I have the 2018 sport AWD, looks exactly like this. This video explains exactly why I love it so much. The changes in the newer models 2022 2023 may look more modern, but loose something in aesthetics. Love the simplicity of this model.
From the very first second of review I can notice that you are enjoying doing car reviews. Very much appreciated on what you and your team is doing :) keep it up!
Like always I witnessed a very solid review with attention to details. His reviews are always influence you in a buying position like he did for my A8L 2019. Good job like always!
Thankyou for breathing a Breath of Fresh Air into your style of car reviews. A very modern approach with an air of artistry included. I am looking to buy a newer car soon & the info you give covers all aspects . Thankyou a real pleasure to watch too.
Thomas, you are amazing. I asked for Hyundai Tucson review last year and you made it, thanks a lot ! For the car, I think they made a great job overall with the exterior design, but the interior design lacks something, unfortunately it's not as modern as exterior. As I know, the seats are not in real leather in the premium version, but fake leather, which should make you happy (at least, it's what the seller told me for Switzerland). I was surprise that there was no panoramic roof, who had a lot of light and make the interior much nicer, because it is really huge. All premium version in Switzelrand are equipped with it. They should have add adaptive cruise control, this is a big miss for 2015/2016. By the way, you seems very relax driving this car :-) Waiting for Seat Ateca review now hehe... Great review as always !
+Bastie Arte Of course, we dont forget the wishes of our viewers! Thanks for the feedback! Indeed it has a very relaxing ride. As for the leather, the official catalogue for Germany says "Echtleder kombiniert mit hochwertigem Kunstleder.", for me that means that they have put the middle parts in genuine leather and the outside in leatherette. I cant imagine they would change that for Switzerland, maybe ask the dealer again and refer to the German broschure that would be interesting! Also, we can get a Panoramic roof in Germany optionally
Really enjoyed your review Thomas. We have owned a 2.0 dci Tucson for four years now and agree with all your comments. It really is an easy car to live with. Fuel consumption possibly not as good as some of the competition but nothing has gone wrong with it (it did have a couple of recalls). Overall very pleased with it and intend to keep it for many years to come.
I appreciate very professional approach, no attempt for embarrassing joke, no bullshit, just facts, datas and interesting opinions. Ooo,yes Thomas, you are really German. :)
I am contemplating buying one here in the U.S. and i had heard people talk about transmission issues but your unbiased review and another review I reviewed also today has now made me decide to fully for it. Thanks for your candid opinion. Pop
I own a 2016 Tucson with 150,000 km on it. The 2.0 diesel and 6-speed automatic transmission still has no problems and runs very comfortably and smoothly.😂
Thank you so much for your calm, and thorough review. I appreciate your sensitivity to the different people who would be interested in buying this SUV. And I'm a fellow vegan and will not be ordering the leather seats!
Thank you so much for the comprehensive review of the Tucson. I like to hear from multiple sources on anything that I am researching and I appreciate your perspective on this vehicle
thanks for the video. i am keeping up the watching your videos.(not all) u have calm voice and approach when it comes to detailing a car. i like that. and u make me feel u have a passion for the job. keep up the good quality videos.
I'm sorry Thomas, I have watched reviews with the other guys who occasionally step in for you, but Autogefuhl is a hundred times better when you are the host. From now on I will only watch reviews made by you. Thanks for great work! Schönes Tag!
I must confess that I avoided this video because I saw it was a German name. I will have to say that this is by far the most in depth and subtlety funny review I have ever seen. It was a pleasure to listen to your review, especially the 'German' nature so to speak. Well done!
Hallo Thomas. Darf ich Ihre review Videos schauen for every of my meal time, especially during breakfast. It is a great combo i thing, watching your Reviews while enjoying the food in front of me. Schönen Tag und grüßen aus Malaysia.
Yesterday I had the choice between "Gladiator" in german tv or this new Autogefühl video. Guess who lost the race...;) Again, stunning charismatic review!
Plastic is so easy to scratch..i seat in 2 that had less then 500km on clock and plastic allready had numerous scratches . .. especialu plastic in the back off front seat..
Thanks Thomas this was a very good review I have decided to buy he Tucson sport diesel 1.7. The grey metallic looks really good and after a test drive I agree with 90 % of your analysis
Another outstanding review Thomas, how does this car compare to the car im driving just now. Ive got a Moka 1.4 petrol turbo elite,. Im due to order my new car come October, but as you've reviewed so many lovely cars, i think im going to need some advice from you, in regards to what car i should give serious thought to. My car is a motability car, and my wife and i need an Suv.or a Cuv.type, as it's easier for the both of us to get into, as were both pensioners. I would be very much obliged to you for your specalised help. Thanks in advance.👍
Thomas you are way better than micheal on reviewing cars, so please be the only reviewer here. You are iconic image of autogeful, nr1 resource for in depth car reviews hahah. about tuscon i like the design but not quality of interior.
+Rigon Jahiu hey rigon, from time to time I also need support because I must be allowed to go on holiday as well :) Sometimes we also have parallel events
Great review. Thanks!!! I wasn't satisfied with the previous review. Looking forward to its launch in INDIA. The car looks very cool in your favourite sky blue color...(my favourite as well)
The front of the car is very nice. The back is okay but with still some room for improvements though. I guess it isn't easy to design a nice the back of a SUV.

Thomas, this is another great review. It would be nicer if you compared Tucson with other competitors in terms of riding, handling, cargo space, power and mpg etc. Thanks!
+Yong Kim thanks! Comparisons will follow in the next reviews. The upcoming new Tiguan review will include infos to the Tucson, for example. Also we will review the all-new Sportage. Stay subbed and tuned!
Beautiful review Thomas. Can you do a test comparison with the new (2016) Toyota Rav 4. I would be particularly interested how you will compare the Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5 and the Toyota Rav 4 SE version. Thanks allot.
Thanks, great review! I like this car from the outside, looks excellent in my view. The interior is also nice, but I guess it could be a bit more worthy by using some more soft touch materials. I would think just a small step up would be enough! And from the sound of the specs (0-100 in 10 seconds) it seemed a bit underpowered. But you were quite clear that the performance was actually adequate in real life, so.. Not much wrong with this car. So I wonder why it doesn't really make me want one.. Probably because there is nothing that stands out to make me enthusiastic..
Another great presentation - I'm following you quite some time now! You could really add your height as a text instead of mentioning - and explaining - it every time!
This SUV has a design that I really love. I don't understand why, but I really love it. I think Hyundai nailed that part. The interior is conservative but I like that because it means that it doesn't make stuff up and is quite rational. The plastics of the interior seem a bit flimsy but since you didn't find any fault I think it is ok. How do you compare it with the CX-5, the Kadjar and the new Touareg Thomas?
+Darkhoof I agree. CX-5 is very close competitor, they are both good tips. And all-new Tiguan of course. The Tiguan is classier on the interior. Touareg would be above those all size- and price-wise. Kadjar feels way cheaper than all of those ones, but also IS cheaper ;)
Yes, I meant Tiguan. Sorry. :) Thanks for the reply, I like your reviews because you focus a lot on the design details, the tactile quality of the interiors, ergonomy and small details that can turn a good car into a great one in terms of quality of life in the interior.
From all the trim levels I have seen, they all have a Foot Parking brake, but this one has the electronic parking brake. Please which year and trim level is this one? Is it 2016 limited trim with 1.6 turbo charged engine?
Thank you for excellent and very detailed unbiazed review. Here in Egypt the car entry level is 1.6 L petrol naturally aspirated with 130 hp. From your perspective, can it it be satisfactory, or will it be totally unacceptable? Must I go for the GDI 175 hp engine? Thank you again
Tomas, it seems to me that you have a very high tolerance for noise which is exactly what I don't have :-) I can hear clearly even from the video that there is much tyre noise when breaking, the clutch noises are pronounced, the engine is loud, and that Hyunday hasn't done enough to keep aerodynamic noises in check. And my test drive only confirmed these observations. Unfortunately the same goes for the Mazda CX-5 that I bought 2 months ago. Both have sub-par noise insulation, even compared to my previous car which was an 11-year old Citroen C5.
+gvaley I drove 170 km/h on motorway with the car and it was really good. However yes, we also had better compact SUV as for noise tolerance like the Tiguan
I always watch Autogefuhl in full HD, full screen and full length. Maybe this car has large interior buttons because it claims to be an off-road vehicle and some people drive off-road with gloves and they need to access the functions. It would have been nice if this car with dual clutch transmission had flappy pedals behind the steering wheel.
Loved your review and just took a test drive but I am puzzled about the Tucson's ( named after Arizona town) drivetrain--- from a stop it seems to hesitate before moving, so either the engine or the transmission has a problem and it's very disappointing. Also I thought the Limited version should have felt more upscale, quieter but the small 4 cylinder engine seems to make too much noise. I wish America had the new Tiguan for a comparison but that is at a year away. I think that the Hyundai will have better long term reliability and lower cost of ownership compared to VW. The Rav4 Hybrid AWD is surprisingly nice but the boring CVT transition and no Apple Carplay is a deal breaker. Would like to see you do a few head to head comparisons! Big Fan of THOMAS and for us English speakers- is there a English translation of the name "AUTOGEFUHL" ?
How much weight does the DCT and AWD add on FWD configuration? I haven't find exact figures but from what I have seen it's something between 150-200kg? That's a lot, maybe FWD with manual would be better performer cause of that diference. Nice review as always, detailed.
I prefer buttons to having to go into a menu for the display especially for things like the air con/temperature controls. That's too distracting and somewhat dangerous. I like the updated Tucson due out soon. Hope you do a review for that Thomas.
Thomas, I type this as I watch the video so if you already knew this then disregard my comment. Did you know that Audi's former interior designer is the designer for Hyundai! You can see some similarities between recent Audis and newer Hyundais in the interior.
Hello, Thomas! Very nice to watch such interesting reviews! Can you answer please simple question? Does this vehicle have adjustable resistance of steering (different modes of steering)? Of course if you remember....
? tucson 2016 2.4l 4x4 or cx5 2.5l in term of sound insulation + the good driving feeling+ the quietness of the engine inside the car? plz help me to decide
Halfway through the video I subscribed and liked. Great review! Buying the 2017 model this week. Any suggestions regarding interior color? On the white model I have the beige, grey or black option. Thinking about going with the black...
Thanks! I believe is not animal leather, just a material that really emulates the leather look and feel ehich I don't really mind. What about the color of the interior fading over time, what would be the best color option in your opinion?
Might be, which market are you in and how is the material called? Brighter colours can of course collect stains easier, but they also make the interior way brighter which is also nice
Autogefühl I'm in the Puerto Rico market; can't recall the name but I'll ask and give you a reply for information sharing purposes. I'm thinking the black interior for stain and dirt masking but I also saw a beige, like dark milk coffee, which also looks nice. Regarding stains, the 2017 model comes with YES Fabric, which is stain and odor resistant.
Great review, as always! :) Is the luggage/boot bigger on this than the Quasqai? I would like to have a mountain bike in the car. Either a 29" ore a fatbike :)
+Stian Jorge Jarnæss thanks! hah, funny - I have just transported a new fatbike in the trunk - it exactly fitted in there, with removed front tyre of course
Thank You Thomas for the overview of that car! Do You know Hyundai will replace the old 4 step automatic in the i20 with a DSG or something else? The i20 is a nice car, but with this old school automatic not an option to buy.
Awesome review Thomas! But after watching the Outlander, CX-5 and the Tucson reviews...I really don't know which to go for. I really like the Mazda overall but the new Tucson has more space. I am the same height as you - 1.86m. But compared to the Mazda, the Hyundai feels a bit lazier on the road I guess? Which car would you personally go for? Which one feels safer on the road? Both cars in my country cost basically the same but the Mazda comes only with 3 years of warranty which is a bummer. Any insights please? :)
thanks! Outlander has the advantage that it is available as Plugin-Hybrid. CX-5, didnt drive the new version, but in general its a fine SUV. Tucson or CX-5, they really come close I'd say. Did you also compare it to VW Tiguan and Seat Ateca e.g.? Whats your market/Country?
Autogefühl Well I live in the Netherlands but I will buy it from Bulgaria. The Tiguan is over 20 000 euros more expensive in Bulgaria with similar specs. And I have a bitter experience with VW. So between the CX-5 and Tucson, which one would you go for? Considering our similar height, it is also important that there is enough back room to sit in.
I see, that makes sense. Hmmm really a tricky question. The CX-5 offers great naturally aspirated engines, the Tucson is also available with one. The Tucson also has some nice features like the automatic hatch, well .. both come close in driving. I cannot really tell which car is better. Design-wise I found the Tucson more beautiful. So what I would do is to check which one you can get with nice fabric seats in your market, e.g. if one model is offered animal skin only, it's a no-go and you got your decision.
Autogefühl Thank you, Thomas. I will go and test drive both but the Tucson has 5 years of warranty, so that is a really good selling point imho. Thanks again!
Hi Thomas! Thanks a lot for these awesome reviews. I know this review is a little old now but do you remember the fuel consumption for this tgdi 177cv on the autobahn at 120/130 kmh? (I would go for the 2wd manual version) On my daily basis I do very short drives and I wouldn't want to go for a diesel and have problems with particle filter, egr, etc... but on the other hand I am afraid that the turbo petrol fuel consumption might be too high. I do around 8000km year. Thanks a lot in advance
+QING Liu I see. Today I have driven the Tiguan again, that new review will air next week. I am especially going in-depth on that issue while driving indeed
I really liked the car, but local model lineup is very strange... For instance, you can't get an automatic gearbox with front wheel drive only car. And you can't get Premium equipment with that either. So, if I wanted a Premium trim level, I'd have to opt for 4WD car and it will make price for such configuration 10k more than top trim level front wheel driver Qashqai. This is absolutely unreasonable.
Please, Hyundai Tucson 2019 or Skoda Karoq? I would say, mostly city drive with a few vacation trips during the year (4 family mambers). Your opinion would be so much helpful. Thank you and keep making a great car reviews.
thank's. have already watched it (it is also great review btw), but I'm still in dilemma. Please give me some guidance, to be able to make a right decision. I'm thinking about petrol engine in both cars.
+Fernando C yeah indeed the plastic covers were the one weak point, but as the rest of buttons etc. were good it doenst matter that much, and the car in general feels very refined
I know some people don't care, but I personally really appreciate how you test all the sounds and tactile element's always!
+Bert Leysen thanks bert !

From all the trim levels I have seen, they all have a Foot Parking brake, but this one has the electronic parking brake. Please which year and trim level is this one? Is it 2016 limited trim with 1.6 turbo charged engine?
Nice review and nice car! What colour is the Tucson that is used? Pepper grey? Thunder gray? Thanks!
I remember they have two VERY similar grey colours ...
I think the best way to test the sports mode is to come to a full stop and then accelerate.
Thank you again
appreciated - feel free to spread the word for our videos :)
Hm it surely wont be super fast, but if you are not racing...
Thanks for the great review :) Now a comparison with the new Sportage GT Line would be great :) As always nobody does it in more detail than you!
+Terry_42 thanks! We ll have the all-new Sportage this year as well and then we ll compare how it performs in comparions to the Tucson
Awesome!
even with the german accent the review is very wel done :)
thanks, you re welcome here :)
+Dragos Teodor Bran way to go!
+Bob Crouch car feeling :)
Excellent Review ! Thank you...We just put down some money to get it....
Appreciated!
How much weight does the DCT and AWD add on FWD configuration? I haven't find exact figures but from what I have seen it's something between 150-200kg? That's a lot, maybe FWD with manual would be better performer cause of that diference. Nice review as always, detailed.
+quornash could be yes, but still, it is very relaxing to ride it with that combo
There're Two elements which i don't like on this Tucson :
- Too much buttons on the dashboard
- Interior's style / design
But it's a Good car
+Wold OliviO yeah indeed
I prefer buttons to having to go into a menu for the display especially for things like the air con/temperature controls. That's too distracting and somewhat dangerous. I like the updated Tucson due out soon. Hope you do a review for that Thomas.
As always, great review. But i do prefer Santa Fe Sport.
Please do a review of the new Lexus RX. :)
+kiwi7211 thanks! New Lexus RX is already scheduled for summer!
Gps system is the same as new Kia models. Works pretty good
Thomas, I type this as I watch the video so if you already knew this then disregard my comment. Did you know that Audi's former interior designer is the designer for Hyundai! You can see some similarities between recent Audis and newer Hyundais in the interior.
+Dan Murphy yes that's a good point !
not interior designer, exterior....Peter you talking right?
The roof-line is nice. It could easily be turned into a coupé shape like the new GLC Coupé.
+CarTestr / SUVTEST.se true
Wow, this thing fully specced costs more than fully equipped Mazda CX-5. Not in this lifetime, Hyundai.
Hello, Thomas! Very nice to watch such interesting reviews! Can you answer please simple question? Does this vehicle have adjustable resistance of steering (different modes of steering)? Of course if you remember....
thanks! Afaik yes, did you check the driving part?
Sure! I mean separately from modes of gearbox.
? tucson 2016 2.4l 4x4 or cx5 2.5l in term of sound insulation + the good driving feeling+ the quietness of the engine inside the car?
plz help me to decide
+Nabil Rasheed ah you found your way here as well =) tbh Tucson and CX-5 come very close, I would compare the concise offers you get at a dealer's !
Halfway through the video I subscribed and liked. Great review! Buying the 2017 model this week. Any suggestions regarding interior color? On the white model I have the beige, grey or black option. Thinking about going with the black...
Thanks! Remember not go go for animal skin seats but remain with a fabric or leatherette trim depending on what is available on your market!
+Guillermo Pagán sounds good keep us updated
Great review, as always! :) Is the luggage/boot bigger on this than the Quasqai? I would like to have a mountain bike in the car. Either a 29" ore a fatbike :)
+Stian Jorge Jarnæss thanks! hah, funny - I have just transported a new fatbike in the trunk - it exactly fitted in there, with removed front tyre of course
Great ☺ I have a Quasqai, and have a 27,5+ bike on order☺ 3" tyres, hope to fit it. Enjoy Your fatbike to!
+Stian Jorge Jarnæss nice =)
interesting and useful review. would be great to see comparison with all new kia sportage.
+OYANEKU2011 thanks join us for more reviews ! Kia Sportage all-new generation will also follow soon :)
4:46 borat moment for this episode
🤣🤣🤣
LOL, so true! Thomas goes Ali G for a moment.
Thomas, you were kind enough to give us a lesson on pronouncing German cars. So, I will suggest "too- sahn" as the pronunciation here.
+Bruno TaTa so rather a than o, ok ;)
Thank You Thomas for the overview of that car! Do You know Hyundai will replace the old 4 step automatic in the i20 with a DSG or something else? The i20 is a nice car, but with this old school automatic not an option to buy.
+MrNordlandfahrer Thanks! I think we ll have a look at the new I20 Turbo soon then I can check it
Awesome review Thomas!
Thanks again!
tell us later what you experienced!
Wow! At 13:18 when that car passes by you could not hear a thing. Is the sound insulation this good or just the microphone damped it?
+cintula82 sound insulation was really good
Hi Thomas! Thanks a lot for these awesome reviews.
I know this review is a little old now but do you remember the fuel consumption for this tgdi 177cv on the autobahn at 120/130 kmh? (I would go for the 2wd manual version)
On my daily basis I do very short drives and I wouldn't want to go for a diesel and have problems with particle filter, egr, etc... but on the other hand I am afraid that the turbo petrol fuel consumption might be too high. I do around 8000km year.
Thanks a lot in advance
Thank you! If you don’t have all-wheel-drive and no automatic, the consumption is usually OK
Autogefühl Thanks!
So i watch alot of your videos,But what i want to know my friend is,What car do you prefer/drive
How is the sound isolation? I m thinking to get the Tucson or new vw Tiguan. I am living in Holland which always has strong wind during highway
+QING Liu I see. Today I have driven the Tiguan again, that new review will air next week. I am especially going in-depth on that issue while driving indeed
Tucson do not offer adaptive cruise control or only tested version?
+Peter Sokol Good point, obviously it is not available
I really liked the car, but local model lineup is very strange... For instance, you can't get an automatic gearbox with front wheel drive only car. And you can't get Premium equipment with that either. So, if I wanted a Premium trim level, I'd have to opt for 4WD car and it will make price for such configuration 10k more than top trim level front wheel driver Qashqai. This is absolutely unreasonable.
+Roman „Rams“ Gubanov yeah indeed
Please, Hyundai Tucson 2019 or Skoda Karoq? I would say, mostly city drive with a few vacation trips during the year (4 family mambers). Your opinion would be so much helpful. Thank you and keep making a great car reviews.
compare our Karoq review here: ua-cam.com/video/sFtisw88uN8/v-deo.html
thank's. have already watched it (it is also great review btw), but I'm still in dilemma. Please give me some guidance, to be able to make a right decision. I'm thinking about petrol engine in both cars.
@@damjantasic6032 Skoda Kodiaq is a lot bigger and it feels more well built and premium.
10:30 "I don't want to know about the heater controls, or the radio, or touch controls, but..... tell me where the fusebox is".....
"Let there be Trunk. And there was Trunk."
:>
Silly question. I always wander what is Thomas saying at the start. Full lengths..? Full lens? Someone care to enlighten me?
Full HD, Fullscreen, Full Length!
The materials inside the car seem cheap how did they feel in person Thomas?
+Fernando C watch the review, Fernando
+Draxler Munoz I have, wanted his thoughts here on the forum
Fernando C sure, i would like to know too
+Fernando C yeah indeed the plastic covers were the one weak point, but as the rest of buttons etc. were good it doenst matter that much, and the car in general feels very refined
29:40 - I think that in the US they are getting the 2.4 NA instead of the 2.0 NA
