Actually DVD's came out in 1999. I'm 42 years old going on 43 in September. Don The Dragon is a very good martial artist. Thank you for this interview Viking Samurai.
Pretty sure I mentioned the shaky cam in my review. Gary Daniels is a definite you gotta interview bro. Keep it up. POW👊💥‼️
I Absolutely Hope for a Sequel...
I'm tired of repeating myself but I have to do it once more. You HAVE to love Don Wilson. That energy, spontaneity, positivity...what a great guy. Thanks again VS..
Despite not having A-list fame, he's still a great man, martial artist, and overall, a wonderful person all around. I love seeing these videos of him.
I’m so glad this is being discussed because for years that damn shaky cam drove me crazy.
And it’s a shame because
Night Hunter is really good.
It has some fantastic fight choreography especially when Don fights Ron Yuan.
I think that those fight scenes Don had with Gary Daniels are some of the best of his career. It was incredible to see two of the greats clash like that! I really feel like Bloodfist IV: Die Trying is a vastly underrated 90s martial arts flick.
You seem like a real fan of the genre.
@@bigfantrailers9975 Yes, you could definitely say that.
I agree but not the best but it's fun not worst
“Red Sun Rising” was one of my favorite Marial Arts films because it was so spooky! My girl would chill out and watch it with me because it was very supernatural. Master Don had his hands full with the bad guy in that film! It’s very interesting to hear, “The Dragon” talk about these films with such passion for his work! 🇺🇸🙌🏻
Just brought Black Belt on eBay Mathias Huas is one of the best martial arts villains! He's the white Bolo!
Excellent interview. Don is such a great guy. Had the pleasure of working with him briefly on my little assassin-movie "The Hitman Agency". Couldn't have hoped for a better, more relaxed and at the same time energetic collaborator. Two years later I was able to show him his fight scene sweating bullets ... and he was very complementary about it. But that was all him, along wis his talented figh partner and my great editor. And no shaky cam, haha.
I see a buddy cop film on the horizon starring Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Viking Samurai. VS plays the clean cut rookie Detective mentored by his partner, the no nonsense Veteran Detective The Dragon himself. I think it could work 😎
Sign me up! The 2 half Asian dragons! Lol
It would work well. The balanced veteran cop giving guidance to the young loose cannon cop.
Love this. Takes me back to the time of these movies and fond memories.
Man, I love these Don Wilson interviews. He is such a cool guy. Love hearing about his movie and fighting career.
I screened NIGHT HUNTER when I worked at HBO/CINEMAX and we screened a 35mm print in our theater. The movie was bought due to our relationship with the distributors, Don himself and (or course) my humble recommendation! It was a hit for the services, by the way.
Hello, Viking Samurai. I can't get enough of these Don "The Dragon" Wilson segments. Keep them coming. Well, if you have more that is.
TERRANCE OUT
There will be more
Great Vid clicked like . I hope there is a lot more to come with THE DRAGON .
Greatest fight movie ever filmed!
As someone who knew about Wilson back then but wasn’t familiar with his work, these interview videos have been great and deserve more views.
Now I want to go watch some of his movies that are available on Tubi.
James Lew is a great martial artist.
Very good interview with The Dragon🐲 Wilson!🥊👍 I wonder if the shaky camera in 'Night Hunter' was because maybe the director didn't have experience with fighting scenes yet, or maybe the camera men were just very excited with the fight scenes😆
I like that don is doing the interview through a shaky camera.
Great Episode, Don Wilson movies are very good. I found out some behind the scenes stuff today. Thanks for posting.
Great vid thanks!
If you get the chance, please ask him about Bloodfist 4, its a surprisingly good film and the best Don the Dragon film I have seen.
God Bless You Don Wilson The Dragon 🐉! My Greatest Hero 🙏
You should try interviewing Gary Daniels, that would be cool!
The shakey cam threw me off when I first saw it, but I still enjoyed the movie. One of my favorite of Don's. Just watched it again the other day 😎
As someone who was heavy into kickboxing in the 90s, I worshipped Don Wilson, thanks for sharing these awesome videos!
Do you collect Prime 1 Statues?
@@silvervalleystudios2486 I sure do!
@@prime1collector792 I don't really have room for statues butI have one Prime 1 statue. The 1/3 scale Dog Alien.
dude, night hunter was awesome, i loved it when it came out, DOn's characther name jack cutter, just awesome, , bunch of my friends were into the vampire the masquerade game on those days, we ate anything vampire related , we just loved this movie, vampires, martial arts, action, couldnt ask for more.
Great again. Night Hunter was terrible 😅 i was so dissapointed. The Cover was so great. Story very intressting. Vampires and Martial Arts. But the shaky cam destroy the movie. James Lew is a phenomenal guy. And a fantastic Martial Artist. His skills are amazing. He was great as Bad guy in Red Rising Sun. But for me, his best rolle, was in Best of the Best. Not of the training footage or his fight with Eric Roberts. It's the Moment, when he goes to Eric Roberts, and bring him his medal. A big emotional scene, that goes very deep 👏👏👏
Great interview as always ❤
Hey Viking Samurai 1st off dude you and your channel is Awesome I will be 43 this July and I was wondering if you could interview Cynthia Rothrock she was an Awesome Martial Artist in the late 80's early 90's.
I'll look into it
@@VikingSamurai sounds good brother I'm also a Huge JCVD fan Bruce Lee, Don The Dragon Wilson I love all those guys I took Wu-Shu and Judo as a teenager.
Dale Jacoby is the martial arts actor he was talking about who swung the sword
You should see if you can get Gary Daniels on the show...
Don seems like the coolest dude in the world! I use to love watching his on late night cable as a preteen in the early 90s. God I miss those days!
I loved that movie!
Mako Iwamatsu, one of my all time favorite actor/martial artists and a very classy man in every sense of the word.
See him fight Bruce Lee in the tenth episode of the Green Hornet and Bruce showing off his "one inch punch."

R.I.P.
Great interview 👍
This Movie reminded me of a Hybrid of Batman and Blade
And Bloodrayne
I still have a VHS copy of Night Hunter. It did feel like you could get motion sickness from the shakey cam work.It was pretty cool, though. I loved Ring of Fire, Red Sun Rising, Blackbelt, and a bunch of the Bloodfist films Those movies were so much fun. I think he was fighting Dale Jacoby in the final fight of Ring of Fire?
Don looks just like Brandon Lee in night hunter
I can't stand that shaky camera shit either. That's why I never could get into the Jason Bourne movies, they do nothing but that shaky camera shit and I never see what there doing. That Batman Begins movie was worse, shaky camera and quicker cut scenes. Hey Viking Samurai man, love the show. You've interviewed the legend Don the dragon Wilson, get Thiebo Billy Blanks on boss and Mark Decaso on man.
Finally....a non frank dux video! 😁
The director of night hunter can’t keep the camera still, and neither can don “the dragon” Wilson apparently 😂
Lol
@@VikingSamurai what up Viking Samurai. What confusing me is the shaky camera in Night Hunter Action movie 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
My review copy was on VHS. Still got it someplace.
Blockbuster video had a celebrity tour one time. Christina Ricci was sent around Blockbuster Video stores across the country to promote the movie Casper . She had a line a mile long outside the store. She was cool, her people were cool. She shook hands and took pictures with everybody.
Then Don came to town. No line. Came in a limo wearing a fishnet black shirt.
Was rude as hell to the three zit faced Viking samurais that showed up
Dons really nice to everyone in person from what I've seen
@@VikingSamurai Maybe he’s changed.
Maybe he just had a bad day
Aside from all this, can you please ask Don if he can get these Studios to re-release most his movies remastered in at least 1080p? It's already hard enough to find even older dvd's and most aren't even available on any format. Sure I've found a few VHS tapes here and there but watching these on a big 1080p-4k led tv, the picture quality is horrible. Just a request here if there's a way to talk to whoever holds the rights to the Don "The Dragon" Wilson movies 🙏👍🤘
Unfortunately alot of those movies are stuck in limbo. DVD sales are on life support. Its not worth it for the studios to scan the prints. They wont get that money back.
@@silvervalleystudios2486 they could at least do like a 5000 copy limited edition release or something. Some studios have made agreements and such with companies like Criterion, Shout Factory, Arrow etc....
@@Shadowking81 That would be awesome if that happened. VHS doesn't last. Even if you don't play the tapes often the magnetic fields in the earth eat away at the tape. And like you said on a large LCD/LED panel it looks crap.
@@silvervalleystudios2486 yeah. I know that those companies I mentioned obtain licenses from the studios to restore/remaster movies to 1080p +. I own movies from Arrow, Shout/Scream Factory, Criterion etc.. that are a whole lot more obscure than Don "The Dragon" Wilson's movie and those were done great justice so I do believe that they could agree a licensing fee etc...and restore/remaster these in high definition.
But who would win a fight between Don and Michael Bisping?
Don!
@@VikingSamuraicome on! Mike is like 45. X ufc champion. Beat Anderson Silva and Luke rockhold
They should re edit it in After Effects and called it Day For Night Hunter.
Bloodmoon and Superfighter are classic films.
“When you watch a porn, there’s specific things you wanna watch REALLY WELL!” That had me dying, but it’s perhaps the best way to criticize shaky cam.
Ring of Fire 👍
im a fan of found footage movies..watched a dozen of them..but this movie looks to be 10x worse..Makes zero sense what so ever for this type of movie..What in the world were they thinking?? WOW..
Top the vidéo 👍
Cat Rocking the tropical look
Night Hunter is the only movie I have not seen from Don Wilson nor cared for it because I'm not a vampire fan.
Superb!!!
He actually said VIKING SAMURAI’S real name!
Hay q hacer Night Hunter the Return of the Vampire Demon!
Great video brother. I think the crow had two scenes in the day.
Don's amazing
You should interview Lorenzo Lamas.
I am a huge fan of Don "The Dragon" Willson Action movies such as Ring Of Fire series. There is one Action Movie I haven't seen that is Night Hunter. The movie looks like a The Crow and Blade rip off . I am also a fan of vampires. I don't understand why the director keep the camera still instead.
OMG Mr Bigglesworth at the start of the video
Looks like The Crow before The Crow.
They should have used Donnys Web cam! It's less shaky n better quality 😆 🤣
🤘no limits🤘🥞🤘
I enjoyed watching Don kicking tail he should’ve been much more well known then than what he was!!!
ron yuan's fight scene was the best one, one problem who had kept playing with the camera that was annoying
I bought Night Hunter on DVD for $1 back in 2010, and after one viewing, I tossed it. Not the best Don Wilson movie. And that was the first movie about vampires with no crosses, silver, or stakes to the heart. Just neck breaking. 😂
Without watching the video yet, I'll assume its the crazy shaky-cam that doesn't work? Lets see ...
I think if shaky-cam was used sparingly, it could have worked to add a little bit of visceral feeling in the edit.
You should try to interview guys like James Lew and Larry Lam. I think I had a calendar in 2010 or something with Larry Lam on it with another guy I forgot some white guy martial arts dude.
@Viking Samurai did u talk to him about magic kid? Talk to him about martial arts Ted roberts
I love Don's comparison of shaky cam and porn.
I know who Dragon Wilson is and haven't seen a single movie of his. But maybe I should. Maybe I should.
They used a shaky cam on ilko uwais mile 22 the guy can really move and do it. It was shame I think the bourne identity movies really hurt fight scenes every director use it in Hw its a trick to use on actors who can fight to make them look like they can fight. Guys like ilko, tony jaa, scott adkins, MJW, Donnie, jackie they can really move you want to show that. Bret retner of rush hour was smart he told jackie you and your team got all the action i got the rest of the movie that was smart on his part
Geez I never saw this movie. Did I miss ground breaking Martial Arts Cinema?.
Sorry for my weak English. Next time Please ask him about the movie name "operation cobra/inferno "(1997) . Please 🙏 + +
I thought it was Richard Ramirez the night stalker lol at first glance atleast
Love the comparison between martial arts movies and porn. 😆
I forgot about this interview. Just tried to watch night hunter. Shakey cam ruined it!
Parallel between MOST MA films and porn. AGREED!! :)) Except I'd add that in both cases when they have to come up with scripts and plots....the writers go into FANTASY mode. Loose touch with reality. Don't know why. In both cases with only a handufl of exceptions. Where the plots DO make some sense and the dialogue isn't cliche. And are based in real life. Could have actually happened. :)
So what’s the big news, announcement, interview?
There's been a delay unfortunately related to a conflict of interest... We'll see how it plays out though.
Night Hunter was cool b movie his fight Ron Yeun was better then the one he did with him in Bloodfist V: Human Target
After I went through a serious medical situation and had suffered through very intense chemo and other things, for the longest time I could not watch anything that "jumped around" because it litterally made me sick. Sudden, bright flashes of light, shaking motion, it actually did trigger horrible physical reactions.
Someone had the brilliant idea of choosing then to bring over this movie. Everytime anything "good" started to happen, I had to stop watching the show and litterally leave the room to get away from it.
I get it, it's an incredibly poor choice of technique by a very good director who had a vision in his mind about how to "embelish" the effects, to make the fighting/action scenes seem more visceral, more violent and more engaging for the audience. Shake-cam techniques can, at the right time and with small, metered implementation, achieve that desired effect. This, however, makes it look like it was filmed by a crack addict afflicted with Parkinson's disease after four days into a binge.
It's too bad they wasted everyone's time, effort and money from the production and talent right down to the ticket buyer.
Shoot it again!! Remake what had the potential to be a great action movie!
I just learned today that martial arts movie are similar to porn.
When my parents wake up I will tell them I want to take martial arts class to make a career in movie.
Haha...Love Don's Porn Reference. True though.
Honestly, all his movies were pretty bad. Loved watching him as a fighter. Not so much as an actor, lol.
I thought night hunter was a good movie for it's time I was a big don the dragon Wilson fan his movies didn't get enough credit
I think they shook the camera because frankly they couldn't be bothered; weren't taking it serious and treated Don as just a Z list action actor.
Shaky Cam was used in Seagal's Fire Down Below..... Irritating as hell! These directors need to take a note from the old school films of Chuck and Bruce.
