Stephen Colbert brings his signature satire and comedy to THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, the #1 show in late night, where he talks with an eclectic mix of guests about what is new and relevant in the worlds of politics, entertainment, business, music, technology and more. Featuring bandleader Louis Cato and “THE LATE SHOW band,” the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated show is broadcast from the historic Ed Sullivan Theater. Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer and writer of THE LATE SHOW on Sept. 8, 2015. - Розваги
Colbert: "The worst that could happen is you could take off somebody's head"
Oliver: (Hysterical laughter followed by shooting the front row in the face)
Now, he's trully 'Murican 🎉😅😊
She got the full Maude Flanders experience
😂😂
Classic
The alternating joy and horror on John's face about the crimes that he has been given permission to commit on camera is beautiful to watch
He straight up became The Joker when that gun was handed to him and I think Warner Brothers now needs to recast that part.
John Oliver being so happy at shooting a cannon at people cheering for him is the most American thing I've ever seen
In Seth's defense, us Jackals appreciate Seth's laid back look. He went thru a lot in his attic during shutdown a few years ago. 😄
Shirt and sweater for Seth is better for his late night vibe. Seth don't need a suit. The real "suits" need them!
He pulls off doing the show in a sweater
Arrghhh yes, just him, his sweaters, and the Sea Captain
John's giggling at the power he wields is great.
He became the friggen Joker.
It's nice that all of the Late Night hosts are buddies.
No matter what you may think of any of them, it is a much better environment than certain times past.
Absolutely!
It helps that a lot of them first broke into the industry together.
There’s a reason that most of them talk about Jon Stewart as if he were a giant. The Daily Show played a huge part in shaping a lot of late night shows as we know them.
These guys pushed and shamed ppl into vaccine mandates , staying at home , masks and a host of other things that just turned out to be completely false . You'd think they'd at least have the decency to apologize for getting it so fcking wrong .
Buddies?they are part the the corporate woke trash people are sick of from hollywierd.they are basically prized parrots & donkeys for the masses by the system
Don't blame Conan!
Episode 5 of Strike Force Five had me breathless with laughter. I envy anyone who's going to be hearing it for the first time.
episode 5 was an instant classic ❤
I cant handle the antici
Same! I'll be re-listening to that episode forever
I'm a bit upset that this is the first time I'm hearing about the podcast. I'm definitely checking it out after this.
@henrytawnn8694 yeah I only found out about it today too
I will never get tired of John Oliver laughing with his entire body.
WHAAAAT?!? How am I only NOW learning Strike Force Five existed now, after the strike is over?!?! The Algorithm Gods have failed me!!! At least your merch is right on time for when I joined!😅
I'm pretty sure more right wingers know this podcast existed than their regular audience lmao. Right wing influencers dragged the podcast the entire time it was going.
@@tarsierontherun Explains all the comments by them and the number of upvotes on those comments.
@@tarsierontherunreally? Probably depends on medium, I have been listening on Castbox, and those few comments there are all positive 😊
For those who don't know, John Oliver has a stand-up bit about how despite people having been killed by or as a result of t-shirt cannons, the power one feels when wielding one is undeniable and I think he proved that again here
I love how quickly John turned into a villain from the 66 Batman show, laugh and all.😂
He's born and raised British. He's predisposed. :-D
The T-Shirt Cannoneer teaming up with the likes of the Mad Hatter would be hilariously appropriate. They just need a pants themed villain and they go around putting clothes on people. 😂
Batman: He calls himself "The Artilleryman". The police didn't take him seriously because he only wields a t-shirt cannon, but they forgot that they work in GOTHAM.
I'll have you know that Seth Meyers' audience is comprised of jackals and we don't need suits. 🐺
You are not a guest, sir or madam!
Where would you even put the tail? And what kind of Jackal tolerates a collar?
we had suits.
we ate them
Because we just need Seth!
😂😅😊
"What's the worst that could happen with a t shirt cannon?"
Ask Ned Flanders...
John has become the greatest late night filler guest of all time.
As much as I like John Oliver I respectfully disagree. In my view Norm McDonald was the best
Such a relief for you guys to be back !😊
@@simonw2468 Norm's not as good at it anymore.
Honestly John's voice is enjoyable.
@@Channelobunnies I heard he tied with cancer
I'm going to miss getting new episodes of the podcast, but at least episode 5 can be listened to again whenever we need a crying-with-laughter hour. 😂
"Sarcastic mister know it all." RHCP's Scar Tissue was a great choice for John's walk out music!
It’s also the same progression for Dire Straits’ “Romeo & Juliet”
@@videoplusdvdOh, yeah! I hear that! It's not an exact match, but close enough. 😊
The “Strike Force Five” podcast was awesome, all the episodes! Spontaneous and crazy and lots of good laughs
If the SAG-AFTRA strike goes on forever I'd be happy for Stephen to just cycle between NdT and John Oliver as perpetual guests.
😮 that would be amazing. And Evie!!!!
So you're saying if thousands of starving actors starve and lose their way of living, you'll be happy
@@Boyzgoatedthey were off because of the Writers' Strike. That seems to have ended, but the actors are still on strike is my understanding.
there are politicians, other scientists, and oversea actors to invite over as well.
@@TrungNguyen-uf8cv personally, I just want him to interview random people in the audience, that would be kinda funny and interesting
John Oliver is freaking brilliant. I’m so glad they’re back.
No, you are brilliant for knowing John is brilliant
It’s 5:30 am but my day is officially made after watching that jolly little British man with his t-shirt cannon.
What a treat! Two of my favorite late show hosts in one screen!🎉
Even better with Strike Force Five! All FIVE of them in one place!
John fired a tee shirt cannon on THIS show before, right after he gained US citizenship
Having listened to him on 'The Bulge' podcast over the years, he absolutely loves a t-shirt cannon
Ah, the madness!! I've ever so missed this!!! *HUGS* to all those who stuck through the strike!!!
I bought a Writers’ Strike t-shirt in 2008 and the strike promptly ended. I need to buy one of these!
And also, a SAG/AFTRA strike shirt ASAP.
It was great to watch John Oliver and Stephen Colbert share the same braincell as they launched t-shirts at people XD That was a great moment. They're such fun people.
I thought the worst that could come from a t-shirt cannon shot was being knocked of the rear edge of the stadium and falling to the most ridiculous death on TV, ala Maude Flanders.
I love Strike Force Five, and I ordered some merch. I figured it would be a collector’s item one day. 😂
holy god, John is just absolutely *shitting* on Fallon 😂😂
Not sure.
Listen to the pod they sh!t on him in all!
How, when he literally recommended that episode?
For anyone who might’ve missed John on Sun night - and there must be very few out there - pause this segment right now and go watch John’s last broadcast. It’s the funniest thing you’ll have seen in months. John nailed EVERY moment even better than he has in the past.
So happy to see everyone back. Tears in my eyes, Sir.
I hope are a big, strong man, who has never cried before, or I will be disappointed. 💪😢
How did Stephen not know John did an entire t shirt cannon bit back when he did stand up? John’s evil laugh while firing that thing was perfect.
Episode Five of Strike Force Five is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. I almost had to pull over because I was crying g laughing
First time I heard about that podcast. They need to fire their PR people. 😅
I found it yesterday by chance :D
For an Englishman to laugh like a child: how unbecoming. Welcome back guys. Good to see you again. Buy your writing staff a beer and tell them it's from me.
5:02 Liberal British Man Kind Of Understands the Appeal of Guns Now
John should aimed up like Chevy Chase should have, in the three amigos
@@CollinScott As an American who has lived in the UK : they do have guns in the United Kingdom --paintball guns, NERF guns, and other kinds of rifles and shotguns, as well. But the laws and regulations on various weapons vary depending on which country (Northern Ireland laws are different than Scotland, etc).
@@JillWhitcomb1966 And they certainly make sure not every Tom and effing looney Harry can get one - UK have one of the strictest control measures on who can have access to firearms. Absolutely no carrying one in public, concealed or otherwise.
Strike Force Five was great! And so was Radio Shack, John! I was a regular there!
Jon Stewart and David Letterman were on SFF as guests. Its still up on Spotify.
The Prison Health Care show was incredibly adequate.
Two of my all-time favorite people.
I love the friendship between John and Seth❤❤❤
Thank god Corden was gone before SF5 started. SF6 would have been intolerable.
Aww they coordinated their outfits!
That one guy after "prison healthcare" just yelling "YEAH!!!" by himself... I like his style. It speaks to my soul.
I can’t get enough of John’s pure joy of finding out how fun a t-shirt cannon is
Please make an annual podcast to keep us up to date on stuff, like the annual family newsletter!
I'm so glad you guys are promoting Strike Force Five! I'm gonna miss it.
I feel we have come full circle with John Oliver's T-shirt cannon jokes.
John's trigger finger at 4:30 and accident firing is all the proof we need that he really has not somhow fired a t shirt cannon
(Friendly reminder to keep finger out of trigger like steven unless ready to fire, alongside all other safe firing procedures)
Now that Late Night, et al is back, I am stunned to find they had a podcast that I wasn't aware of. I definitely would have tuned in. I have all of them in my subscribers list but I guess UA-cam -and whoever else - that promoted it , or even made a mention of it, certainly didn't do a good job. How did I (or my small circle) not hear of it?
I love when John and Stephen get together. The. Absolute. Best.
I love that Stephen asks if John has fired a Tshirt cannon before when he has literally done it on this show before 😂
Hm. Reminds me of that time when I ordered a gross of T-shirts, 2 months before my band broke up.
So happy to hear the lightning strike! Did not disappoint (the second time it was mentioned 🤣)
Oh, that podcast would've been amazing to know about before it ended!
Yes … hard to promote things when all the late night shows are off air :-)
@pamplemoussejus7583 I'm hoping the podcast episodes are still available out there in the internet universe.
@@doraguerra21 I guess they are but if they were discussing the news, which I would've hoped for them to do, I don't really see myself listening to episodes that were topical five months ago... :/
@@unvergebeneid they dont discuss the news. the podcast is mainly them discussing their jobs and sharing interesting and funny anecdotes from doing their shows. for example - the second episode of the pod is them talking about their first ever episodes, and theres also brief tangents about why seth's set changed, why john had a guest area he didnt bother using, and why kimmel stopped airing his show live.
@@nobody4633 that does sound more timeless, thanks for letting me know! I will check it out then!
Episode 5 is seriously fucking hilarious, I could barely breathe!!😂
Did anyone else notice how a fully grown middle aged man spontaneously became a 12 year old boy again when he was handed that hand held cannon lmao
Strike Force Wives 1 & 2 was the best thing I've ever listened to~
The wife is like... Please dear god get him out of the house. hehe
"sartorial" is just such a wonderful word
Episode 7 where they roast Falon for his onion story is one of the best things to listen to.
This has helped to heal my soul in ways I cannot explain
So glad you are back! Love you all!
They're having too much fun with those T-shirt cannons! 😂
Yay! John Oliver!
Also, still wishing whomever is posting these videos on UA-cam would number them or otherwise indicate what order they are supposed to be in.
Usually you can go by length, from longest to shortest. That doesn't always work, but mostly it does.
So glad they included the thunder clap sound effect
One of the best duo in all of late night.
I missed you guys SO MUCH. Welcome back.
Daduq? JO’s spouse is a decorated combat nurse and she looks like THAT?
Well done, sir. Well done.
Two brothers of a different mother. Hard to tell those two apart.
John Oliver has spent far too long in USA. No brit would shoot at people like that. LOL
Was waiting to see how long it would take for John to be on Stephen Colbert. John's glee at hitting people in the face with "literal trash" is priceless.
I love and commend that five of them ran the podcast. I savoured the warm ambient atmosphere where camaraderie and warm humour reigned.
I started listening to Strike Force Five. The first episode was a little tough to listen to, you know, because they are still trying to navigate everything. So, I decided to listen to the most react and work my way back ... and it's been great! I'm loving them all joking and kidding with each other! Not to mention, they had Jon Stewart and Letterman on!
Saw him live in Melbourne Au 10 years ago
Oliver is awesome, these two together are a force of comedy
If you haven't listened to Strike Force Five it really is hilarious
Dr.Colbert is loved. He’s got guts. It’s nice to see someone stick on their own values
Yay! You’re back Stephen! Missed you from Singapore. 👍
John and Stephen practicing their crowd control routine 😂
I love John Oliver.
That thunder clap is bittersweet. Strike Force 5 will be missed.
i might never recover from colbert forgetting to send conan dates to do the sf5 podcast. truly devastating
Conan is brilliant & so unique! Love him!
My morning UA-cam of Colbert can resume. I've missed him!!
The way sir Oliver got all giddy, when he saw Colbert shoot someone with it, and he realized "oh i can do that too?!" Then quickly loaded one up and blasts that beautiful woman in the shnoz .. Classic Late Night moment🕺
It is so good to see you back. Are these two not great together. They look like they are having so much fun. I would love to be at a party with them.
Steve; You could shoot someone's head off with this.
John: Proceeds to shoot someone's head off.
The thunder...fantastic.
Love that they did the thunderclap!
I remember her from The Ref. She was so proper and hilarious as the matriarch who everyone "put up with".
My Mom knows her from classics, and when she's lucid😢 she points her out.
Geeze, WISH I had known there was a podcast - must be living under a rock....so Stephen, John, Seth, JImmy - ( and the other one....) - sounds *awesome* (also, - 5 months? Wow!)
Strike Force 5 podcast was a riot to listen to. Pity I only found the podcast a week ago.
John Oliver's obvious discomfort at doing comedy, when combined with his deep horror at being unable to do comedy, may be the most relatable thing i have ever seen.
I’m glad the writers’ strike is over, but I’m sad that Strike Force Five is ending. I started listening to it on my way to work in the morning. It almost was enough to make me not hate getting up and going to work every day. 😢
Seriously, I would laugh so hard on my way to work that my face would hurt from the constant smiling. 😂
Always a treat to see John Oliver! 😄
Ohhh how much we all missed that 🙏🏼😆 Thank you!!
Good to see Paton Owsalt in the crowd supporting at 5:41
I laughed so hard at that, I think I woke up my roommate
All the way from Nairobi, Kenya.....its awesome to have you back❤
John Oliver talking about Strike Force Five merch like he did about Bugle merch back in the day. LOL.
It fills me with joy watching a Brit discover the joy and wonder of shooting sports
welcome home you guys :-)
Thank you for playing the Strike Force 5 sound!
