I bought a 2016 5.0 6spd in 2019 from Autonation Pinellas Park Florida(Outside of St. Pete for those who don't know) I learned how to upshift in like 5min and downshift in like 30min, MAINLY bc the sales person was a cool ass youngster..... he took me for a ride and taught on the fly.... been driving manual ever since.... it's not hard, nor is difficult to learn.....
when i bought my first car a 2017 maro v6 manual, i got pissed when i was money shifting and jumping a lot that I even wanted to return the car to the dealer lol
😂 I feel you. At first it can be difficult and you’ll question yourself for getting a manual. But I promise in a month or so once you start getting your shifting and rev matching and get used to it it’s all worth it. It’s just traffic that mainly sucks with a manual but it’s all muscle memory to me now. And it just doesn’t feel right driving an auto
How fast do you release the clutch when downshifting? Is it the same speed and if I was to normal shift upwards just release it right away or do you release it slowly?
@@thenextgear2012 i have learned to downshift it has been a quite easy thing to do the only think that bothers me is my transition which is a bit trash but a friend of mine has a 2000 corolla with a 1.6L swap and i downshift that with ease and it has a beautiful exhaust tune to it so its cool going to stops downshifting now i have been trying to learn the heel and toe technic but my gas pedal is a lot lower than the break so it is definitely harder. Thanks for the video🔥🔥🔥
People making this way too complicated. Learn your car. For example , my car downshifts at 1000 rpm. Doesn't matter what gear you are in. For me until it drops to 1000 rpm, I can't down shift. It's that simple. You can be in 8th gear at 45 or 7th . It must drop to 1000 rpm
Kind of. Ex: You're in 6th gear, but want to go in 5th. Take foot off gas. Push in clutch. Move Stick to 5th gear. "Feather" your foot off the clutch (so car doesn't jerk hard). Press on gas once foot is off of clutch.
@@armandonavaaa366 LOL Yes pretty much! In all fairness, he was explaining about RPMs which is important on when to downshift. I just stated the process of downshifting. Here's my simplified explanation of RPMs: If you're above 1,800 RPMs, shift up. If you're below 1,200 RPMs downshift. Your goal is to be at 1,500 RPMs.
@@luciusael Each car is different, but with my car, I don't have my foot on the gas when downshifting. But if I have my foot on the clutch a little bit longer than expected, and my car slows down while coasting to the speed I want, then I'll press on the gas a tiny bit to finish downshifting.

I do it around the same speed maybe a little faster sometimes. It just all depends on how I’m driving and what kind of downshift I’m doing
👍🏿
I got a toyota yaris 2004 but it doesn't get in gear when i try to downshift without gas now with giving it gas I haven't tried it yet
Give it a try for sure

So you basically give it a little gas on whatever gear you’re down shifting too??
Is it necessary to shift to N while you blip the throttle?
No
Man I can’t do it !! 😂
Haha you got it man just keep on practicing. It took me a little while to get it down! 😂
When you blip the throttle how much force should press on the gas pedal ? Like if you can tell me in percentage
About 20-30% solid tap for crusing speed..... it also depends on how your driving too
@@garrenturk4093 yes I know that now I got my car about 8 months ago w no manual driving experience but now i can downshift and rev match
