- FINALLY, specialists are here! ♥ This drawing is actually also one from 4 years ago. I'm just catching up with my own pending work!
I might do voice overs for these redesigns at some point, talking about my design choices and personal tastes about these characters, but for now, have this!:
Prince Sky from Eraklion (Bloom's bf), who is a very nice and good-hearted boy, buy in my version isn't as much of a warrior as he is a leader/strategist for the group!
Royal guard Brandon, (Sky's bff / bodyguard and Princess Stella's bf), whom I wanted to give a "tank" (the RPG role) look, being naturally big and strong, just perfect for the job!
Bad boy Riven (Musa's bf), who isn't as toxic as his original version, but just as competitive and obsessed about training! Which makes him a weapons expert and a very, VERY skilled warrior!
Boy genius Timmy (Tecna's bf at some point...), the youngest of the group and the most intelligent as well! He's a tech-expert (just like the original one), which makes him a great asset to the team eventhough he's not as physically-skilled as his peers!
Helia, the artist (Flora's bf), an actual pacifist who became a specialist due to family's pressure (in my version, at least!) He doesn't like weapons and relies more in a mix of martial arts and his string gloves to capture and incapacitate his enemies!
Nabu the illussions fairy (Aisha's fiancée. Originally a wizard, but I'm keeping it between Fairies, Witches and Specialists-only for my version!) a charming boy (both literally and metaphorically) who becomes part of the group later, being the only magic user!
Please tell me which one's your favorite!!! ♥ My personal favorite, both in his og version and these redesign (which you can probably see because he didn't change that much) is Helia! 😍

I so appreciate the hairstyle change for Helia in the uniform. You ain't gonna battle with hair covering half of your face😂 Same with Sky.
I know, right??? I definitely tried to be a bit more down-to-earth with their designs, since they're more pshysical than magical. I'm really glad you appreciate thos details! ♥
I feel the same way, but you get what you get when animators take liberties to deliver them on a weekly basis.

@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 Some of the boys had bangs/hair that would hang in front of their faces and cover half their vision. Good for character recognition, bad for situations where a fighter would need to you know, see the battlefield?

YESSSS. Glad you noticed it! I wanted to put some Stella references in him because I imagine them as the kind of couple in which she'd gift him little pieces of jewelry and fancy stuff, and he'd carry her bag and shopping bags, etc.! hahahaha ♥
Also YES! Nabu as a Fairy seemed like the right way to do it, since he's more on the magical side than a physical warrior like the rest! ♥

Hélia was so beautiful, my god, I was in love with him when I was little and I fell even more in love with his redesign, for me this appearance suited him much better than the one they gave him in season 4 and above

YES. Me too!!!! There's something just so aesthetically pleasing about color coding, that's why I decided to assign a color to each scpeacialist, eventhough this is supposed to be kind of a school uniform for them! 😂♥

Finally some colores! The way they all had the same uniform was driving me nuts!
Yes! I tried to keep the idea of them having all the same uniform with different accent colors (which the originals had on the gemstones on their chest and their weapons only) as if it were their school uniforms, but added more colored details to add more diversity to the group, and make them look as a superhero team! (Power Rangers inspiration? WHERE!?? 👀)
FINALLY! For a show where fashion was so important i always thought that the boys clothes were a little "meh". Now someone is changing it and I'M ALL FOR IT XD

I'm glad you like them!!!! I must admit it was kind of hard to design. I took inspiration from their 2 first outfits (Season 8 doesn't exist!) and had to look to LOTS of references on combat outfits from different fantasy media, but I'm pretty happy with the result! ♥

YES. Helia's hairstyle changes didn't happen. His original hairstyle was PERFECT, and I only tied it up a little bit higher for combat purposes! hahaha ♥ I'm really glad you enjoyed these, thank you for the support! ♥
I like these designs a lot better.
I love how the boys have their own colours added to the uniforms. Each of their weapons look more unique too.
I like how you kept Sky’s long hair (was never that fond of his short hair in later seasons) & the fact that he & Helia put theirs up when on duty.
It’s good to see that Nabu’s outfit also changes a bit when in casual & that you changed him to a fairy as it always bugged me that all the fairies were female. Male fairies do exist, but seems some writers don’t wanna show a guy being “too girly”.
The little details like Brandon’s star bracelet which matches Stella’s powers & Riven’s more bad-boy look are genius.
Honestly, why couldn’t the creators be a little more bold when designing the characters?
Thank you for your comment! I absolutely agree on all of this! I don't consider my art to be specially unique or out-of-the-norm, but I definitely like to represent diversity in all of its forms and question some "norms" present in shows from my childhood and teenage years: Why not show male fairies? or short boys? or chubby girls? or good witches? or masculine girls? or morally complex characters? etc etc etc! I'm really glad people appreciate thos details from my work!!! ♥

LMAO That's probably a joke Riven has on him hahahaha. But it's actually just a thing that he's the only of the group who can carry a weapon that size! It's probably more used to cut through stuff than to actually swordfight, if I'm being honest here...

If it's quite obvious for Sky, Brandon and Nabu, I have more difficulty for Riven and Helia

before they really were just their haircuts, now they really stand apart as their own characters.

I KNOW, RIGHT??? I really liked Riven's original vibe A LOT hahaha, and I was always really mad they weren't capable to do a hot-headed, sassy character without turning him into a toxic assh*le. So NO WORRIES! Here you can have all the sexyness with none of the bastardness! (Ok, maybe he IS a little bit of a bastard but not in a terribly unhealthy and hopeless way.... hahahaha)
they look amazing and so handsome. they haven't looked this good since their G1 design. thank you for giving Helia's original hair again and Nabu is hot, he was one of my favorites. Riven is much better looking in your design. and their specialist suits and weapons look great, and each are different.

I love how the uniforms are the same but the accents were unique to each guy this is what season 8 tried and failed doing. Kinda wish Riven just had ear and eyebrow piercings and regular rings instead of the mouth one but thats just me. Also love the tattoo.
Yeah! I took inspiration from their outfits from earlier seasons, just adding a bit more color! I figured there outfits would be like their school uniforms, but definitely wanted to go for a color-coded team as well! I’m glad you enjoy the result! 💖

OMG I’m in love with this vision 😂 They absolutely ARE and RPG party, in the sense that each of them has a role/specialty in group combat! It’d be really cool if specialists had divisions based on the skills they want to focus on…! 👀
@@geminineart Yessss that would’ve been so cool! You’d think we’d have gotten to see what discipline each boy *specialized* in, though I guess that wasn’t the point of the show to be fair 😆. Still, it would’ve been funny to see them basically living in some intense fighting anime every time we cut back to Red Fountain, but the whole time they’re just gushing about the Alfea girls 🤣.

I love the casual outfits you gave them--and I appreciate you making Nabu a fairysince I have a vendetta against uniforms and prefer magic over weapons, lol (that's my issue with the specialists in general, not your work).
No worries! I am definitely a fan of magic over weapons as well (I actually HATE drawing weapons, and I think you can tell that due to the simplicity of the ones I dre here!😂)! Though I also like representing all kinds of characters, not only the ones I personally like! But I wouldn't miss the opportunity to make Nabu a fairy, since in this version of mine, Wizards aren't a thing. If you're a magic user, you're either a Fairy or a Witch!
@@geminineart Yeah, I'm kinda confused about how wizards and warlocks are trained since they only exist as villains (all the magic guys are villains of generic, sadly). Hopefully the reboot will work things out!

@@seleneklarelee930 Yep! Look it up. It has art that's been released, and it was planned for 2024, but since it's being dubbed in a lot of languages Iginio said it'll probably be out in 2025. It's CGI and has new stories. Based on the art, the Trix and the wizards of the dark circle (or at least Oberon) are the villains.

Yes it is!!!! I always liked it a lot, I felt it reflected his personality (status?) very well! So I instead made it his Fairy outfit (Probably enchantix version or similar...!)

I would love the idea of the specialists having something like a piece of "every day" jewelry that olds their uniform and weapon in case of emergency cuz like you telling me their girlfriends can make full changes with new outfits every couple of months but they can't make a quick one to their never changin uniform? Feels unfair
This is canon for my version now! I had already thought their weapons were made of energy (or smth similar) and could be reduced to their handles, so if you look at Riven closely, you’ll see he’s got a small sheath on his lower back, carrying a third, “compressed” weapon! But I DO like the idea of them having some item to carry their uniforms with them! (Maybe with nanotechnology? Idk!)

But like I don't think you need to go as far as to make it nanotechnology, I think it would be nice for them to need to go to the fairy's once in a while to make their weapons and stuff enchanted, with that in mind, it would be really nice for them to also need to combine their weapons with a accessorie using fairy magic so the accessories can be something changeable and/or something their gfs gave them

Will you be redesigning the villains next? Mainly Valtor(my favorite villain)?👀 Besides that how would you handle him? To be honest the ending of season 3 and Valtor was kinda rushed,for me at least. I honestly wouldn't have minded if they made season 4 with them all trying to earn Enchantix and defeat Valtor I feel like it would have flashed the way they earned them better and we'd learn more about Zenith and Melody. They also could have given us more about Bloom and Valtor's connection as dragon flame with the same coin of two sides. Heck I hope Bloom could have truly earned her Enchantix by saving Valtor from the control of the Ancestresses,I mean then for all we knew he was the only other living Dominion citizen beside Bloom I thought that was where they'd go.🤷
And although I am an sparxshipper I'd have liked if they had more of platonic relationship too,what with them being the last of their people,flame keepers and had been brainwashed and manipulated by a powerful evil being/beings. He could have been her advisor later on and helped her with her duties and been a great mentor for her powers as ge has more experience with weilding the Dragon flame then her.
Sorry for ranting.😅 Anyway what do you think of my idea?
Hummmm... about the villains, so far I've only got the Trix. Then there'll be some secondary characters I used to love, and after that I think I'll be doing their Enchantix forms! so there's no plan to draw anymore Winx characters at the moment, but I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind, since Valtor seems to be such a popular character! ♥ Thank you for your comment!!!

I love it so much~ In this version, you think all they relationships with the winx are the same as the original? Or would you change something?
They'll basically the same! I think it'd be more a thing of timelines than the actual pairings, which would go (approximately) in this order:
1. Nabu will be kept alive, THANK YOU, and his relationship with Aisha would be pretty similar to the og show, being engaged by their parents. They'd share a bit more about their lives and experiences, since they're both fairies, and would take their relationship easy, step by step and without much pressure.
2. Brandon and Stella would show interest for each other from the moment they met on season one and would get together in no time. He's basically a himbo and she's a diva, and they compliment each other and know how to handle eachother's personalities and quirks in a way that noone else could, so they'd be a perfect example of an open and carefree relationship with little drama.
3. Helia and Flora would be pretty similar to the series, too! (They were my favorite couple, so...): They'll be your typical "love at first sight" kind of relationship, only he'll have to break through her shyness, winning her heart with drawings and poems to become the sweetest, healthiest couple there is.
4. Riven and Musa would keep the initial sassyness of their relationship, since they've both got some strong personalities that sometimes clash, but would get through their toxic dynamics instead of revolving in them like in the og show: They'd hang out A LOT as friends, sharing many interests and passions, but would start having problems when they try to date, so they'll have to learn to manage their own emotions and respect each other's boundaries before becoming a couple.
5. Sky and Bloom would have more of a slowburn kind of relationship: She's focused on finding out who she is first, and eventhough he's set his eyes on her from the start, Sky needs to figure out his situation with Diaspro and confront his parents before getting involved with Bloom. They'll have the most difficulties to get together for reasons that scape their control.
6. Finally, Timmy and Tecna won't be a thing until years later, since Timmy is both young and very shy, and Tecna is not very interested in romanticism. So he'll have a crush on her for a while and they'll get closer as friends and intellectual partners before becoming a thing with time!.

I’m so glad you like him!!! I had SO MUCH fun with him, since he was the only one who didn’t need to be fit, and didn’t have to wear an uniform, so I had lots of freedom when redesigning him❤️
Very nice! Riven looks good in red but I would prefer him in dark pink oder purple. Helia Looks good in dark blue but I kinda miss the orange. Timmy also should be yellow not orange but that's just because I know it like that haha
I really liked Riven’s original tone as well! I honestly only changed it to make the group more balanced, since I was adding Nabu (who has que pinkish-purple shade)! And there wasn’t anyone for a fully-red tone. Same with Helia: Since I was keeping Timmy in the yellow-orange shade, I just thought the blue would fit him better, both for group balance and his own personality! ❤️
oh my GOD????? they turned out amazing, freaking hell. and the way you shade is gorgeous!!! i'm struggling so bad with coloring and shading in my art. i'm still a newbie
anyways, is there a chance that you might do this with the w.i.t.c.h. or totally spies girls in the future? 🥹 your style is incredible! the hairstyles and fashion choices are so on point, i cannot- 😭🩷

Also, those were two of my absolute favorite shows when I was a teenager, so I’ll be doing them FOR SURE! When? I’m not sure. But they’ll be here eventually! 💖
@@geminineart wah, thank you for responding 🥺💗 about my shading issues... well, i struggle with finding on where the lighting comes from and where to put the darker/lighter tones on hair, clothing, etc. 😅 but it's okay, i'll figure it out somehow eventually! as i said, i'm still a newbie - started doing digital art only just a month ago 🙈
and big yay for you to consider the other shows in the future!!!! take your time, no need to rush. as a 90s kid, these cartoons were a big part of my life so seeing them again as an adult... it's such a treat AHAHAHA
@@szwniki 90’s kid here too!💖 (as you can probably tell, hahaha). About the shading, you may wanna try with simpler shapes first (spheres, cilinders, etc). Then you can start with simple objects (an apple, a mug, a bottle…), and maybe do some real life studies (drawing objects or people exactly as you see them)! Help yourself with lamps and flashlights to emphasize the shadows of the object you’re drawing, and even draw a little sun in your drawing, to keep your focus clear on where the light comes from! I hope it helps! ❤️ and keep going!

Yeah there are mentions of male fsiryd but I think the creators we're sticking to only female fairy probs wanted the female to not be masculine although I would have loved seeing diversity within the show

I wish whole heartedly that Netflix version of Winx was like the original TV version, rather then some fairy version of Riverdale/Nancy Drew. Honestly, it’s a disaster and a disgrace to the original!! 💢💢
I knoooow, we all suffered with those series hahahaha. I watched it entirely, and even liked the basic premise and the character’s complexity (mainly Bloom’s), but I DIDN’T like most of the changes, the designs or even the way the story developed… but oh, well…!

I'm so glad to not watch it, the trailer was enough for me to turn away... it looks like it would fit in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina world, what with the dark aesthetics and magic...

Pardon my observation but I can't help but think that their feet are too small. A foot can be measured from elbow to wrist. It can help make your character look more sturdy on their feet. I have no comment on their design other than that and the great sword. It is too imbalanced and feel more like a club. A helpful suggestion is to look up designs on historical great sword for reference. Granted that they are "modern" but in art, everything is conveyed through visual. Someone familiar with art can feel the weight of the design and someone familiar with historical weaponry can feel the imbalance. As for the weapon being formed by "energy", I would add glow to convey this. As it is, they look like either a plastic toy or made of glass.
This is a critic to help, not to be negative. From one artist to another. Great work otherwise. Keep it up.

The redesign uniforms looks like Space Rangers or power rangers. Anyways Timmy looks like a boy, helia looks like a Girl with his hair tied and I don’t think it was smart to draw Nabu as a fairy along with his sorceress staff ( as if it would portray a conflicting impression as a sorcerer but a fairy)
1. Yes, I was pretty much going for the color-coded team of superheroes for these redesigns, so thank you!
2. Timmy looks like a boy because he IS a boy! They’re all around 15-16 y/o in this drawing, but Timmy is one or two years younger, so thank you for noticing!
3. I don’t mind Helia looking androgynous. I think his bodytype is masculine enough, but even if he looks more feminine, I like that interpretation as well! There ARE feminine boy in this world too, after all!
4. Not only sorcerers can own magic staffs. Stella has a magic staff too, even in the original version, doesn’t she? So I think what’s not very smart is trying to pass every little thing you don’t like as serious criticism. It’s ok if you don’t like those details from these redesigns, but I want to let you know I made all of those choices consciously, and I don’t find any of your points to be actually negative! 💖
