Good video. My mrs should be getting her Techno Esprit Alpine mid to late March in Matte Shadow Grey. She was going for the Sportage originally but opted for the Renault which did surprise me, but after test driving both models she preferred the Austral. Good looking car too.
Thanks for watching mate. Good luck with the new purchase! 🙌🏼
Great video! Keep up the great work.
Thanks mate!
Great video again. Did not even know this car existed.
I think the PHEV concept is a dead end. Sadly, at least in the UK they are mostly bought by company car drivers for the tax benefit, who will then not charge it. And because they do not charge it, the manufacturers collect false data about usage and will make bad decisions, for example not including a DC charger on the latest GLC PHEV, because… “our usage reports show no need for it” so people then do not buy them because it lacks a DC charger…
Anyways. Glad to see the list of features, it is possible to put all this into a mid range spec, heated steering, driving assistance, things you can only dream of when driving a Mercedes 😅
That’s interesting to hear… never thought of that before. My GLE was pretty much the same, there was a sudden ban on site at Slough when I got my hybrid so it was a pointless exercise in the end 🙃 self charging is the way forward I guess… goes to show even a 1.2 with 200bhp will be plenty for most people 👌🏼
The protective peel was statistfing thank you for that±
Finally! Someone appreciated it haha. You’re welcome and thanks for watching.
Got mine yesterday (the mid model) this car is awesome I love it ,for me the only thing that let's it down is the reverse camera ,I traded in a car 11years older n the camera on that is far better ,that's my only gripe 😊
Congrats! Thanks for watching!
they should add better quality camera since visibility from back window is really limited
Absolutely love it mate! Fantastic video and really brought some great insight on this car! Never rhought I'd hear of a day where remault can match the likes of mercedes in any sort of way!
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great video. Really informative. We getting one tommorrow can't wait.
Thank you very much and congrats!
Great video
More please
Sunday another one 🤪
Nicely done, enjoyed the video! Waiting for the Australe to come to India 😊
Thank you!
when is the phev coming?
Great video. It helped me make my final decision. Im getting one in April!! Nice one. 😊🎉
Glad it helped! Thank you for watching :)
oil dilution?!
That key is incredible and so is this review.
Your DP is sublime, as is your comment.
Hi There and thanks for the review it was informative and amusing.
Seeing as you spent some time with the car, am I right in saying that in order to increase re-generative braking you have to press the negative paddle and to reduce the re-generative braking you have to press the positive paddle, which seems opposite to what you would expect.
Thanks again,
"B"
Thanks B :) no the other way around. Positive for more regen and negative to reduce regen 👍🏼
Great video, thanks. I test drove one the other day and ordered straight away. I’ve gone for the mid range model, which imo offers the most value for money. I can’t wait for it to be delivered now. I’m going from a Volvo XC40 inscription Phev, and tbh, it comes nowhere near the Renault in all the important areas.
Thank you! Congrats on the purchase!
Were you able to test if the 0-60 time actually holds up? It says 8.4s but I’ve seen videos of it taking ~9.3s. Great review nonetheless!
Thanks mate, appreciate you watching. Sadly not, I don’t have the equipment to accurately measure the times… yet 😁
Loved the video. Gabi loved the jokes
Almost as good as my dad jokes
@@GoksCarLounge almost 😅
Did you say this Mid spec had wireless charging? I thought that was a feature only included in the top spec
Yes that’s right the Techno has wireless phone charger. This is a UK spec in case you’re watching from somewhere else… might be different in other regions.
@@GoksCarLoungeYh, I'm in the UK. I was under the impression that that feature was only in the Iconic (Top) rather than the next spec down - Techno Esprit Alpine
I'm Looking at these and 38-40mpg around town is worse than my 2 litre diesel bmw running 230hp. Which will consistently get 46mpg around town. Just goes to show these are Still a bit gimmicky. I have a test drive in one tomorrow though. We'll see.
Long live diesels! our GLC is a 3lt V6 ! It is still early days I think but not having to plug in is good. Imagine having to plug it in and STILL getting same results… thanks for watching :)
@GoksCarLounge I just don't get where the electric saves you any money here though, many cars will do 40mpg or better around town, if its working in electric around town a lot of the time how on earth is it only getting 38mpg? I don't see the benefits of it really, I'd like to but it doesn't make sense to me how it can be so uneconomical on fuel around town if its only using electric? Can't get my head around that. Lol
The best hybrid is only AS good as diesel… but 🤷🏻♂️ apparently it’s the devils fuel
@@GoksCarLounge does it feel like a 200hp 'car' to drive?
How was the test drive??
Let me check , you said 30 odd mpg ?? Did I get that right ?
I have range rover 3.0 V6 that does better - how utterly disgusting
Having owned a BMW X5 which had a 3.0 I6 diesel, a GLE350d with a 3.0 V6 and now a GLC350d with a 3.0 V6 - I can all but guarantee your RR does not get 30 or better than 30mpg.
Let’s not forget the caveat being “constant start stop/ mimicking town driving”
Thank you for watching.
