of luck to you!

It was a good shot. You need to go watch John Shulz’s video, “Hitting them like Howard Hill “ here on UA-cam. He learned Howard’s shooting style directly from him and knows what he’s talking about. Unlike some who tell you that Howard did it this or that way. Very informative. Good shooting Nathan!
@@richardbernard8491 it’s a classic video. John was the man.

Nice channel cat, Ethan. Also, I know some people who eat the sheephead and say they are good. Never tried myself. Its just what I hear. We call sheephead "drums" here in Ohio. I guess both terms are correct though. I catch them up at Lake Erie sometimes. I might try to eat one next time. Curious.
@@woollymammothinspace I have since tried one and they are awesome. I can taste no distinct difference between them and bass.
How much does a bow like that cost?
@@CaptLRay prices very. The best I can suggest is give Mike a call with number in the video. He can answer all questions.

Seeing people with your attitude and mentality towards hunting is imo what hunting should be all about. Sadly it seems there are fewer and fewer people these days that approach hunting like this. I started traditional bowhunting 4 years ago and I can't get enough. To me it is what hunting should be all about. Most people I try to share it with look at me like I am crazy. Good luck this fall. @@bcreed9348 I do. Gets the arrow closer to my eye.
Thats a lovely bow dude. Ive just begun making a run of Yew selfbow hunting bows, heavily influenced by the Hill style ASL. Archery culture is beautiful in the states, much more practical that the traditional shooting we do in England. I very much like the thought of my bows making there way to American archers. Come check them out Much love!

Hey just wondering would you get this or the axis 2 xp, both in 308. Not sure if you’ll see this lol I just don’t know the difference yet
@@delayeddeyhaus7720 in my personal experience with the axis series of rifles… there is little comparison between them and the 110 series. If you can afford a little more or can save a little longer, definitely go for this rifle or any other 110.
I just purchased some aluminum arrows dude, the old way may be a little more difficult but nothing good in life comes easy. Traditional bows are very rewarding, and humbling, it's how much work you put in

Great stuff...I'm new to bow hunting and have been practicing with a recurve. Is 15 yards a good max? What's your average distance?

I'm a new traditional hunter. Earned my license late last year and went small game hunting with my Mesa Longbow several times. No success, but had a lot of fun experiencing the public land near me. I've been really racking my brain on ground hunting - I'm the only traditional hunter in my friends. I jumped straight to the longbow and have never used rifle or compound. Thanks for this video - I'm convinced this is my route. Do you take a milk crate to sit on? What do you do about ticks, bugs, etc. when on the ground? Thanks everyone. No one else in my family hunts, so please share your wisdom!
Excellent video, nice explanations. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching
Great video Mr.Perino .
I hunt on the ground 99% of the time now. No more carrying in tree stands and setting up in the dark. And then dragging the deer out along with all that equipment on my back. Just a small backpack and my gun. Sometimes deers come in from behind me. And that's when I freeze myself...sometimes they get sense something is up and they hurry along and disappear. Sometimes they keep walking and I get my tag filled
That’s awesome!
Nice i like this but this bow shoots bether when you shooting splitvinger but keep on the good work 💯👍🏻🏹
