To be honest, simple is better. You look at a game like Chess - and yes, I'm pulling the Chess card - it has stood the test of time because it's well designed. There aren't a ton of moving parts. It does what it does and the depth comes from countless hours spent mastering strategies. Tarkov is a cool game, but it's a daunting game. You should not require spreadsheets to understand how the ammo works, but in Tarkov you absolutely do. There's so much external to the game that you need to absorb to even compete. I remember photoshopping maps myself for my friends and I, so we would know our extracts when we were scavs vs pmc's, where valuable loot was, etc. ... it's a hassle to be frank. The game is great, but if you aren't trying to take on a second job then it isn't going to hold your attention. I think this game needs to position itself as Tarkov light, where the feature creep is reduced but the scope and depth of gameplay is not sacrificed. Just because there aren't 43 ammo types, and you need to break down damage into an excel sheet to determine if you should aim for the head or legs, doesn't mean the game is worse off for it. I think this could be a far better game than Tarkov, and all it has to do is achieve addition by subtraction. Reduce bloat. Keep the simple things simple and know where to expand complexity. I am keeping my eye on it, because Tarkov is too exhausting to stay involved in - but this could strike the sweet spot if development proceeds smoothly.
This game looks good but the multiple Steam reviews discussing the number of hackers is not. Hacking is also raised elsewhere such as Reddit. Iv only played 17 hours of it, Its fun but lacks a bit of risk i feel like, Mainly because its not hard to get the best gear in the game. You can spawn in with nothing and the game gives you the gear to go from zero to hero very easily. The ship part of the game was cool for about 20 raids then you realise there is no real point in it yes you can breach other players ships but in not a fan of sitting around in space as another ship 3erd parties you as you are fighting onboard. So i find as soon you you spawn in just dock into the station or AI ships to be the best thing. Ships can be lost really easily so the whole crafting of ships and guns for them i feel is just a waste of materials.
like it so far, but only thing kinda meh about is that all ww2 guns which kinda getting old for me. one thing kinda annoying how long it takes to get out of air lock to loot and end up getting rat out here and there.
The games lore is that in an alternate timeline "the great war" (which probably means ww2 based on the guns) forced humanity into space but the weapons stayed the same.
Its a lot more chill than tarkov, but still feels really similar. I think its worth it and has potential, already has a decent amount of content with more to come. The gear is not too hard to get, so the losses arent as devastating, but those big wins still feel really good.
does this have that survival aspect like tarkov does? i hate the stamina and food and shit you gotta watch for as you play. Tarkov has too much of that
Not really, but as you use your stamina your max stamina gets lowered, and you can replenish your max stamina with food and water. Also same thing for taking damage, your max hp decreases and can be replenished with some painkillers such as morphine, aspirin and S P A C E M E T H.
Idk if I had bad luck with maps or what not but I had to refund the game after I lost all my starting gear because enemies just kept coming and coming to the point where I killed 7 people and the 8th one killed me. 4 raids back to back where this happened was all I could take.
@@lawlessx9 I know that but what made me refund is that I almost never got to loot anything, it was always constant fighting until I died. Might have been bad map luck, but I felt like I was playing CoD not a Tarkov like game
I get your frustration. I got the game yesterday and I haven’t played much about 5 raids. Got all excited about this game and found out it's PVP only. Damn it had so much potential! Soon to be running rampant with aimbots and other hacks. I'll keep an eye on it though
It's PvPvE actually. If you're SO against fighting other players. just rush to the main raid dock, and wait in the airlock until you have about ~12-15m left of air. Most players are long gone by this point and they AI respawn throughout the raid. You're also invinicible as long as you're docked with the station and inside your ship. You need the captains card to open the airlock (which you will have) so you can just wait as long as you like.
the problem with such games is, the community, they dont play for fun they play for loot they dont care they will abuse every game mechanic POSSIBLE to gain the upper hand, tarkov in closed alpha and beta was so good its was peak tarkov, since its public its just play the meta or you lose
They are hoping they dont need them, instead there is a prestige system where after u get lvl 50 you can reset everything except your questline cosmetics, faction reputation and prestige benefits, to earn prestige tokens that can be used to expand your stash, buy cosmetics (only 1 cosmetic available for prestige tokens currently tho) and buy more hangar slots.

@@QueenNaya You can't deny that Tarkov is riddled with hackers. I've not played for a while, but have heard it's bad now. The reason that I haven't played for a while isn't because of hackers btw, I have limited time to waste playing poorly optimised games. And inB4 get a better PC... My PC isn't a potato
@@QueenNaya 7:1 Player:Scav kill ratio labs only 1vXer here. Tarkov is unplayable for good pvpers nowadays.
Don't @ me if you do geriatric activities like fighting ai or doing quests. Your opinion on hackers is genuinely worthless unless you can go from 300k to 30m playing only labs because hackers don't waste their time in the boomer/newbie maps
Might check it out, been on The Cycle Frontier which is extraction as well
Appreciate you covering this game man!
This deserves more likes. Extremely informative
If there is one thing I am tired of, its WW II shooters....and now there is a spaceshooter with....WW II weapons.
It's like a mini "more completed" version of what Star Citizen is doing!! 😃
Love the look of this game but at 55 I just can't compete pvp with the younguns. Might still give it a whirl and see how bad I get pwned.
Tarkov without the 10 minute load times
like it so far, but only thing kinda meh about is that all ww2 guns which kinda getting old for me. one thing kinda annoying how long it takes to get out of air lock to loot and end up getting rat out here and there.
LoL scifi game in future and in arzenal is MP- 40 from WW2. Its crazy
Yeah its a strange weapon choice but its cool!
its set in an alternate 1990's future.
The games lore is that in an alternate timeline "the great war" (which probably means ww2 based on the guns) forced humanity into space but the weapons stayed the same.
is there an option to play against only the AI?
some EFT players here to share opinions about this game ? is it worth the money and does it have the potential to coexist with EFT ?
Its a lot more chill than tarkov, but still feels really similar. I think its worth it and has potential, already has a decent amount of content with more to come. The gear is not too hard to get, so the losses arent as devastating, but those big wins still feel really good.
Thanks for the review, yeah I’m gonna get it! Maybe sometime we all can play together I’m not too bad at Tarkov!
does this have that survival aspect like tarkov does? i hate the stamina and food and shit you gotta watch for as you play.
Very easy to follow and understand and no fluff you have my sub ❤️
Idk if I had bad luck with maps or what not but I had to refund the game after I lost all my starting gear because enemies just kept coming and coming to the point where I killed 7 people and the 8th one killed me. 4 raids back to back where this happened was all I could take.
You get a free pistol and ammo in your ship to use when you need to go hunting on the cheap
@@lawlessx9 I know that but what made me refund is that I almost never got to loot anything, it was always constant fighting until I died. Might have been bad map luck, but I felt like I was playing CoD not a Tarkov like game
@@reptofeliator Best rule in Tarkov is " There is always one more" . Feels bad you got bad luck
I get your frustration. I got the game yesterday and I haven’t played much about 5 raids. But the thing I’ve noticed is the second you open that decompression door they are people absolutely everywhere. Like there’s no down time to explore and loot because every 3 seconds enemies are coming at you. I dunno if I was unlucky too but my experience has been very similar to yours.
git gud maybe, sounds like youre complaining because you couldnt kill the 8th guy.
Got all excited about this game and found out it's PVP only. Damn it had so much potential! Soon to be running rampant with aimbots and other hacks. I'll keep an eye on it though
Been playing for a while, haven’t ran into anything too suspicious, i definitely get my share of kills too. You should consider getting it.
Can you talk to enemies in local voice chat like Tarkov?
No, but you have some voiceline keybinds like "Help!" "Hold fire!" and "FUCK YOU!" They might add it sometime though, idk.
the problem with such games is, the community, they dont play for fun they play for loot they dont care they will abuse every game mechanic POSSIBLE to gain the upper hand, tarkov in closed alpha and beta was so good its was peak tarkov, since its public its just play the meta or you lose
sorry to ask can u
use a controller
I have a steam deck I want it but I see only 40fps I like 60 so idk if I’ll buy,is it PVP only over it had PVE stuff.
is this gonna have season wipes like tarkov?
They are hoping they dont need them, instead there is a prestige system where after u get lvl 50 you can reset everything except your questline cosmetics, faction reputation and prestige benefits, to earn prestige tokens that can be used to expand your stash, buy cosmetics (only 1 cosmetic available for prestige tokens currently tho) and buy more hangar slots.
Do you lose all the money you have if you die?
Will pick this one up.
Defo!
Yes. There, go buy it!
I had this on my wishlist, was pretty excited for it, but it’s not looking as good as I expected. I think I’ll stick with The Cycle: Frontier, I think that’s king of the genre atm now that they’ve finally tackled the hacker issue.
You’re entitled to your own opinion, not bashing, but you wouldn’t say that Tarkov is king of the genre? It did create the genre essentially
@@loganmassey1295 Tarkovs fun for the lil bubble of pve questers that go on the badly designed and boring maps and do abitrary and quite often plain retarded skinnerbox quest progression every wipe but if you're a pvp player the game is fucked and battlestate hates you and will never allow you to sell pve player squads expensive loadouts on the flea ever again.
I find it ironic that they put realistic reload animations in but not magazines
Bethesda should be taking notes cuz their looter shooter Fallout 76 was a buggy failure
tarkov + cod vanguard + everspace = this
I didn’t understand he was saying inventory until like halfway into the video
No single player or pve
About to buy, looking at reviews :))
Can I play this entirely solo? Like, with only AI?
No
No, i have no idea why so many people want the game to be PvE only?
@@hittite_gaming I don't want it to be PvE only - I just wanna be able to play it on my garbage internet without a disadvantage :)
@@hittite_gaming some people like to play just PvE. For me, I would like the option to do only PvE because sometimes I don’t want to play against other people, but sometimes I would like to. It’d be nice to have a toggle able option or something.
@@345Jared its just i feel like i have never seen anyone want to as much as with this game
I definitely would if I had the money to spend
Definitely better than buy the edge of darkness (tarkov) in 2018 tbh 🤣🤣🤣
Defo!
I think the guns that are featured doesn't fit the setting of the game, you'd think at least they would have guns modern to the time now
This game will do great !
I hope so!
Very in depth video. Thanks
The game looks fun, but what throws me off is the fact that it's pvp. If I wanna die and lose all the shit I spent hours finding. Then I'd just play DayZ or Rust - which I don't, because looter shooters that's pvp focus are not my forte. It doesn't make it any better that your ship isn't a safe haven either.
If I didnt have to play with other toxic, cheating, lagging humans I'd give it a go.
Same. It's set up for PVE just need to allow local servers but PVP only. No thanks. I don't have time to compete with some of the basement dwellers that will be flooding the game. Especially since you lose all your stuff upon death. Will be keeping an eye on it though
what game is this?
hmm..ship takes damage and the engine overheats lol.....what kind of universe is this???
I bought this game at 21 dollars it defnetly worth the price
I don’t understand the question in the Name of the video 😜 the answer is obviously YES 🙌
Great review mate
Another game to be filled with cheaters like Tarkov, the state of PVP nowadays, amazing.
Let's hope not
dont know if ill be buying this or not
should i buy tarkov or this game
Tarkov no doubt
gotta love these tarkov kids saying Marauders is shit and why would anyone play Marauders when tarkov as alot more content lol Marauders has been in development for like 3 years and been out for 1 year, tarkov as been in development for like 10 years and has been out for like 7 years, these tarkov kids really do make me laugh
Starkov !
0:55 sounds like Rust
just bought it, looks nice
How are you liking it after 5 days in?
Game set in space with futuristic ships but using outdated weapons?
right??? That luger is from ww2!
It’s set in an alternate 1990s where the war never ended
@@qrator6882 still doesnt make sense, you dont get space travel and Lugers from 1990.
@@rpscorp9457 ww2 went to shit and people had to evacuate into space. No time for weapon development when you have to quickly manage to find a way to get to space lmao.
I'm thinking this should run fine on my PC.just looked at specs on steam my system is well above it lol
This is what happens when the HLL peeps make a survival game. Looks tits.
No idea if the some of the HLL devs joined the devs who made this
@@Terrydactyl he’s just joking lol
I get its early access but it looks very bare bones for the $30 price. I'll prob wait to purchase
Game would be good, but this space ww2 settings not acceptable for me.
jew
It already feels great, unlike Tarkov the gunfights are actually fun and enjoyable
bullshit
my takeaway is that the game is too expensive for what it is
Hunt showdown in space, I'm in for it
Yeah sort of, but more focus on looting!
@@Terrydactyl yeah true
This game is dipshit fun
Yes you should
Sounded so fun until the PVP.
Oh well. Hopefully some other game like it comes alongs without it.
you want a PvE extraction game ?
@@PyroArtisanYes.
8/10 times I didn't even make it to the loot ship 😎
looks like they took some HLL devs to make this. you can see it in the art style and animations. no wonder HLL is at a standstill.
I think its just a team of under 10 people that made this
I like the concept of the game but i am done with world war weapons
"You lose everything" that's all I needed to hear to avoid this game.
Already did
This game is frustrating because I can't even play it. Matchmaking is ass, and I haven't been able to connect to a single match in over an hour. Might as well refund soon.
i've spent the last 20 years playing on console. so only having mouse and keyboard is really bad for me. The mouse is fine but using wasd and ctrl and shift and all the other keys really fucks with me for some reason. luckily they are working on controller support for people like me.
Doesn't help i broke my arm 3 weeks ago and dont have full motion in my left arm. controller is just easier to use with that cuz i only have to move my thumb and pointer finger instead of using my whole hand.
just practice its like learning guitar you will learn in about a week or two
