Shawn, you offer the absolutely best pointers on technique. The right arm swing drill being one of them! This really helps a vaulter understand the “gas pedal” vs “steering wheel” analogy you use in your coaching. Great content, as always 🙌
hey man, all these videos are really helpful, it's my first year pole vaulting and I first started jumping 6'5" now I'm jumping almost 10 feet. keep up the good work dude
It's my first year as a vault coach and your VLOGs have been on point! I really appreciate your knowledge and great ways to explain what you mean! Do you have anything for a kid that takes off on the wrong foot? Warm ups are golden, plants in a slide box are good but full jumps revert back to him off the wrong foot.
i cant bend my pole with my grip :/ and every time i move my grip back it throws me off, also because i cant bend my pole i cant swing so i am basically stick vaulting, i don't know what to do, and i feel stuck
Nothing wrong with stick vaulting! How much are you changing your grip? I never move my grip more than 3 inches at a time. Check out this video! It might help! ua-cam.com/video/2wYn_UkA_WQ/v-deo.html

Ps. You also explain this so well in your book…hopefully, more and more coaches and vaulters will buy your book, THE POLE VAULT TOOLBOX. 👊

My coach always tells us top hand at the top of the pole and bottom hand to we’re it touches your armpit when you pull the pole back
it would be great if you could explain the stretch reflex
Emilio Avila I'll touch on that next week for ya!
Shawn Francis cool cool cool
have a look at Brian Clymer on youtube
