  • In this episode of Lauren of All Trades... Lauren checks out Indulge Food Hall on the Norwegian Prima... several times!
    Indulge Food Hall is a new complementary restaurant found only on NCL Prima, Viva, and Aqua so far.
    The selections are excellent for several meals at the food hall and most of the items are good to great.

    Surfside Cafe, any advise on how to avoid crowds and busy time. Great videos.

      Thank you!
      Going to the buffet right when it opensight be the only way to avoid crowds. Every time I was there (I primarily went to record video of it) people were SO aggressive. I didn’t find a need to eat at the buffet for the most part with the other options. One tip I have is that few people ventured out to where the hot dogs/hamburgers/sausages were so that’s a great spot to get something fast. Oh and that they usually had overflow seating at Food Republic and or Palomar at lunch. Look for signs indicating such if you’re unable to find a seat.

    All the food looked really good. 😋 Did you prefer the food hall to the buffet?

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  10 місяців тому

      Indulge was better than the buffet but the selection was a little limited. Everything was fresh because it was made-to-order.
      The buffet on this ship was better than the buffets on Breakaway/Gem/Pearl in 2017/18/19 respectively. This is my first on NCL since Covid.
      There was a lot that we wanted to eat at Indulge and Local so we only actually ate at the buffet twice at lunch and once at breakfast.

    We’re there free drink stations in Indulge food hall? Is coffee free in the Indulge food hall?

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, there is a drink station with regular/decaf coffee, hot tea, water, and I think iced tea and lemonade. Servers will bring you ice water by default.

    But they do have a regular classic style buffet too right cause I agree with comedian John Pinette if it don’t have a buffet and a casino, it’s not seaworthy in my eyes

    When was the best time to visit Indulge during lunch or dinner.

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  9 місяців тому +2

      For lunch, i'd recommend going the moment they open (or slightly earlier) to make sure you can get a table. Going towards the end of lunch time might also be safe, but I always ate early, so I don't really know.
      Dinner was not nearly as crowded because of all the specialty dining options. I was on a cruise with a ton of platinum and diamond guests so they all had at least 4 specialty dining credits. I couldn't say what it would be like with a normal amount of platinum/diamond guests. It might be the same because people favor the MDRs but it might also be more crowded, in which case I'd recommend going when it opens or closer to closing.

      This ship looks great but that’s where the good part ends. We are gold latitudes members, I’m saying that only so you know we’ve sailed NCL a number of times. This ship should be amazing but it’s just not, food is mainly disappointing.
      Honestly, I’m so sad we even went on this ship. Absolute waste of our vacation time and ultimately our hard earned money.
      I used to love NCL, such a shame the service and standards have dropped so low.

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  7 місяців тому +1

      @@penny-w I really appreciate your comment because I was worried it was just me! I liked NCL in the past and then hadn't been on since 2019 until this cruise. If not for our destination (Iceland) I would feel the same about our time and money as you did. I booked a transatlantic on Viva (for the itinerary more than the ship and because I scored an amazing deal) so I'll see if I still feel the same.
      I actually thought the food was better than on my previous NCL cruises, so maybe you just got unlucky.
      I'm likely booking Getaway for next year, so I;ll be able to find out if I just don't like NCL anymore of I just don't like Prima class.

    NCL is probably the last cruise line I’d be interested in booking. However, if there is anything that could change my mind, it would be Indulge. Looks to be an amazing concept with equally amazing execution….

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  10 місяців тому +1

      The execution actually leaves something to be desired, at lunch at least. There’s no where near enough seating. Dinner is better because of all the specialty restaurants which are only open at dinner. But otherwise I agree that it’s a great way to have a lot of variety in a relatively small space.

      I learned that if you bring your allowed bottle of wine aboard, they charge you a corkage fee upon embarkation. That means you pay it whether you bring the wine to a restaurant or if you open it in the stateroom. That disgusted me. I don’t even really care about the wine. I just found the abject money grubbing a complete turn off!

      @@andrewbrown574there is no corkage fee when you have the Adult drink pkg. Like what is given as part of the FAS.

    Hi, this place looks pretty neat! I have two questions… what kind of ship activities were available during the daytime and what would you say was the average age of your fellow cruisers? Thank you.

    • @laurenofalltrades
      @laurenofalltrades  7 місяців тому

      On our sailing the average age was probably 55ish? But you ser that on any cruise that's more than 7 days. We went to trivia and there were some games. There's other stuff, but not like on Carnival. Much more relaxed. (We like Carnival though). We spent most of our time eating and drinking lol.

      @@laurenofalltrades thanks. We like carnival too. Always have a good time on their ships. Just got back from our first Princess cruise and to be honest, we were bored. It was mostly an older crowd - we guessed like 70’s!

      @@penelopepitstop762 You won't be completely bored on NCL, but it's not as fun as Carnival. By happenstance, my channel is on hiatus from Carnival videos, but I'm going on Jubilee in February so I'll be posting Carnival videos again!
