I had one, her name mas Helen Vandaveer but we knew her as meemaw (BEST Grandma), and she is this character to a tee. Growing up she lived in Fort Worth Texas and we live right next door. I remember going over to her house and just talking to her like the kids do in the show. She passed away around 2 years ago, watching this just bring a big ass smile to my face.
I always liked Annie Potts so I watched a few clips from the show. I liked it so now I'm watching Young Sheldon from Season 1 and enjoying all of the main characters. Fun show, and one of my favorite things is that there is no laugh track.

I just need to know what happened in her life that changed her entire body type in TBBT? I understand she would have been 20 years older but she became more mean and heavier than I would have expected Meemaw to let herself go. I also had understand that the producers didn't think about doing a prequel but they might have some kind of thought that it might happen.
is Meemaw related to Penny in some way? I see some similarity's or at least look's its like an old meaner version of penny. what if Sheldon and Panny has the same Meemaw. I miss penny...... sadface
Honestly this show might as well just be Young Georgie. 85% of the clips I see on UA-cam are all of MeeMaw, Georgie, Missy and George. Sheldon is kinda left behind. I haven’t even watched Big Bang Theory.

@Rich Remaly according to wiki trivia. A prequel was never thought of before Jim Parsons brought the idea up.
