wow. I've only skiied once but to me this just looks like paradise. its hard for me to fathom that places like this really exist and people get to experience this
Old night liftie and patroller here. 5 times in 1 day was the most times I skied Tunnel Creek off the backside of Cowboy. I could do it on Friday's when the ski school instructors who camped in RV's were coming up all day for the weekend parking lot camp out and the late day/ Friday night skiers. Those RV's would always stop to pick you up in the US2 Tunnel Creek hairpin corner long before hitchhiking was a ticketable offense. You had to boogie all day and luck into quick rides from cars/RV's to get back up the summit, up C-1 and get that last chair up Seventh and 5th run down............ Great video.
Yeah there are some big lines that get doable once the snow fills in a bit more. A few years ago I saw someone fly through the trees and tap the platform that I dropped off.
Dad of 3, Sr. SW dev living on the Ice Coast. Want this life, want MTB trails out of my backyard, tired of the decrescendo that is winter in the East. Where should I move off of RT 2 or RT203 that is good balance between COL and central location between city/wilderness? Cheers
Right on, let's gooo! The best for MTB out the backyard would be Fall City on 203 or anywhere along I-90 between Issaquah and North Bend. Living along I-90 kind of locks you in to skiing at Snoqualmie Pass though which gets worse snow than the other mountains like Stevens, Crystal, Baker, etc. Another option would be living in Bellingham and biking at Galbraith and skiing at Baker.
Not too sure on rental spots. The mountain has rentals and demos (I think the demos are solid all mountain skis (Nordica Enforcers)? There's the Stevens Pass Snowboard shop in Gold Bar that also has ski demo and rentals (if you're going from the Westside). For runs, totally depends on the snow and your ability. If there's pow then check out Tye Mill. If there isn't then the groomers on the backside can be fun and sunny.
Been boarding Stevens for 38 years now and Tye Mill is still one of my favorites, we’ve had so many killer powder turns back there. I’ve also seen some of the old school Stevens Pass hardcores like Matt Godwill launch those lines 25-30 years ago. One day while heading up on the chair local ripper Robbie Capell was bombing under the chair and hit the same kicker @.37 seconds but he landed next to the next Riblet.
Great video bro! Do you worry about tree holes? I board in socal so I don't see much fresh powder, but I'm going to Colorado soon and want to hit tree runs but don't know how to properly and safely approach them.
Thank you! Yes, always worried about tree wells on a powder day. Evergreen trees are the most dangerous - ski with a buddy and/or keep a good distance if it's deep
Looks pretty great! I'm missing hitting lines like this as I am at college on the east coast. I had a great time at Stevens and Crystal when I was home on break. Where'd you get those poles? I've been looking for a set with grips like that for a while
It was great! We got lucky with an epic December (you must've been around on break for part of that)! The poles are spares from a friend bc mine broke but I'm loving the grips!
I'm on K2 Pinnacle 105s. I don't think they make em anymore but any modern all mountain ski with rocker, camber, rocker in the 100mm range for width should be good!
I love the energy from all the people watching from the lift
Same here, that was a fun one!
if😂p😢 i 😊 thank 🎉
That’s Stevens pass for ya. People are stoked.
wow. I've only skiied once but to me this just looks like paradise. its hard for me to fathom that places like this really exist and people get to experience this
It's a beautiful place and I'm very lucky to live here!
Nicely skied, nicely filmed. A pleasure to watch this. Good vibrations. Woooohoo! Jay
Thank you! Always trying to get better at skiing and filming. Appreciate the good vibes
Stevens used to be mybhome mountain for over 10 years; this video brings abck many nice memories.
Right on, thanks for sharing 🤙

Great video.
5 in one day, wow! That sounds fun and exhausting. Thanks for sharing!
legend !!
that was the coolest ski video i have seen in a long time.
I've been inspired.
Right on, glad you liked it and got inspired!
That's one thing I like about American skiing is that people always encourage you from the lift. in the alps no one makes a sound.
The lifts can get so rowdy! I'm sorry to hear no one makes a sound in the alps
These lines look amazing. Definitely want to go there someday.
Thank you!
Dude you are a beast! Some of those lines off tye, the camera doesn’t do justice. Keep shredding 🤘🏻
Man thank you! Still some bucket list lines in that zone to try 🤙
Gooood skiing dad! Nothing tooo crazy but plenty of not quite trouble sendy sendy fun :)
Thanks for sharing, stay safe, keep at it!
Thanks, glad you like the video! Ya, still learning and slowly pushing my comfort zone. There's always something to work on!

Never thought you could hit the cliff to the side of Tye rock, pretty sick!
Yeah there are some big lines that get doable once the snow fills in a bit more. A few years ago I saw someone fly through the trees and tap the platform that I dropped off.

You are an animal. Stevens pass looks wild! Tons of expert steeps
Thank you! There's so much fun terrain there
Sick video. I gotta go there one day
Thanks dude! Looks like you've been having a good winter as well
I have a trip there in 2 days can you give a recommendation for a local shop to rent skis and what runs are worth checking out?

Ski on
Nice man
Thanks!
Love seeing people not blast music over there videos especially under the chair aha
Glad you like it! I agree. Big fan of the raw audio
@@skibikesurfdad I went under the chair once on a huge pow day and sent a cliff. I obviously didn’t land but it was fun hearing everyone
That's awesome! I love the community aspect of skiing. Glad you got to experience that.
where do u have ur go pro mounted?
It's a the top of my helmet, an inch or two forward of center

Love Tye Mill on a pow day! Awesome stories, thanks for sharing
Don't forget Tim Capell! The heavy duty chain for a snowboard leash was always a nice touch!
Bro where are you going down? Did you hike to get to some of those places?
Some lift access via Tye Mill and Seventh Heaven but also some hiking!
Great video bro! Do you worry about tree holes? I board in socal so I don't see much fresh powder, but I'm going to Colorado soon and want to hit tree runs but don't know how to properly and safely approach them.

@@skibikesurfdad For sure, thanks. Keep up the content and be safe out there!

What are you filming on and what settings?
GoPro Hero 9. Filming in 4k, 30fps, superview
where is this mountain mate?
Stevens Pass, Washington State, USA
Yo you have 1.09k subs but I think you deserve 1.09 mil
Yo thank you!
lovin your content man, wish i was good enough to hit some of those lines
Thanks, glad you like it. You can get there!
Looks pretty great! I'm missing hitting lines like this as I am at college on the east coast. I had a great time at Stevens and Crystal when I was home on break.

stowe's got hits, mrg has hits, smuggs has hits
What ski is that? I’m a complete beginner and live near Stevens so I’m looking for a ski suited to Stevens’ snow.
I'm on K2 Pinnacle 105s. I don't think they make em anymore but any modern all mountain ski with rocker, camber, rocker in the 100mm range for width should be good!
is this all inbounds? great content.
Thanks! Just a small section around 3 min is technically out of bounds.
Where is this?
Stevens Pass, Washington State!
Fuckin beautiful man!
Thanks man!
My dad would be so tired doing this 😂
Haha
Ты экстремальный, почти как я )
I'm form Stevans pass 2, we should ski together.
See you up there!
Yoooooo
Yooooo
These folks never stops until they break a leg or rib. Well respected courage but no thank you always on groomed for me
Until? Nah we break it, recover, then get right back into it before recovery is 100% complete.😂
Beginner:let me follow the tracks and see where it goes…
haha
So jealous...
So lucky!
Bro is a npc 😂
Haha thanks. Plenty of crashing and learning still
well i bord
Love this content! Wheres the avalanche gear tough?🥹
Thank you! We always use avalanche gear in the backcountry and sometimes in the resort on high avy danger days.
