Thanks for doing this! I've read most of Sam's work, and, as an SSA Christian myself, conversations like these are always nourishing, edifying, and much appreciated. You rock, brother.
Thanks for the discussion on terminology. I come from the perspective of preferring to use the term gay. Sam, thanks for your response, and Preston, thanks for raising some of the points that cause me to prefer to use "gay."
I love both your work! Thank you for your work for Christ! You’ve both blessed & helped so many. You’ve helped me so much as a minister wanting to be able to step into these conversations. As a side note, if possible, I would recommend removing the part about Ravi towards the end. In light of what was revealed about him it feels like it brings down the video.
Is the Bible Anti-Gay?? Why are we still asking this question? There are at least 7 different scriptures condemning homosexuality! But understand God loves the sinner.....Not the Sin!!
Thank you Pastor I appreciate the conversation like many Christians we try to strive for the truth I know that a few months back you had Dr. Michael Heiser on and that you read his book The unseen realm and as for me I do see a lot of sense in turpentine scripture with the sons of God and the daughters of men but with that subject comes this judgment of the angels and I’m trying to correlate how this particular sin With scripture thank you for any insight you can give me on the subject God bless you and keep you
The word gay is a term with connotations of identity not simply describing. It is not a matter of ontology unless we make it so. That end all be all view is so destructive. Thank you for your insights.
well, that depends on who you ask. to me and most of my friends, gay means I am attracted to other guys, not that I am married, dating, or promiscuous. I think those connotations are slowly fading.
The Bible is abundantly clear, I am an abomination, going to hell anyway, and should be killed with my blood being on my own head. The solution is supposedly to do the very first thing that God said was not good. I have nothing to live for, know the ending, unpleasant, just need to give up my last dream giving me any hope for life at all. Once I can give up my last shred of hope, then I can grasp it.
I am with you in this. I get it. You can even hear in the voice of the guy he interviews in this video that he doesn't really have any hope. Just traditional British stubbornness. It's unfortunate that he tries to paint it as something it isn't.
i feel you. i used to be here too. I hated myself for being gay. Jesus changed my mind with his love. I don't think the Bible is so clear on this. It was written mainly in Greek and Hebrew thousands of years ago. There are slight mistranslations that can sadly send the wrong message. You are NOT an abomination. You are precious.
@@AcTheMace I'm lots of kinds of stupid, but not all of them. And I've been studying the languages, probably my best subjects since high school Geology and military nuclear chemistry. While they are enlightening, they aren't paradigm shifting.

I really enjoyed this conversation. I’ve read Sam’s book and I always enjoy hearing his thoughts. Thanks for sharing gentleman.

I think the most intelligent and thoughtful voice on the issue of homosexuality at the moment is that of Sam Allberry.
Best discussion on this subject ever. Congrats guys.
Honestly ! Is there no real hope? Age 65 and tired of being lied to.

There's always hope Nate Graham.
@@goingpublic8017 Theoretically I agree. But I'm not going to hold my breath.
