Gentlemen . That was great . Thank you .
Thanks Sylvan!
Something of a comic book art gallery! What a great video.
Thanks, many amazing books here🙂
The main narrator has a voice smooth as silk.
Thanks
Fascinating and brilliant to watch. Many thanks
Thanks Peter, glad you enjoyed this one👍
Great video to see all these classic covers and very enjoyable to listen to the comments of such a knowledgeable trio of comic collectors. Great fun!
Thanks very much Gary, hope you're well my friend 🙂
Without doubt one of the best videos you’ve ever done, Jules. I can’t imagine nicer company and a more fun topic to share with my Sunday morning coffee. This channel is an invaluable resource for nostalgic introspection and reverie and these videos are perfectly suited for enlightening, engaging and energizing. Well done to all of you and looking forward to the sequel! ❤
Thanks so much Glen, very kind words indeed my friend. We are in discussions about the sequel🙂
Thanks JB, wonderful vid...
Thanks Ralph!
Wow, these old books certainly brought back a few memories for me. I was 12 when the first batch of DCs became regularly distributed over here and I recall very well picking up 3 from the first batch. Still have them although later re-acquisitions. How nostalgic, the days of spinner racks, logos changing colour each month, saving up enough pocket money to buy them (they were 9d each back then) and discovering Marvel later on. I've always been a DC fanboy at heart. Anyway thanks very much for this Jules - and your fellow presenters also. Great stuff.
Thanks Kenny, great memories my friend. George and Gary have great collections that have been built up over decades, like our vintage paperback collections. 🙂
Another absolutely wonderful piece. Fantastic banter and background chat. Just beautiful. Thank you.
Thanks Martin, we enjoyed filming this one, twice🙂
Great video guys. Just a few guys calmly and intelligently discussing comics. My kind of thing.
Thanks David, we have great time filming this one🙂
Not a collector of this material, however wonderful as always. Never knew the Hulk was supposed to be grey. Ya learn something every day.
Thanks Ian!
The Hulk King Size Special 1is a homage to an early golden age Flash Comics #15 Hawkman splash page. It is almost mirror image.
I did not know that, thanks🙂
Gents Great Show Thanks. It was nice to see loved comics that were not in a CGC Slab
Thanks my friend 🙂
Wally wood revamped Daredevil's costume.
Yeah - Originally someone thought that YELLOW was a appropriate colour for
'The Man Without Fear'!
Lol, yep, you couldn't make it up!
People stealing mail were looking for checks or cash, unfortunately I'm sure that Wrightston art ended up in the trash.
A travesty, but I'm sure you're right👍
@@JulesBurt Even more of a travesty is the fact that the board that most of the old classic pulp & comic covers was painted on ended up getting washed off to be reused again. Hundreds of thousands of masterpieces destroyed forever.
@EugeneLorey yep, very common in the book world.
Re: Speedy "Shooting up" (And the contemporary Spider-man drug issues):
Do you realise that as early as 1910 there was an issue of 'The Magnet' in which one of
Billy Bunter's classmates was discovered in a stupor in the back room of a pub near
Greyfriars school which was being used as an Opium den? (True)
Wow, I did not know that!
