Dude the camera angles with the explanations is perfect. This should help out a lot of new stick drivers!
😊
@@BrinkofSpeed seriously he needs more views
Just got a ZL1 a couple days ago and this video is really helping me get better at driving manual. I was a bit scared of burning my clutch up
Sweet, I’m so happy it helped you. Congratulations on your ZL1!
I need a refresher.
My first and only stick car was a BRAND NEW OFF THE DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM FLOOR 1975 SILVER TRANS AM.
Loved that car!!!
Feather the clutch, feather the accelerator, get your legs in unison and before you know it, it becomes second nature. Great informative video! Great to see you back to your roots! No sidekicks necessary!!
SAVE THE MANUALS!!!
Heck yeah!!!
I'm trying 😂😂😂😂
I had never driven a stick shift until I found a 98 Camaro SS that I just had to have. I grew up in south Georgia, but was living in a more northern part of the state when I found the car online, and it was in north Tennessee. My dad drove up and we went to get the car. He taught me how to drive it - IN THE MOUNTAINS. You learn real quick in the mountains 😂
Same
Ive watched tons videos on manual transmission cars, this was probably the best one no bs, for numerous reasons. First and foremost i plan on getting a camaro SS, and secondly i wanted to see how a stick shift would drive in a Camaro. Im totally sold 💯💪🏾 thank you brother
Awesome! I’m so glad this helped you! 😊
I grew up in Europe with automatic transmissions being very rare back in the day. I m in my early 40s and i took my drivers exam with a manual. Instructor would ask you to reverse parallel park on a hill without killing the engine and slipping the car. Friction zone and understanding the dynamics of the clutch was a must. I have been living in the states for 20 years now and have a 22 2ss 1le camaro with manual transmission as my toy weekend car. The joy and engagement that i get from the Tremec is unreal.
I’m going from a 1992 ford explorer to a 2010s Camaro and the first time I drove in the Camaro I burned that clutch BAD. I’ve been spoiled with the explorers clutch…
This helped me a lot, I always wanted to drive a manual for my first car
Awesome, I’m so happy it helped you! 😊
Great video! I can't wait for my 2SS 6MT to arrive. I miss driving a stick, it's been YEARS!
Thank you 😊
One thing to mention would be how to practice clutch equilibrium on inclines to prevent rollback and stalls.
Sure enough, but most of the newer cars have auto hill assist. There’s a break that holds the car until you let the clutch out.
I always hated being on a hill and starting to drift back or stahl it out or being on a hill, parked between two cars with little room between the cars
I truly hope you learn how to drive a manual from this video 😊👍

Been driving a 2012 kia forte for the past 12 years and last week i bought a manual 23’ LT1. I haven’t had this much fun driving for so long. Little rusty driving stick but man do i love it!
i got a 1986 z-28 iroc and its my only car and im trying to learn to drive manual !! ty for this video !!!
Amazing video! Love the different angles showing how to clutch in and out. 😀
Takes a little bit of practice Learn how to drive a car on a manual after a while it becomes 2nd nature Thank you for the video take care
Sure enough and you’re welcome! 😊
Just got 2015 ss/rs it’s my first manual your video gives me confidence
This video helped, looking to get a 1LE SS Manual 👏
We need more manual videos! This was very helpful thanks.
So much for the 'theft insurance.' You just leaned them! Haha
Smashed !!!!!
Thanks for the tips I’m getting a 2014 Camaro zl1 tomorrow and it’s my first manual
You’re welcome, and congratulations 🙌😊
i am going for a ride in my c7 m7 sunday nicer weather up north finally
This is a beautiful thing 😊
Just got myself a 2013 Camaro SS manual and it is my first time ever driving a stick shift. So far I’m pretty bad I keep stalling or bogging the engine when releasing the clutch in 1st gear mostly. Even tho I’ve only had a few hours of time to practice since I got it, it’s very nerve wracking but ik it’ll all be worth it once I finally get better and am able to drive it daily
How has it been since you posted it?
This was well done Mike. I know how to drive a manual, but I would need you to teach me how to drive a C8 automatic. I wouldn't know what to do with those frigg'n paddles. The only paddles I'm familiar with are the ones for canoeing and kayaking. 🤣 Save the Wave 🙋♂
Thank you Peter, I’ll teach you anytime. 😊
Just totaled mines last wk now im looking for a manual one I wanna get into it
Manual transmission can be an Anti Theft Device lol
Hi yess manual rules 😊👍
Liked and Subscribed!
Hey, can you do a video about the right times to shift smoothly so I do NOT jerk my passenger(s) all over the place when shifting please. (Both when driving normally and when driving more aggressively/racing). I seem to do ok sometimes but there’s other times when my passenger(s) have to schedule a chiropractor visit.
Thank you for this video. I panic on the highway - I got confused with break, clutch and gas pedal downshifting. I end up in the ditch 😩
THE CARRRR 😍😍😍😍😍
Quick question love the video and been looking at alot of learning to drive manual channels. And the question is.... would you advise someone to buy a cheaper car and practice on that or to get something they want and try and practice with that particular vehicle?
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed this. I would just get the car you want and learn on it. 😊
@BrinkofSpeed Thank you! And yes that's what i was thinking instead of buying twice. Love the content lately!
what do you tink about the camaro rs 2016? Is a nice car?
I used to feather the gas peddle when I was learning to drive a manual. Just a lil. That was years ago tho lol.
Some people still do that, but most provide slight constant pressure nowadays. Reverse is different, you gotta feather than bad boy 😂
Yo tengo un corvetee automático y manual como lo manejo en manual gracias
Waiting on a 24 2ss to land for me is gonna be a 6 speed didn't know if it was much different than a 5 speed
Do you need to blip the throttle if you downshift to a stop?
You don’t need to, but it does help make the downshifting much smoother.
Driving a stick since 1983 , still do.
Me and my mom just got me one and she don’t know how to drive one thank you
You’re very welcome. 😊
Where did you get those steering wheel covers for the alcantera?
Right here!

Would it be a bad idea getting a Camaro or any other pony car in manual if you’ve never driven a manual vehicle?
no, id probably stay away from the v8s tho when starting out since its alot of power, thats just me
I learned on a 3 on the tree.
My Grandmaw could drive a stick. No joke.
All I could think about when watching the first steps was how long my dads taking to go get some milk.
I wish my left knee wasn’t so achy all the time so I could drive/own a manual. #SaveTheManuals
Whoever hasn’t driven a manual ever, please go learn how to drive one. It will be so much fun with the right people. Save the manuals 😭😭
How tough with having 500 plus horsepower is it to shift with your right and keep the car on the road with your left?
Can get out of control fast, correct?
If you know what you're doing, no
You didn’t show us how to do Reverse 🥺. Now I can’t get out of the garage.
I'm very very sad I made a deal in 23 Camaro I go to take the car home bang yeah it's manual, ended by me getting the 2019 My Allah I was so mad Greetings from Dallas .
Yeah great job teach people how to steal your manual transmission car now
Why hold the clutch after stopping all time isnt good for the clutch! You should always go to neutral and only hold the break. After hit the clutch, gear in and start drive. Stop only without holding all the time the clutch, isnt good for the clutch. Why he show to hold the clutch all the time??? It hurts only by seeing, who do this??????? More advanced technic, to stress your clutch :D n1 good idear bro.
Dude do you know really how to drive a manual , if so you wouldn't be driving an automatic C8 lol
Stop making these videos. I might have to actually invest in a car alarm/immobilizer system if the kids start to learn this crap.
And *_stay off my grass!!_*
😂
Manual cars are dumbest thing ever. After 50+ years this technology has not improved in any way whatsoever. The clutch should have been automated-away decades ago. DCT is superior in every way.
Then you OBVIOUSLY don't understand the JOY of driving a manual transmission.
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb😅😅😅😅
You are too young and spoiled to understand what a manual transmission is and how enjoyable it is. You have full control of the car but it requires a skill which you don’t have obviously.
I used to always drive automatic in racing games, now I switched to manual because it's faster around the track and more fun. Even in video games, manual is more fun.
Why do people still hunt with bows and muzzle loaders? Why do we still paint pictures with a brush and paint. Why are there still film cameras? Why do some people still make their clothes, beers, wines, breads from scratch? I have never wanted an automatic sports car.
I do know how to drive a manual but the problem is that I don’t have car with manual transmission 🥲💔
Even though I want that Camaro more and anything 💔
