I really wish you could do more than just spin around with it though. Seriously, the fire sword let you hold it upward and even throw it, making it an all-round better weapon/ability choice, and all you could do with the lightsaber was spin and twirl... It's a waste of potential honestly.
Raffaele Vitali it's kinda a downer when comparing it to other cutter abilities from other Kirby games. Instead of launching 3 blades at a time, in this game it's only once. Wish they executed the cutter ability better in Kirby 64.
The bomb-cutter was a super OP ability. Its essentially a hitscan weapon with no actual projectile. If any enemy is within the horizontal view range infront of kirby, it will get hit no matter how far you are.
You can feel the detail and effort and just all out love that they poured into this game and alot of these are cute and fit with kirby cutesy vibe I wish more game allowed you to combo abilitys
Thank you for a nostalgic trip back to my kid days. I think this was the first game that my parents ever bought me and I remeber playing it on christmas when I got it with the N64. My grandparents were there and my dad helped me defeat the first boss who I think was a friend of Kirby who got corrupted. I didn't know how to defeat him (I was seven years old then) and my dad simply said: "Spit the star on him" and it worked :D Thanks again for this awesome video this really took me back and made me smile. I always liked the double lightning ability best.

Damn this game was amazing it had so many combinations even you can combine the same ability for a stronger one. The fact this N64 game can do all this and this ability idea wont even be tried again until Kirby Squeak Squad shows how good this game is!
Honestly I think Pitch is the best Animal Buddy statue. Let’s look at the alternatives, SHALL WE? Rick is only useful in wall scaling situations Coo is Pitch but he suffers something the others do as well (I’ll get onto that in a second) Kine is honestly made to be useless. There is no way he is useful, even in water despite being a fish. Nago is Rick but he can’t even wall scale And Chu Chu can only jump. Pitch, in the other hand, isn’t able to walk like Rick or Nago, but he does have some ground movement (the rock rolling) and he actually has a very unique property: He’s fast. The others suffer from slowness. In most situations, Kirby is much better for finishing the level quickly. Pitch is faster than Kirby however and almost the only quality that would make you want the Animal Buddies ability.

So fire + ice is the worst power up in the game, if not the entire franchise. But there is one thing it's good for, challenge runs. After beating the game, all there was hardly anything left for me to do other than grind for the remaining cards. That's when I had the brilliant idea of completing the game with only fire and ice. The run is difficult, but it's actually quite fun because it requires more focus and less button mashing. The most annoying part of the run tends to be long ranged enemies. If you want a real challenge, that's an option
This is the kind of game mechanic that wasn't really uses that much. That would be great if we can have this in modern Kirby games with the new abilities.

I prefer the single power with a whole array of moves you can do like we see in Super Star, but I liked seeing what all of these were when I was playing, was really funny to see Kirby turn in to a fridge and things like that.

Needle + Bomb: Poppy Bros Jr. or Bomb Kirby uses Friend Ability, then Needle Kirby or Togezo (Needle friend) hops on, creating a Spike Bomb out of them, which is thrown by Poppy Bros Jr. or Bomb Kirby.
Bomb + Spark: Zap Bomb Mode Robobot Waddle Dee's bombs will look like light bulbs.
Stone + Bomb: Poppy Bros Jr. or Bomb Kirby uses Friend Ability, then Stone Kirby or Rocky hops on, creating dynamite, and the Friend Ability is.... never mind. I'm tired.

So fire + ice is the worst power up in the game, if not the entire franchise. But there is one thing it's good for, challenge runs. After beating the game, all there was hardly anything left for me to do other than grind for the remaining cards. That's when I had the brilliant idea of completing the game with only fire and ice. The run is difficult, but it's actually quite fun because it requires more focus and less button mashing. The most annoying part of the run tends to be long ranged enemies. If you want a real challenge, that's an option

That lightsaber Kirby looks super cool. And the idea that Ice + Spark = Fridge is so cute
I prefer the single power with a whole array of moves you can do like we see in Super Star, but I liked seeing what all of these were when I was playing, was really funny to see Kirby turn in to a fridge and things like that.
