Awesome cave guys, i just stumbled onto the video by accident. I was a professional caver from the late 70s well into the 90s and helped map and explore some of the longest and toughest caves all over the central U.S. Some of our trips lasted several days underground and we carried everything from food to repelling gear with us. And had two team medics to treat injuries and hypothermia and had certified cave divers as well. And everyone on our team was certified in cave rescue. It was one of the most memorable and enjoyable times of my life.
How do you tell which direction you're going underground? Do magnetic compasses work there? I've always been impressed by mining engineers' ability to plan those facilities and their air shafts and other infrastructure.
What sort of thoughts do you think in order to calm yourself when you might feel fear or anxiety while in a cave? I feel like I'd go mad and need to ground myself often.

11:28 I swear I heard a girl say something. You can hear right right after "These are all dead flies" It sounds like a girl saying Are You Ready. Maybe something else. It's hard to tell.
An amazing cave system, one of the best, probably the best I have seen. You respected the cave, did not break bits off and trample fragile floor formations etc. Just as well the local yobs clearly don' t know or spay paint would spoil it. Thank you.
An Aussie caver here, thats one of the best caves I've seen. You guys are very lucky to have access, and I think i'd be going back to see what else you could find!
Any air monitor would quickly be destroyed or non functional when it gets wet. We do have them though. It's pretty common for caves to have methane like that bubble up from organic matter at the bottom. There is some hydrogen sulfide in it as well which is what we smell and the worrying thing. (methane is odorless) Though this cave had a very strong draft and I wasn't worried about concentrations getting high enough to be dangerous.
I don't know the first thing about caving, but from time to time I stumble across videos of people doing it on UA-cam and I'm always compelled to watch. I don't think id ever be daring enough to do such a thing (personally I think you're crazy, but I guess we all are in some way), but its amazing to see content creators bring footage of stuff like this to those of us who wouldn't venture into such areas. This one in particular was amazing. Wasn't expecting so many large and open areas inside! Please stay safe guys!
When I was a kid -4 yrs old- my brother & I climbed under our old house and I fell 35' into an old dry well. Miraculously I wasn't hurt at all but I was trapped for hrs. Unfortunately I've suffered from life-long claustrophobia since. Just watching you guys having fun exploring raises my BP....BUT DAM! Wish I could do that! It is totally incredible down there! Thanks for sharing gentlemen! Great video!
I’ve played a game where i could explore caves, my flashlight had no batteries, i had only 1 piece of cloth to use for a multitude of reasons. Walking in pitch black and then falling into water is scary as fuck
If you are a real caver you always have three different sources of light. Back in my day we had carbide lanterns on our hardhats, then hand held flashlights with extra batteries and as a last resort a supply of candles and waterproof matches.
Wow.. This makes me wanna hike instruments deep into a cave and jam down there. How sick would that be in that massive room you guys found? Bravo, what an awesome vid

Insane. I would have been out after the first 50ft. I amazes me how huge those chambers were. Everyone needs to scope out an extensive cave network at high enough elevation and/or far enough away from the coast, for multiple reasons, just within the next 10 years! Let alone beyond that ... and it is probably a good idea for everyone to keep that safety plan permanently, as a tradition for future generations. This will keep it from turning into a myth before it is needed again in another 6,000 to 12,000 years ❤
I, amongst others, was just introduced to this channel by the algorithm. It deserves my thanks along, of course, do you guys. It is simply sublime down there and I really appreciate the care you take to avoid damaging the formations that have taken aeons to evolve into the marvels that Mother Nature has created. I was dumbfounded to see the African cichlid in the water nearing the end of the video. It was much larger than many of the same species I’ve seen (and owned/cared for) both in the wild and in aquariums. Interesting observation is that they are tropical fish and many do not do well in cold water. That must be a truly hardy individual to be surviving let alone thriving to get to that size though they can and do get larger if conditions allow. It seems to be of a species that have bright purple and blue iridescent coloring when they are doing well, not stressed out or ill, but I would surmise that the darkness is the reason for the dull coloring shown. Thanks for sharing your adventures, I subscribed after seeing the first video by you and look forward to watching more!

Wrong. Fluorite only fluoresces under blacklight. It does NOT phosphores after being exposed to white light. It's more than likely calcite. Calcite can fluoresce under blacklight and also leave a phosphorescent trail after being exposed to light. It really depends on what trace minerals are in the calcite. This video is gonna have millions of views and exactly the kind of stuff YT was made for .
1.4m in 9 days. amazing
Thanks for taking me somewhere I would never see in person. I appreciate you two.

That “WOW” rippled the water and summed the whole video up!
Thanks guys, looking forward to skating around and hot-tubbin down there one day!
It is absolutely astonishing that vast epic worlds exist right under our feet and hardly anyone even knows they exist! A small hole in the forest floor or a small hole in a rock formation opens up inside to this gigantic other world!! Anything could be living down there and we wouldn’t have a clue!!! Truly AMAZING!! 😱😁🙏 Thank you so much for sharing your adventures and exploration of this spectacular other world as I would otherwise never see such things!!❤️
Aww you guys were so careful with the formations! Kudos for keeping it pristine!
I would like to see even more care for the cave ecosystem
@@annmarielong4029its not like they killed anything? Yes maybe scared off a salamander or two with some bright lights and splashing water but in no way would that harm them.
They mostly stuck to "paths" around landmarks and avoided crushing anything fragile. They could be more careful, I would like to see the utmost care as well, but i also want to see the cave haha
How do you guys ever find your way back out? I was on the edge of my seat watching this, it is so amazing and you did a fantastic job videoing it. Thank you from the bottom of this old heart.
Yeah, i’m such a grandma. I’m yelling no go back, go back like they can hear me!🤣
@@LadyEnyalus Same. I had to keep reminding myself that they had uploaded so they must have made it out.
@@nikiTricoteuse exactly 💯
I watched with another and we was thinking, will they have to turn around and GO ALLLLL THE WAY BAAAACK????
Did some cave exploring when I was a kid. We used chalk to make arrows pointing the way back.
@@nikiTricoteuse I didn't think that way. I've gotten used to those "back room" videos in virtual worlds. They run into weird creatures and never escape. Somehow, I guess someone finds their footage in those worlds.
Just wow!! Thank you guys for allowing us to join you on your adventure! Too cool!
This is the best video I have seen in a long time. Thanks for bringing all of us along. Great adventure, no cussing, womderful cave. Y'all were careful not to damage anything. Nice to see people from your generation show respect for this natural wonder. Needs to be preserved. Obviously not many people have been in there.😊
You guys are totally amazing, I would not have the nerve to walk through all those underground caverns. Love to watch y’all do it while I’m setting dry in my chair. Hats off to both of you. Amazing amazing amazing.
'I hear a car !' - no you didnt, what you heard was my huge sigh of relief after watching this at my home in Edinburgh, Scotland !. Great video - enthralling from start to finish !
😂😂😂😂
😂😂 for real!
I am watching from Edinburg, Texas, USA. (-:
11:28 I swear I heard a girl say something. You can hear right right after "These are all dead flies" It sounds like a girl saying Are You Ready. Maybe something else. It's hard to tell.
Truth!
An amazing cave system, one of the best, probably the best I have seen. You respected the cave, did not break bits off and trample fragile floor formations etc. Just as well the local yobs clearly don' t know or spay paint would spoil it. Thank you.
The algorithm brought me here and I’m glad it did. What an absolute treat!
An Aussie caver here, thats one of the best caves I've seen. You guys are very lucky to have access, and I think i'd be going back to see what else you could find!
It's an incredible cave, I've done the adventure tour at Naracoorte and this is several orders of magnitude better 😮
Have you even been to the Curammulka cave ?? I was there mid 70s .
@@digger5521 No, I cave in WA and some out on the nullabor and Tassie.
Do you guys have air quality sensors? I would have been scared away by the bad smell and bubbly water
Caving "temps"
Draft is a great sign of fresh air, but I wonder what killed those flies! And how did all that wood get down there?
I was wondering the same.
Pretty awesome, how far were yall from the entrance when yall came out?thanks, that was truly amazing
You guys have balls of steel......NO WAY I'd go 20 foot in there......
Thanks for the ride👍👍
I would go 21 feet & say 'I don't think so!'..
@boblowrey8266 How did they get you out? Your parents were probably freaking out.
Glad you made it out. ❤
UNBELIEVABLE! Can you imagine your lights going out.
I never thought of that. When I read your comment I got nervous! lol
@@jazzcatt Yup. A hand-cranked lantern is also an option as a last resort
@@BinaryBlueBull Back in my day of caving that wasn't an option.
Wow.. This makes me wanna hike instruments deep into a cave and jam down there. How sick would that be in that massive room you guys found? Bravo, what an awesome vid
I just want to chime in on these comments and say echo the sentiments of a lot of people here. I am so amazed at how huge and gorgeous this cave is but also terrified for your safety and if you were my sons, I would be horrified to know that y’all were doing this. But at the same time, grateful to see something I would never be able to see in real life. Thank you so much for such an incredible video! And thank you for not being Clickbait just so refreshing. And here are your flowers. 💐💐💐💐 and your applause 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! BRAVO!

I’m so glad I clicked on this video. What an incredible journey you took me on! That area you enter around 13:10 is one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever seen. Literally walking between separated layers of the earth, looking like something out of sci-fi movie! Thank you guys 👏👏👏
Insane. I would have been out after the first 50ft. I amazes me how huge those chambers were. And pointing out the cracks in the columns along with all those areas where a layer has fallen really speaks to what the ground might be doing in that area. I really hope that some of this is hype and that y'all are doing what you need to stay safe! Thanks for taking us on the adventure.
I would live in that cave how amazing that would be! Imagine with ambient lighting and music

So I’m an industrial sized fella. I greatly appreciate you guys taking us all along on your adventure because I would have gotten stuck at the start requiring the jaws of life to extricate me!!
industrial sized lol I like that one
@ well my dad is 6’6” and always said there are REAL men and Wanna-be’s. So as I became more round than the law allows, I made it to industrial sized! I’m only 5’11”!?

15:13 favorite part, what a joy! “Dude let’s run” 😃
Yo this video is fantastic. Is there more stuff like this on UA-cam? These guys are in the moment, enjoying what they find as they would if no one was watching. No chatting to an “audience”. I love it, I feel the excitement of exploring with them.
22:57 that fish is like, "leave me alone, I came down here to be away from everyone else" 😂😂

An enthusiasm that can only be realised by young bodies..

Yup, they bend, twist, stretch and tilt without breaking or rebreaking anything. I never heard one groan of pain just the shock of cold water!
Thank God for guys like you, I will never see anything like this in my life without people like you, felt my claustrophobia tingling the whole video hahah. Great video guys definitely deserves a subscription
So glad people like you exist and share, because there is no way I'd ever go beyond the entrance. My anxiety is high just watching but I can't stop looking. Thanks for sharing.
I keep saying the same thing no way ever
What an insane trip into the underworld!!! The crystal stalactite ceiling is beautiful!!!

This video of you two exploring that cave really had me on the edge of my seat! It made me think of my own boys and how much they love this kind of adventure. I used to live in Missouri and we did some exploring there, but nothing like this!
I'm so proud of how much you both know about caving. You're smart, safe, and clearly passionate about it. It's awesome to see how well you work together as a team. There's no competition, just great ideas bouncing back and forth. You guys are lucky to have each other - true gems!
And it sounds like you can visit this amazing place whenever you want. Someone in the comments mentioned it goes on forever... makes you realize how important it is to preserve it. If everyone took a little piece, it would disappear.
Thanks for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it and it brought up a lot of feelings!
"I hear a car" lol. I was relieved too
😊
this is the first caving video that actually made me want to go into a cave instead of never coming near one, ever. thanks so much for posting!
The crystal pool at 19 minutes in..... awesome !!! and the ceiling shortly after that..... wow.... AND my huge sigh of relief when you found the exit...... thank you so much for sharing.
I would be afraid of getting lost down there. Thanks for posting this 😊
I literally have never watched a video about people walking through a cave… this was so freaking cool❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dude! This was insane. You boys got big balls to go in that far.
You guys are F'ing brave because I'm definitely not going in there and I sure as hell am not getting in no water in a cave. Great video broskis 👍
Great video! And you're not swearing, I like that.
One of the best features - it can be enjoyed by everyone, even kindergarten students!
the fact that this is casually under someone’s house is so intriguing! i imagine them living in some kind of smaller 18th century medieval castle, repurposed by dracula, surrounded by woods, a massive body of water, and located away from modern society.
Since they never showed his house, let your imagination fill in those gaps! It could be true after all...
They're excitment and enthusiasm is contagious makes you want to keep watching just to see what's around the next corner. Great video
It was like exploring another planet, untouched Nature? What an experience, Thanks for letting us be there too.
I love that you guys only took pictures and didn't deface anything!
They drew on a lot of things. I personally like their smiley face art. :)
I said WOW a thousand times!! Held my breath and got mega anxious 😬 Thank God for that tiny speck of light in the distance! Great adventure, super cool formations. Thank you for being brave for me ❤
I've ran across caves and mines here in AZ. I couldn't go far in because i didn't want to get lost. Badge of bravery to you guys.
That was super cool and gave me anxiety the entire time
Ditto 😂
For sure!
I have to say this was the nicest cave I have seen on UA-cam...
I would have told absolutely NO ONE about that cave.
With the opportunity to go full batman? Who would give that up? An elevator would rock
This will keep it from turning into a myth before it is needed again in another 6,000 to 12,000 years ❤
@@ConstitutionalRepublicStandsbest to carve it onto a monolithic structure 😮
@@mick58kc72 Indeed, like the Anubis temple turned into a Sphinx ? Would have to be sturdier stone than that. Crystal Cove? Crystal Castle 🏰?

Even the creators of the Harry Potter moves couldn't come up with something this mystical! It's amazing!
The way my anxiety is set up. The way I feel claustrophobic in elevators… I could never, can barely watch. My heart was beating a million miles per hour. Maybe this is therapy for me 😂😂 kudos to you guys! Can tell you two love what you’re doing 🤙

Wrong. Fluorite only fluoresces under blacklight. It does NOT phosphores after being exposed to white light. It's more than likely calcite. Calcite can fluoresce under blacklight and also leave a phosphorescent trail after being exposed to light. It really depends on what trace minerals are in the calcite.
It would have been absolutely amazing if they had a blacklight with them.

I live in rural Tennessee and there are a lot more caves out here than most people realize. It's just that most landowners are hesitant about sharing the fact that they have awesome caves right on their properties.
Very true I have 3 I know about in Jackson County there on no map I know of.
