When the hype is this big and the game turns to be a masterpiece. Studio goals.
Dude I've played it and finished it on PC recently and I can't believe this game was launched 4 years ago pretty much. The graphics and everything was next gen and def better than any game launched recently and I say that after playing the game on almost the lowest settings, I can't imagine how good it looks on ultra
@@raduadochitei2728 yeah, played it maxed out and played with the settings a bit. Honestly, outside of ambient occlusion and better shadows, the difference is minimal. Looks amazing either way.

I played it once or twice and the visuals are really nice and ''crisp'', watching it on a UA-cam video with compression doesn't do it justice.
@@Padlock_SteveSubjective and it also heavily depends what you yourself are going through. Now that my own mothers gone both these games hit completely differently. They were top 10 for me already but now it’s like engraved in me.
As a developer you can't ask for a better reception than that, and then to deliver like they did, fantastic.
It is certainly one franchise with a development team that does right by their fanbase, in every release. A gold standard for gaming all around.
After reading this comment, I remembered when blizzard announced one of their most popular games ( I guess Diablo?) that, that game will be on mobile phones only :D the crowd reaction was priceless....

It was 2016, there were no leaks or rumours surfacing around the internet. The surprise reveal out of no where made my inner child jump out of joy and happiness. Seeing kratos after a long time brought tears.

actually there was some leak. Before the reveal there was a leak saying that God of War 4 is in development and this time Kratos got himself an axe, and a character art was posted too.But it looked pretty different than the Kratos we used to know and since the style transition was undercover no one knew what to expect.
@@adamalucard4655 actually I was not on any social media platform during that period. I only used Facebook and UA-cam, so I didn't come across those leaks which gave me that surprising feel though
I was not connected to GoW much that time and I literally had no idea that GoW had actually ended, I literally used to think that Ascension is GoW 4, I also saw E3 trailer thumbnail with that Spartan Rage Kratos screaming but who believes YT videos, one day (4 years back) I just saw all of a sudden how GoW is on YT
I remember a leak of Kratos with Beard and The nordic theme but nobody belived it should be true
There were definitely leaks about it I remember everyone talking about how the rumor would be him in a different mythology everyone kinda pointed it towards Egyptian mythology at the time (I don’t remember exactly what the leak was but I believe it was some cracked files off their updated website) at the time

I love hearing people getting excited and genuinely happy over the same things I do.
The people who worked on this game are all artists in their own right. No game has touched the cinematic experience of these last two GoW games, and they deserve every award they receive. Absolute masterpieces, in the most literal sense of the word.
I remember watching this and screaming when it was live to the point I started tearing up and still to this day I tear up watching it because it was such a great moment in gaming history
When the game was released to critics for their reviews and an overwhelming amount of 10/10’s came through, Cory - the lead dev, cried tears of joy

How ambitious to not only have a live orchestra to play the game's main theme but to actually play the game live instead of just showing a trailer, and for not a single thing to go wrong while doing so is amazing. Nothing will ever top this

What a journey for Corey Balrog this must have been. You can see how nervous he was about how people would respond, and then to watch him reacting to the reviews after it came out and crying because of all the praise the studio got for it is really amazing. They deserved every bit of it.

I still remember waking up and all my friends on facebook asking me what I thought about this reveal and I was like "Y'all just f***ing with me I need my coffee before any of you joke." I didn't make it to the kitchen before I seen the trailer. Screamed so loud with excitement I woke up the entire house.

I literally remember watching this live and got goosebumps when Kratos was revealed from the shadows. The roar from the audience is still iconic. All time great games truly bring people together

Come back to this reaction as Ragnarok grows closer. I do hope for it to come to PC. Just enjoy seeing the build up and then kratos walking out from the shadows and hearing the cheering and excitment come from the crowd.

Cory directed the best game ever, I am so surprised he is not directing the sequel despite the success of the first one, such an odd decision from Santa Monica.
Actually it was a normal decision every game Installment of god of war they have either had multiple directors working on the game or they would switch back and forth this new director isn't actually new him ND Cory have been doing this a very long time ot will improve the game for sure
It was actually his decision. He wanted to work on other projects but he'll still help the current director

Wild, dude. My childhood was about GOW. I remember the first game very fondly
