Old Pulteney was the first distillery I fell in love with - courtesy of the old 12yo. I went through a bottle of the 15 too and loved it. Not as much as the old 17, but still. The new 18 is also excellent, but a little bit unusual for Old Pulteney, since the sherry influence is quite a bit heavier than in the 15. The OP-spirit still shines trough though. Value-wise, I would say the 15 is very okay, compared to other 15yo in the market. The best OP-value in the new lineup for sure. I haven't had the 25, because the price is bonkers and the NAS "Huddard" I absolutely hated. The peated casks just dont work with this spirit - better to spend a few bucks more and go for the 15, in my opinion. Cheers from your subscriber No 14!
I haven't had a chance to explore much of the new range, not even the new 12. But it seems quite a few people share your sentiment about the 15 being the best value in the range, I really enjoyed it. I'd like to try the 18 at some point. Huddard, to be honest, is pretty low on the wishlist, and no way I'll be forking out for the 25 anytime soon! Thanks no. 14! Appreciate the feedback!
Hi G Tried this just yesterday at the Whisky exhibition / tasting in Manchester and was really quite impressed , been briefly down the Putney road before and perhaps, didn’t give it enough patience , but enjoyed this , will buy bottle . As usual an excellent review …Cheers 🥃👍
Thanks Allan! I'll be reviewing the 18 soon enough. The 15 is good. I think a lot of people were too keen to write it off because it replaced the beloved 17. I miss the 17 myself, but the 15 is a nice one. Cheers!
@@Gwhisky Hi G Look forward to your review of the 18 Only had a brief snifter of it at the show , but on first impressions for twice the price I didn’t think it was massively better , but as we know ..we can be wrong 👍🥃🥃
Hi , enjoyed this review. I’ve just bought it it at £49 . Would you think that’s a good deal ? Keep up the good work. You do a very good reviews , relays enjoy them . Slainte mhath…🥃🥃🥃
I've only had the 12 thus far. I was quite impressed for a 40-percenter at its price. It's quite rich and yes on the buttery quality. I've seen some odd pricing. The 15 is more expensive than the 16 they have and the 10 is more expensive than the 12. I might check the 15 or 16 out if they're on offer.
I didn't even know they had a 10 or a 16. Seem to be travel retail exclusives. I liked the 15, and I'm pretty interested in trying that 16. Weird that it's cheaper...
Thanks! This was helpful. I suspect I will go for the 15 to replace the Clynelish 14 in my collection when it comes to an end. Would you recommend a 12 instead, or is there a significant difference in flavors? Does their unsherried whisky rely on all American casks? I am a sherry fan, but my collection has a large number of sherried whiskies and I'm looking for a 'classical' Scotch, like Dalwhinnie 15.
The 12 doesn't really do it for me, personally. It might work out for you, though. Taste is subjective and it's probably closer in profile to the Dalwhinnie 15 than the OP15. Worth trying! 🥃

I really enjoy your open and honest opinions.
Thanks! Still a small channel over here, so I appreciate the kind words of support!
I found mine was a bit rough and tumble at first too. But enjoying the 2nd half of the bottle, it has a decent complexity.

I think £49 is a really good price for this! And thanks for the kind words, First-fill. Much appreciated. 🙏

Do you think this OP 15 will be a collectors item one day like the 17 is?

@@Gwhisky Of course, I'm also dabbling with the idea of Ardnamurchan instead. Too many choices.
I purchased a bottle of this for $80 USD .. you think that was a good deal? :D
Pretty good, yeah! 🥃
