There were more endings filmed like Gimli is in the Glittering Caves and looks at jewels he mined from there, one where Legolas walks through Lothlorién by himself and the wedding of Faramir and Èowyn. Those were cut as were so many endings already and all those four characters were at Aragorn's coronation anyway. Those amongst other scenes not even included in the Extended Cut were promised with a 20:th anniversary edition but it still has yet to happen.
I remember watching this in the theaters, super pumped, but halfway through I started to have to piss. I'd be damned if I missed a min of this movie. By the time we got to the slumber party scene at the end I could have torn my seat out of the theater I was in so much pain. So yeah, could have cut the lovey dovey crap at the end.
The only reason people say that isnt hecause of the actual content, but the editing. Simply put it, so many fade to black/whites, pullouts to show the map for the final time, etc.
I was coming here to say this. It isn't that there are six plot threads to tie up. It's that the way they are presented imply that this is the end...but wait...there's more. Yeah, it's nice to see Frodo live and reunite with the surviving Fellowship, get back to the Shire, see that life can continue on, but that Bilbo and Frodo aren't going to stay because they have been touched by the Ring and are going to their reward. But if you keep fading out, if you don't tie the events together, if you don't supply sufficient narrative to keep the story going and with sufficient need to tell it, then it falls apart.
Not enough endings 🥲
If anyone tries to explain to you something about why the lord of the rings movies were bad you just gotta cut them off
I want more endings, i wanted the ending of every single member of the fellowship, and rohan and gondor😂

I only complained about the number of endings was I desperately needed to go to the toilet.
I remember how pissed off everyone was to watch them continue to keep walking at the end of the first movie.

Scourging of the Shire? A whole plot line that was important to the ending that was completely ignored.
Well those criticism can be thrown around then away.
WOVEN, not "weaved". 🤔🤨🤦🤷🙄
What are they complaining about? The ending is missing, I was so disappointed!
No tom bombadil
