    Really good overview of just some of the features this Denon has. I have just bought these Denon SC5000 and am loving the creativity "on the fly" you can perform. Always been a Pioneer DJ for over 10 years, but found they were getting stale on new features with every deck they were releasing. Hopefully Denon will make them sit up and take notice. So far I'm loving the new Denon decks.

    Awesome awesome job! I just ordered mine and can't wait to get my hands on them!! Any recommendation for Studio speakers to go with them?

      +chris mccully we always go back to rokits. They're great for DJs but not amazing if you produce as well. They're not the best out there but a reliable option.

    how can the player SC5000 (as the master) be set to send "clock out" (as MIDI) via one of the USB ports to sync a drum machine (as the slave)?

    Thanks for the video. Would you recommend I use a Denon X1800 mixer with the SC5000M decks if I want to use stand alone mode. Don’t want to use a laptop
    Thanks

    DJ TLM, I bought the DJ VL12 Prime turntables. Have you seen these things yet? I'm very new to the DJ world so just curious if you or anybody else that follows you has any inputs. So far they seem high quality and I'm very impressed.

    AWSOME Video. Just wish you could change the Center logo to something more USEFUL. Like a BPM Counter, Pitch Range, or Tempo of some sorts. I know all of this is on the Screen, but seems to be more Eye Catching, and faster reaction if they were actually on the jog wheel. Seems kinda Childish, and bedroomish with images in the center jog wheel. Other than that DENON has truly made a Dream come True👍👍👍

    Will the player auto load the next track in a playlist or stop at the end of each song.

    Finally we are getting controller level action on these media players. Thank you for showing us this type of performing and not the typical ...here is your( this and that)
    I too have noticed that often in the demos the slicer mode sounds terrible when quantize is activated. Still I use this feature on my novation twitch controller a lot, since it has the touch strip and lets the dj to manipulate live and it sounds great. So my question is...Have you tested if rolling the jog wheel changes the sample parameters simultaneously holding down a pad when slicing?

    • @Crossfader
      @Crossfader  7 років тому

      Yeah having quantize on while using slicer can definitely have its downsides. It's not as responsive as we would like it to be. We haven't tested using the jog wheel to change the length of the roll while you're using the slicer pads but you can use the parameter left and right buttons to change the roll length. We will have another play on the players and see if the jog wheel affects how to slicer performs.

      Funny you mention the Twitch controller, I loved the Twitch but with mac OS updates it stopped working. This week I put the original software on a windows laptop and it works perfectly. The Denon SC5000 uses loads of the features found on the Twitch controller but doesn't rely on a laptop or separate software and adds loads of extra stuff. I'm tempted!

    One question, would you buy one over the latest nexus player?

    • @Crossfader
      @Crossfader  7 років тому +1

      +djoliashman personally I would for home performance. However as a club DJ unless I see the Denon's start to make their way into the clubs dj booths then I would probably go for the new NXS just because that is what is more commonly found in booths. But honestly this player is amazing and I do hope to see more of them out!

      Thanks, that makes sense. Hopefully the Denons do make it, they seem to have the functionality of a controller/software set up in a standalone player.

      Buying the sc5000 for home performance is not going to make these players club standards. You have to break the trend of using only pioneer decks. People only buy what the best dj uses. No exposure when being used at home. Besides you will miss playing on the sc5000, when playing on the limited NXS in the club.

      I agree and think that the Denons will make it in to clubs as long as Denon support them long enough.
