Segals stories do not cross the line, as in segals stories are so fantastical that people know he is selling a movie. Frank Dux saw enter the dragon and made a believable story that people in the 80s thought could be real due to belief in the magical powers of martial arts then. People really believed in Chi. Rreal fighters forget the appeal of martial art movies, its the fantasy if believing one man can defeat one hundred men without any effort. Enter the dragon was based on frank dux's life even though he was not even born then.
Dux is the real deal. I was there, fighting alongside him when he was 19 yrs old defending the sensei Tanakas house from some shinobis claiming they teleported in time to steal Tanakas ninja "costume" and secret sword. I will never forget that moment. I remember the words coming from Franks mouth, saying "only a ninja can kill a ninja"..then I woke up.
That’s ridiculous. He’s 65. He’s slow. No power. No movement. No disrespect to Don. It’s reality. Sure he could beat up Some modern day man who has never fought. But not anyone capable or a shred of athletic ability. He’s small and pushing 70.
Don Wilson would beat the fuck out of Frank Dux any day of this week. They are the the same age and Don will always beat his ass easily for as long as they both live.
There is no 80 year old who has ever lived that would beat me or maul me. That’s not a boast. I don’t know how meek or old or how you believe in magic. I’m not even going to say the years I’ve trained. I will state the obvious. An 80 year old judo gene isn’t whipping anybodys ass. Obviously I wouldn’t ever harm an old man especially gene but you live in an absolute fantasy land.
I would love to see a part 2 discussion on Frank as well as see more of Alan and legend Don together speaking more about their experiences in the martial arts world as well as cinema. The three of you had great on camera chemistry and worked well off of one another.
It sounds like Frank Dux was like the Bill Paxton character in True Lies lying about being a spy to steal Jamie Lee from Arnie. Great show. Love Don “The Dragon” Wilson.
He is a legit martial artist like seagle they just aren’t practical they’d get beat by trained fighters but not are douches and lie the shit out of everything
I got to meet Don Wilson in person at a Convention in Ohio. Have my picture taken with him. He was very approachable and easy going. He didn't mind chatting at all. To me he acted like how a martial artist should be. I was honored to have met him. Only wish I could have had a even longer conversation with him.
@@jskypercussion 😂 I can honestly say that I know a few girls that could do that to him! Unless he has some skills other than breaking fake champagne bottles that is.
My kickboxing coach knew Don and held him in very high regard. My coach wasn't in the limelight but was a champion from that Era. His name is Steve Shepherd and he passed a few years ago.
I appreciate that Viking Samurai has been able to get all these legendary people on his show to tell so many great stories and give great perspectives on the behind the scenes of so many movies.
Btw it´s actually great to see a respected fighter and martial artist like Don Wilson just talk about Frank´s nonsense and call it what it is. I think a lot of the established fighters just don´t want to bother to talk about him.
@@rokkvi1 You are correct and I did not comment on his ridiculous claims for many years because I thought no one could possibly believe him. But, as the years passed, he became more famous and credible because, those who know better like myself, kept silent. I am doing the least I can do under these circumstances, however, I will continue to "speak the truth" when asked. Thanks for your understanding regarding "Frank's nonsense".
Too bad it's hard for me to know if this is the real Don Wilson commenting or not. Would be pretty awesome if it were. @Viking Samurai do you know if this is the actual account of Don commenting here?
Heard that Frank Dux is currently writing a book about his own alien abduction experience. These aliens actually knew who he was when they abducted him aboard their UFO and took him to another distant galaxy to fight in a intergalatic tournament to the death and Frank won the tournament! Winning The Kumite was great but that was just fighting humans from earth, so his new book will be amazing to read and hopefully they'll make a movie of it too.
He got the fastest knock-out in universal history at minus 17 seconds , it was so fast time went backwards after the initial sonic boom , the greatest of all.the cosmic dragons presented him with the crown of the galaxy
I look forward to Don The Dragon Wilson fight! I first seen him fight in the 80's when PKA was a thing on ESPN. He was one of my martial arts inspirations. I still train today. The Dragon is one of the reasons why.
Firstly, Big props to Viking Samurai for getting the man, the myth, the legend Don “The Dragon” Wilson, hands down one of if not the greatest Kickboxers of all time. And Sifu Alan Goldberg, seems like a guy I would love to meet and would’ve loved to train with. Been waiting for this video, and not disappointed at all! The ball is still in Frank Dux’s court, and I have a feeling it will stay there for the foreseeable future. I was speaking with a friend of mine who has trained Kyokushin and fought professionally, he’s actually done Kumite, which is how you get your black belt in Kyokushin, and I mentioned Dux to him. He looked up some photos where Dux is wearing a red belt and I was told that’s a serious offense to wear a red belt when you are not. It’s bad enough to claim black belt status when you aren’t, but red belt could get you hurt by some people; because of the years of training and sacrifice it takes to achieve such a rank. Great video, and as far as Don “The Dragon” Wilson fighting one more time…..HELL YES!
Kumite is actually just a word that means " sparring " but whenever people hear that word they think it means a secret tournament because of the movie Bloodsport.
AWESOME!! Don Wilson is one of my all-time favorites! Now I know why you were quiet when I mentioned that you should get him on here a few weeks ago. Well done as usual Viking Samurai!
@@theflyingninja1 The 90s were such a good time for awesome one-liners! That's another great Don Wilson movie, I always thought that title sounded like a Steven Seagal flick.
also, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, wow, you have gotten much bigger stars on this channel since i have started watching 6 months ago. i don't know alot of the guests you have on, if they are behind the scenes or fight choreographers or directors because i'm a movie buff of all kinds, which includes martial arts movies, (especially from 80s-90s) so i pretty much only know the actors. but i enjoy your videos and i learn who some of these people are only after watching your videos, as a teenager van damme and dolph lundgren were my favorites but Don "The Dragon" Wilson was a huge name in martial arts movies at that time, really i have only seen a few of his movies but to me he's the biggest star on your channel so far. sheldon lettich is of course really big hit action movie wise but he's behind the camera. I see this channel becoming bigger and bigger to one day having people like scott adkins or Michael Jai White on. Don't take this the wrong way but when your do finally have Jean-Claude Van Damme on your channel (and it will happen one day) you will have hit your peak, there will be nowhere to go from there so enjoy every moment of talking to every one of your favorite stars and martial artists and if it ever gets hard or stressful just realize your doing what you love and if it takes a while to have Van Damme on your channel that's ok!
My Sensei said to me in 1989 "No one has ever heard of Frank Dux" Alan Goldberg and Don The Dragon Wilson...well done gentlemen, more martial artists need to call these people out on their BS
Alan Goldberg just said here he hear of frank before bloodsport was released and that was in 1988. In 1980. That doesn’t mean Frank is telling the truth but the guy your watching said he heard of him almost a decade before the movie came out. You’re lying just like frank. Lol wtf man
I think Don would have made a lot of noise in UFC. He kicked ass everywhere he went. Absolute legend. Bloodsport is still a great movie. Just don't think it's based on a true story.
If Dux had went awol to go to the secret tournament, the military would have charged him with awol. court-martialed him and discharged him from the service.
I mean this with all due respect, but aside from Frank's own home, this is the safest place for him. VS, Don nailed it, you are indeed extremely neutral in all this, at no time have you ever come off as having any sort of bias, you've simply done what we've all dreamed of: Sitting and chatting with our MA heroes and get interesting backstories about the crazy rumors we all grew up hearing. I also admire the way that you do not let your guest say things sideways, you make them clear up their statements so there is no question what is being said. Not many interviewers do this, so it's refreshing and greatly appreciated. I'm glad I've stuck around this long, cause your even-keeled vids on subjects like this are making a fan out of me.
I met Don The Dragon at a martial arts tournament once. He took a lot of time to talk to me. Super nice guy, and he doesn't come across as someone who would purposely bad mouth someone out of malice. LOL I have a framed autograph from him.
Getting some really amazing guests for your interviews. I have heard quite a bit about the exaggerations put out by Frank Dux over the years. I'd agree Dux basically rehashed Enter the Dragon with Bloodsport.
Would like to hear more about the contract to kill Stephen K. Hayes, that's pretty crazy and never heard that one. Hayes is a legit ninja and I heard about their rivalry. I know he isn't a big fan of Hayes and claims that Hayes even paid Blackbelt magazine to only feature his ninjutsu style in the magazine and to ban him but it appears that isn't true because they didn't really believe Dux's claims to begin with and even put a disclaimer on the article. I remember about a year ago I was part of a Facebook group where I had posted a video of Stephen K. Hayes demonstrating some techniques and Dux was also a member of this group and he claimed those moves were impractical and would never work in a real fight. I wrote back saying I disagreed and that Hayes in the early days was attacked several times at his own seminars. It was crazy back in those days because according to one of my teachers who at one time was a student of Hayes he said in addition to martial artist all types of people would show up to his seminar because of his claims to be the only " American to be trained in the authentic ninja arts " so they would show up to see if he was for real. Everything from special forces soldiers ( some who became his students of many years ) to mercenaries to guys in the CIA to even hit men professional assassin types. I heard stories he defeated a US soldier who tried to wrestle and take him down to the ground and even had a guy come at him trying to hit him in the head with a pair of nunchaku's. He also provided security for the Dali Lama and worked as his personal body guard to make sure he could safely exist Tibet because the Chinese government wanted him dead. Funny the Dali Lama chose a ninja to assure his safety and to make it out alive. I pointed these things out stating if Hayes had accomplished all these things he must know something, he must know a thing or two about fighting and staying alive and survival. Dux didn't have a thing to say and never replied back to my comment.
Because that is what Dux does, puts doubt in the people's minds . to make them think Dux is the only way to do things. Also Dux has threatened many people that way over the years , Great Fact no one ever thinks about < Dux says he studied this secret Ninja clan teaching and was made the inheritor, But In one Video he said He is Self-taught ( ON VIDEO) . So I ask You who would Give up a 400 Yr old Inheritance for a Fake Martial Arts system ??? A Narcissist. Also what happened to all the Followers of Tanakas teaching ? just More Bull shit . and Last Thing to show how much he lies In a Video he says he fought and Beat Victor Moore Humm another Lie Me and 2 others got Moore on the phone ( recorded It ) and Moore Said it NEVER Happened and in a embarrassed manner. In 2 phone calls. So in Nice words FU Frank Dux.
I mentioned in the Bloodsport Redux that there's a big connection between Count Dante, a well known bullshido expert, and Frank Dux. Count Dante was not legit. He was crazy. The Black Dragon Society did exist but it wasn't associated with martial arts. Wikipedia has an article on them.
I keep trying to push the modern martial artist to dissect Don's fight against Branco Cikitic the man that mentored Cro Cop. He was undefeated and after leg kicking Don to the point one leg was twice the size of the other and the forty year old Don broke both his hands on Brancos face he finally got the stoppage. None of his movie fights were even that unbelievable.
Don is a really nice guy. I’ve chatted with him off and on over the years via email after he commented on my fight compilation video I made of his movies. He once sent me an autographed poster. Which I have framed.
Hi, Viking Samurai I wrote to you some time ago about doing a show on Frank Dux, thank you to you, Sifu Alan Goldberg and Don “The Dragon Wilson” for doing the show. Secondly if I may make a suggestion, other then just having another continuation a show on further Frank Dux which is welcome, you should get in touch with Dr. Todd Grande. You could give Dr. Grande the info he requires to make a psychological assessment of Frank Dux and explain why he (Frank Dux) would go to such lengths to lie about his entire life as another episode to your pod cast, thank you again for all that you do…
Another great video, VS! Only dude missing in this one was Steven Lambert (another legend). Being acquainted with Sifu Don via Facebook--everything he says is gospel and Sifu Alan brings fresh perspective too. Still, I hope you can someday get Frank on the show--as I would love to see some parity. Keep up the great work!
I love how objective you stayed despite all this overwhelming claims against Dux you're the perfect mediator....this was really entertaining....I hope Dux come on your channel and tells us some stories....mhm mhm....this was an epic discussion
Thing with Ducks is the longer he lives, the more of the old school guard will die off. The younger crowd will buy into his BS because they live through the movies. People won’t question or doubt for fear of being called out because they don’t have a background in reality…and like mildew, will flourish.
This is no doubt, the most savage roasting of Dux I've ever seen haha Haven't seen Don in a while, but glad to see he's still doing well, and going strong. But yeah, Bloodsport is a great movie still worth watching, and Van Damme did a great job, but I agree that Dux' feats of skill, and his stories are questionable.
Great Episode! I follow both Sifu Goldberg and The Dragon on Facebook. I've had some cool conversations with Don Wilson. He's one cool friendly guy. Hopefully in the future you can get JCVD on your show.
This is so sad. I remember stepping out of the movie theatre and looking at my best friend's eyes and thinking "so this is possible" I was 17 and naive.
The best Frank Dux tale is his account of when him and Van Damme got into it during the filming of Bloodsport. After a few words were exchanged they both went up onto the rooftop to settle things. Frank claimed that rather than having to fight he simply stepped onto a low wall that ran around the very high roofs' edge and executed a high jumping 360 spin kick landing back down on the walls narrow surface. When he jumped down and asked Van Damme if he still wanted some JCVD just looked at him in shock and said Frank you're crazy! After this they were friends and Van Damme had respect for him knowing that he was the real deal...
How is that a better story than the time he went AWOL from his secret job as a CIA ninja, to knock out 56 guys in a secret tournament founded by a fictional organisation invented by Count Dante?
Great video. I love Frank Dux content. I check every few months to see if anyone made a new video on him. So needless to say I was happy this was available. I find Frank's lies to be pitiful and fascinating at the same time. I studied psychology in college and looking back I think I enjoyed studying psychology because I was curious about what made people like Frank tic. In Frank's case how could he think that he could pull the wool over the eyes of the world. Frank might not be a serial killer but he shares a lot of common traits with them. Maybe it's just me but I find that interesting.
@@madmoonrabbit I don't care if Frank told the world that his fart is so powerful it would send him to the moon. I don't give a rats ass what he says. From training with him in the 80's showed me that he is one badass in the art of ninjutsu. Take any mma fighter of this day and zap him back to 1984 and put him in Franks dojo and I guarantee Frank would knock the shit out of him. I've seen the way the guy can fight with my own eyes. You haven't.
@@madmoonrabbit I remember a couple of others senseis would challenge him at his dojo. I don't even know there name I just remember one of them coming in to his dojo and talking shit then Frank kicked the shit out of him. Another time I saw 3 dudes trying to mug him when he was going to his car and he laid them out as fast as you can blow a fart.
Good video Viking Samurai, you should try to get Frank Dux on the show one day, so we can hear his (Frank Dux) side of these stories. You can only teach someone to defend themselves if you are good in that martial arts style.
Great Episode. Great to see Don Wilson, one of my favorite Kickboxers. The bottom line Frank Dux is a liar and speaking of Lying. Vic Moore is not far behind who claims he beat Bruce Lee in a speed contest yet the video shows different. I spoke to a legendary Martial Artist who I will leave nameless. He told me that Vic Moore misinformed his Students. He lied too.
Difference between Vic is that he is a real martial artist. Sure the video shows him loosing but he ain't Frank Dukes. Vic actually fought. Huge difference. You are reaching 😂. You sound like Vic slept with your girl. Not that serious. He believes he's faster than Bruce Lee who is dead. That's his view. He's still a legit martial artist and teacher not a complete fraud like Frank Dux. Vic Moore is respected why do you think they mentioned him. Gtfoh. You probably don't like black people.
Vic actually has a real competition record and beat a lot of top level guys in verified matches Bruce Lee never competed against or fought anyone good the only sparring footage of Bruce is him playing with one of his students. The speed test footage of him beating Vic was not an actual fight. It’s just a game you stand there with your hands down and I’ll stand here with my hands up and let’s see if you can block my strike before it gets in the reason Bruce chose Vic for that game is because Vic was the champion and Bruce knew that and wanted to put himself over
Frank Dux is never going to admit he is a fraud. He is in way too deep or as the saying goes, in for a penny, in for a pound. I believe that lying is a compulsion For him. He just can’t help it anymore. Honestly not worth the time dealing with him. He won’t change. Ever. On a personal note, I’m a huge Don Wilson fan. Absolutely one of the greatest kick boxer to ever live.
Don "The Dragon" Wilson? Omg, he is so amazing. When i was a kid i saw few movies with him that i like even now. He is amazing, and that is the word that i can describe him with. I remember that i saw few of his fights on TV, back when i was a kid. And YES, i would love to see him back on the ring 100%.
I must agree that Bloodsport, Enter The Dragon, The Quest and to some extent Mortal Kombat, are all very similar in storyline, format and generally the best martial arts tournament films, at least storyline wise. That being said nowadays as a grown up I do question, the fictitious accounts of this underground Kumite (fight tournament) in a hidden part of Hong Kong 🇭🇰, where it was organised by this so called 'Black Dragon Society'. How on earth would this Black Dragon Society, know where to recruit these fighters, from various martial arts disciplines, from all corners of the world, where they were supposed to be sworn to full secrecy. Then Viking Samurai how interesting that you mentioned and showed the picture of Frank Dux, holding a trophy 🏆 with a plaque with his full name, plus the name of the tournament. Nevertheless in the film he was presented with a ceremonial 'Samurai Katana' or Samurai style sword, by the chief organiser of the Black Dragon Society, who was presiding over the actual tournament itself. This same commenorative, tournament, ceremonial sword, awarded to the Kumite champion 🏆 idea, was recycled for the unofficial sequel. Bloodsport 2 with Daniel Bernhardt, another fellow Belgian martial artist of Jean Claude Van Damme, who is a bona-fide, Taekwando Black belt and student of Taekwando Grandmaster Hee-il Cho. Except in Bloodsport 2 the ceremonial sword awarded to Alex Cardou (Daniel Bernhardt), this time round was actually a Chinese style sword (gin) which is completely straight and with a thinner blade and scabbard, compared to the traditional Japanese Samurai sword, with the curved blade and sheath. Both films awarded a ceremonial sword, by the Kumite organising committee, as opposed to medals 🏅 like they do mostly in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, a championship belt in Boxing, Muay Thai and so forth, or a regular trophy 🏆 at most Karate tournaments for example. So why was that not consistent with what was awarded in the film? Also at martial arts tournaments, only the organisation who sanctions the tournament, would have their name emblazoned on the trophy, medal, championship belt, etc, plus in some cases the weight class division, the entry level division, be it novice, intermediate, advanced division. Again a winner's name would not be engraved, emblazoned on any of those material, commenorative awards, as the organisers have no idea of all entering competitors who would be the victor, until the end of the competition or tournament itself. So how on earth did Frank Dux, be presented with a secret (life or death) possible, underground, secret, clandestine world tournament, supposedly in the Bahamas (Hong Kong in the film), trophy 🏆with his name on it is beyond me. I laughed when the amazing World Kickboxing Champion, Don 'The Dragon' Wilson said as a joke, that the legendary and also World Kickboxing, Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez was not invited to the Kumite, because he was Mexican 😹😁! In the film they had even Africans, other Hispanics such as Paco, Asians, Europeans and Americans, so clearly if we go by that there was no real, racist xenophobia, from the Kumite organisers. There goes my chance of trying to enter the Kumite myself, as a fellow Mexican representative, of Sensei Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez with my Nacho Libre or Rey Mysterio Jr mask 😷, to be even more secretive about my involvement in this forbidden, hidden tournament, even from my fellow Kumite opponents 😆. Excellent interview with both of these great gentlemen, Viking Samurai, I sincerely hope that you will bring them back, for yet another video continuation of this fictitious, crazy, fantasy world, that is the life of Frank Dux 🇲🇽🇦🇺🥋✌🤟👍.
How on earth would this Black Dragon Society, know where to recruit these fighters, from various martial arts disciplines, from all corners of the world, where they were supposed to be sworn to full secrecy. Ask Ken, Ryu and Sagat
Viking I made some research on Frank's ninjutsu. The ninjutsu style is called Koga Yamabushi Ninjutsu but I could only find Koga Ryu Ninjutsu.A book was written by Don Roley and Shosui Fukuyama about this style and on some point Frank had some beef with Don Roley.
Invite Paulo Tocha (Paco, The Muay Thai Fighter in Bloodsport). He lives in LA and still trains professional Muay Thai fighters. I can get a hold of him..
Thank you for this video, Viking Samurai, Sifu Alan Goldberg and Don "The Dragon" Wilson. As a purple belt in Elite Martial Arts, I actually love this video about Frank Dux. I always knew that he's a liar. When you do part two about this, I hope you or Sifu Alan or Don mentions the lawsuit between Frank Dux and Jean-Claude Van Damme over the movie "The Quest" which Dux lost the lawsuit, lol. 😂😂😂😂😂
Man I love your videos. I even reached out to you a while back an you offered me some great advice with quitting smoking an working out. I got nothing but mad respect for you.
I think I'm not exaggerating if I say that I was almost from the start with you on the channel. I didn't suscribe for the first few videos, but I've seen them when they were out. It's crazy to see you talk to legends like Don the Dragon Wilson like you two are the best buddies. That's how much you have grown and it feels like I have grown with you. I know, it's crazy, but it makes me feel proud. Btw, funny thing about that last picture of Dux with the gun. If you look closely you will see that he has his trigger finger on the trigger. If you have had a little bit of training about how to use firearms, one of the first things they teach you is to never never put your finger on the trigger before you are actually ready to pull the trigger. Even if you are 100% sure the safety is on. Somebody professionally trained would never make that mistake, not even as a joke. Hell, not even if it was a toy, because it's imprinted in your mind. Anyway, thanks for the video, I've enjoyed it very much.
You guys are great! Thanks 4 the video its FUN! I actually saw Don compete in the West Palm Beeach Auditorium in South Florida many years ago. I think he beat Steve Shepard or someone convincingly. Superfoot was also on the card! That said, I have to admit I kinda love guys like Frank Dux because they tell Amazing Tall tales😜 Please do a deep dive into the life of Count Dante in the future if you can. The Count used to walk around with a pet Lion on a leash and was in the Dogo wars back in the day in California. One of his guys even really got killed in the wars and they all ended up in court. The judge was so baffled by the whole thing that he actually threw the case out😊 Count Dante guys, Count Dante please!!! Thanks for your stream man I love this stuff and I also love martial arts fakes! Their so much Fn Fun!!! If I actually had the privilege to meet the legendary Frank Dux I would consider it an honor. Also I want to meet Ashita Kim. I saw real footage of him when Kim was young in competition in South Africa dressed as a Ninja. He was fast as a Ferrari and had some Amazing moves! Loved it and wished I would have put it in my favorites. Damn Stoned again and lost to time!!!😜
Also one more thing. I also know that The Black Dragon Society under Ashita Kim and the other was taken from Count Dantes real one. But that 2 is okay because they have their place because I like the fakes too. However I have Seen the video in South Africa of Kim taken when he was young and he flew pretty damn good man! You gotta see it. He used a lot of arm drag take down and side suplexes but the opponent was fit and completely outmatched by Kim. There was a time when Ashita Kim was a bit of a badass. Ive also seen some rare videos of Count Dante that were eerily impressive. The Count used to eye rake with Tiger Claw a lot. He was the most interesting guy I saw other than Bruce Lee and Joe Lewis. Lewis did know and resoected Dux in the day as well. My Moms ex was a kickboxer Bobby Crittenden and he saw then together before Lewis and Dux. Are you going to say World Champion Joe Lewis was a fake? NO WAY! Lewis trained with Lee and Norris!!! Facts boy Facts!😊
Bro!! What an Honor it must have been to be in the presence of these two legends fantastic interview.. it would be so cool if you could get Scott Adkins on your show keep up the Great work Brother
Another great piece of content from Viking...what else is new? Great work Buddy...such a great channel - especially for guys our age as our interests are so similar.
I needed a 2nd post, just to say this: Frank Dux makes Steven Seagal look like a nice, sincere, humble guy. Thx btw for some top of the notch truth seeking.
I was an early subscriber to the channel and watching David now caught in the middle of Internet Kumite between Dux (when will he defend himself properly instead of sniping from afar) and assorted martial arts figures, stars and even Sheldon Lettich...is just surreal. Fffffffffffffuck I love the Traditional Martial Art & Martial Art movie world, lol.
Guy in Bloodsport: "You must be Frank Ducks, right?" Frank Dux: "No no no, it's dukes." Guy in Bloodsport: "Oh you mean like put up your-" Gene Hackman from Unforgiven: "Ducks. I says."
I’d be content to let Ducks have his gimmicky backstory, LARP as whatever he needs in order to increase membership at his dojo or whatever, but how self righteous he gets defending it is where he loses me.
I mentioned this in another video. I worked at golds gym Venice in the early 90’s. And all those guys used to come in there. Van damme, Olivier gruner, Daniel bernhardt, Mattias hughes , Eric Lee , Francois petit, kamel krifka, Winston omega , Gary Daniels ,etc. and for the most part , they all were talking up there accomplishments to be more than what they actually were. but it was interesting , when Dennis Alexio came around into the gym, they all shut up real quick
wow what an interview. i think my opinions on frank dux are similar to yours viking samurai as where i basically know he's a liar but i want to believe some of the stuff he says or at least believe he is a real martial artist, (i saw videos of him kicking champagne bottles and breaking supposed bulletproof glass) plus the mystery surrounding him is interesting, but we are martial arts movie fans and huge van damme fans and i think that gets in the way of blocking our common sense when it comes to this matter, but i can see where alan and don are coming from they are real fighters who have met frank dux in real life and they hate him with intensity not only because he is mocking (by lying about) what they love (martial arts) but he has also verbally attacked or lied about them directly, and they feel he is dangerous to the sport and can honestly get people hurt. i know you want to give him a fair chance as i think i would too but what alan said sums it up perfectly when they said what is it about frank dux that makes you want to defend him, and alan said its the van damme bloodsport appeal. i know this first hand as a huge van damme fan when i was a teenager and huge bloodsport fan that without frank dux, the greatest martial arts movie would have never got made, also the fact that van dammes character was frank dux himself that only adds more to the appeal, but that doesn't mean he's not a pathological liar lol like don said other people write movies they just don't pretend it is there life story, they admit its just a movie. without the movie bloodsport or van dammes huge star appeal in the 80's and 90's we wouldn't even know or care about frank dux so i do believe 100% that you or me or any van damme fan (anyone who has never met frank dux himself) who kind of defends frank dux is doing it because of our huge love of the movie bloodsport and of van damme himself . i also like how Don "The Dragon" Wilson said he likes the movie bloodsport and he likes van damme in it, that was awesome, because Don "The Dragon" Wilson was a huge name in action movies when i was a teenager the same time van damme was my favorite actor and a megastar. i almost thought don and alan were gonna get mad at you for defending frank dux a little too much, it got intense at times but they were both really cool about it, of course they absolutely hate frank dux but u can tell they have alot of respect for you viking samurai, even calling you by your real name. definitely the most intense interview i have seen on your channel so far. The thing i'm worried about is when you do have frank dux on the channel he may turn on you, sometimes people who feel attacked do that, he has already said bad things about you and you have only defended him, so i have a feeling if you ever talk to him he may attack you to try and save himself.
56 full contact fights in one tournament all ending in knockouts and this happened within 3 days. It’s not possible to have that many full contact fights in one tournament. The preparation for and the recovery from a single full contact fight is extensive to say the least.
True even assuming single elimination that would require 2 to the 55th power competitors, which is a number that far exceeds the human population of the time, even the current human population.
This channel is a gem for anyone born in the 80's and 90's. I've always wanted a channel like this, specifically focused on action/martial arts stars of that era and Viking Samurai always delivers. I almost feel like you are a close friend. Fun story: I remember being 4-5 years old and my father was always at the movie theater close to our house. He would pay a few beers to the guy who sold the tickets at the bar of the movie theater so he would let me in(those movies were for 12 year old and up back then if in not mistaken). He would be scared and tell my father that if they caught him he would get in trouble but my father would just tell him it would be ok. I would sit there dreaming about being like Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Bruce Lee and Van Damme(back then, in Portugal, movies didn't come out at the same time as the US for example so we would have old movies and new movies playing at the same time in theaters, even old the ones from Bruce Lee. Those guys were my heroes. Then the "ticket supervisor" for the lack of a better word would come in to ask for people's tickets, like they do in public transportation and my father would hide me below the seat, since I was so thin and small , so he wouldn't see me. He would then use some thing i dont know the name of to put a hole in the ticket and leave. Then my father would sit me next to him again. Fun fact: that's how I learned how to speak and understand English. Thank you for the amazing content. Hope you keep going for many years.
@@VikingSamurai Thanks! That movie theater is called "cinema paraíso" which translates to cinema paradise or paradise cinema. It's the oldest movie theater in Lisbon. You can even check some pictures of it on the web. A few years back they messed up and started displaying adult movies only if you know what I mean but the memories of seeing all those Rocky, Predator , Terminator, Enter the dragon or even that Stallone movie where he plays a truck driver who arm wrestles, huge posters up in the wall still holds on lol Nowadays they only feature "festival" movies or indie, weird ones. A few years back they started displaying regular ones but my guess is that they didn't sold many tickets and couldn't afford the licenses so they went back to the artsy type movies. They also changed the name to "Ideal Cinema" , probably to get rid of the bad fame that the old movie theater brought by displaying adult movies for years.
I didn't take it that way. Seemed like you was just stating a fact about how he is a great martial artist. It is good to know guys with a keen eye like you are still out there.
I'd like to see Frank Ducks and Steven Segal go back and forth with "true" stories.
Gun Sam_Revolver Aficionado, I bet both Steven Seagal and Frank Dux would lie to each other and make up shit to each other!
at least Seagal is more legit
No no no is dux, got it..... like put up ur dukes!
Hard to Kill and BLOODSPORT still rule;)
This is all true, I was the costume

Don The Dragon! Amazing! Congrats, bro! Van Damme is on the way for sure!
I beleive viking samurai will get van damme eventually
I wouldn’t count out Don “The Dragon” in a fight, even now. Age and wisdom, combined with experience are a deadly combo.
All an old cat like that needs is one good shot. And they usually have the know how to get it lol
That’s ridiculous. He’s 65. He’s slow. No power. No movement.
No disrespect to Don. It’s reality. Sure he could beat up
Some modern day man who has never fought. But not anyone capable or a shred of athletic ability.
He’s small and pushing 70.
Don Wilson would beat the fuck out of Frank Dux any day of this week. They are the the same age and Don will always beat his ass easily for as long as they both live.
@@oldironsides4107 Gene Lebell is in his 80's and if tried him he'd make you cry for your Mommy. Age is only one factor friend...ONE
That was Sam Rockwell
Except in this case, he was trying to steal someone else's film career.
Good comparison
Great interview ! Don Wilson has always come across like a very stand up guy . And unlike Dux has a real record that is verified .

If Frank Dux would've put half the effort that he puts into making up stories into his martial arts training, he would've actually been good for real.

I appreciate that Viking Samurai has been able to get all these legendary people on his show to tell so many great stories and give great perspectives on the behind the scenes of so many movies.
"LYING IS WRONG" - I laughed out loud. That just sums up Frank Dux in 3 words.

That would be a very entertaining movie indeed. Who should play Dux? Will Farrell perhaps?
So did he managed to defeat the Galactic chamption, who is allegedly capable of Destroying whole Planetary system with his fists?
It's forty years later and people are still debating this fraud? He has always been a very delusional and deceitful man.

The story of frank duxs' fake military photo at his in-laws house was priceless. They guy really is fooln not just to his own family but himself!
Frank is still breaking records in his imagination.

also, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, wow, you have gotten much bigger stars on this channel since i have started watching 6 months ago. i don't know alot of the guests you have on, if they are behind the scenes or fight choreographers or directors because i'm a movie buff of all kinds, which includes martial arts movies, (especially from 80s-90s) so i pretty much only know the actors. but i enjoy your videos and i learn who some of these people are only after watching your videos, as a teenager van damme and dolph lundgren were my favorites but Don "The Dragon" Wilson was a huge name in martial arts movies at that time, really i have only seen a few of his movies but to me he's the biggest star on your channel so far. sheldon lettich is of course really big hit action movie wise but he's behind the camera.

Bloodsport is still a great movie. Just don't think it's based on a true story.
If Dux had went awol to go to the secret tournament, the military would have charged him with awol. court-martialed him and discharged him from the service.

I also admire the way that you do not let your guest say things sideways, you make them clear up their statements so there is no question what is being said. Not many interviewers do this, so it's refreshing and greatly appreciated.

This is the most shenanigans post I've read from an ostensibly sane person. I award you 4/5 Duxes.
Dante had legit skills but he just hyped himself up and fell in love with this myth
Bloodsport is derivative of Count Dante's story.

Love Don, met him a few times. Great guy to chat with. Helluva side kick. Don would wipe the floor with Frank the fraud.

@@ashscott6068Count Dante wasn’t the real name of the Din Mak‘s father. Other than that? No objections.

It’s just a game you stand there with your hands down and I’ll stand here with my hands up and let’s see if you can block my strike before it gets in the reason Bruce chose Vic for that game is because Vic was the champion and Bruce knew that and wanted to put himself over
First rule of Kumite is that you don't talk about kumite. It's a VERY secretive event.
Frank Dux: makes two movies and career on it.
Frank Dux is never going to admit he is a fraud. He is in way too deep or as the saying goes, in for a penny, in for a pound.
I believe that lying is a compulsion
For him.

Glad you liked the vid. Good point about the trigger btw!
Dux and Seagal on same podcast would be fun to watch 😂😂
It would be great comedy fiction. 😆

Don "The Dragon" Wilson... one of my favorite kickboxing champs! Love his movies too!
Great video, loving the quality of the guests
Thx btw for some top of the notch truth seeking.
putting don wilson and dux names on same sentence is an offense, don is a legit martial artist
34:48 my favorite part by Sifu Alan. *Bullcrap. Benny said no.*
Without Frank Dux we would never have had Bloodsport so that will be his contribution to the world.
So in a funny way he gave us something tangible.
JCVD Is still the best verison of Frank Dux!
I hope they do another video about this.
Nice work once again viking samurai loved your Rocky IV Review 💪
Man a video on the Black Dragon would be great
I could arrange that
I was an early subscriber to the channel and watching David now caught in the middle of Internet Kumite between Dux (when will he defend himself properly instead of sniping from afar) and assorted martial arts figures, stars and even Sheldon Lettich...is just surreal. Fffffffffffffuck I love the Traditional Martial Art & Martial Art movie world, lol.
Guy in Bloodsport: "You must be Frank Ducks, right?"
Frank Dux: "No no no, it's dukes."
Guy in Bloodsport: "Oh you mean like put up your-"
Gene Hackman from Unforgiven: "Ducks. I says."
My dad use to call Frank Dux a martial art poser twenty years ago.
I’d be content to let Ducks have his gimmicky backstory, LARP as whatever he needs in order to increase membership at his dojo or whatever, but how self righteous he gets defending it is where he loses me.
this is some fantastic stuff. thank you huge for these interviews.
Well said!
Real sad that Frank Dux needs to lie. Just train and be yourself.
This channel is a gem for anyone born in the 80's and 90's.
I've always wanted a channel like this, specifically focused on action/martial arts stars of that era and Viking Samurai always delivers.
I almost feel like you are a close friend.
Fun story:
I remember being 4-5 years old and my father was always at the movie theater close to our house.
I really appreciate you sharing this!
@@VikingSamurai Thanks!
That movie theater is called "cinema paraíso" which translates to cinema paradise or paradise cinema. It's the oldest movie theater in Lisbon. You can even check some pictures of it on the web.
A few years back they messed up and started displaying adult movies only if you know what I mean but the memories of seeing all those Rocky, Predator , Terminator, Enter the dragon or even that Stallone movie where he plays a truck driver who arm wrestles, huge posters up in the wall still holds on lol
Nowadays they only feature "festival" movies or indie, weird ones.
The funniest claim was frank said he was hired to kill Steven seagal
he was i payed him long time ago he still aint got the job dun lol jk
My Karate Sensei Tommy Mccormick knew Sifu Goldberg well. He said Sifu is a man of Honor. I believe everything he is saying.

I didn't take it that way. Seemed like you was just stating a fact about how he is a great martial artist. It is good to know guys with a keen eye like you are still out there.
😁👍
Absolutely loved this episode , can't wait to see more .
Dux is a green belt who put on a black belt but teaching green belt techniques
