@@69FOSTER to be honest, even the fp3 is a great tuner and supplied by harley now as an oem product, in fact it is tunable by mobile app with great product support, the sept tuner is laptop only but more in depth only if you know how to use it so dont be put off by alternatives. Having watched a few of tour videos on The Screamin Eagle Super Tuner Pro. I can see how retuning would possibly cure the issues I have. They are hesitation at around 30mph (which you mentioned in another Video) and decal popping, I have sent for the Leads and downloaded the software. My Bike is a 2016 Dyna Street Bob, and was Stage 1 tuned by my Harley Dealer when purchased from new. As I am now waiting for Leads to arrive I had a look at the options on the Screamin Eagle Software. I notice however. in the Manually Select File Tab my Bike is not mentioned, I assume this is because the Dyna's have been discontinued. Can I use another Bike option in place of my Bike? Thanks for the Video's
Firstly , thanks for watching the videos 👍. And secondly, check what model year the bikes go up to on your software. H.D dont update any more but depends on what version you are running. I will try to check if its on mine over weekend. But when you get leads, it should recognise ecm and bike. There are more files in program under a folder that might not list until you plug in. 👍
@@ALCHEMOTO Sorry to trouble you again, but I just realised I had downloaded the Software for The Pro Street Tuner and not the Super Tuner Pro. I cant seem to find the software download for this Tuner. When I connect to my Bike, I am getting warning that VCI is incorrect type. Can you advise?

Is a Dyno buy hd a better option I would use tuner to monitor I guess with minor changes it should be okay or work but if you go from stage 1 to 4 just pay 300 for a Dyno set it and forget it.
Dyno tune would always be a better more precise option, but you can always use the same software with a dyno, H.D no longer give the software out as download so its getting harder for the orange box guys now. Personally, I would go dyno with a stage 4 and monitor figures with the sert tuner over time or just go fp3 route. 👍👍
Do you have to drive and get the recorded data to install the stage 1 tune? Thinking about buying the tuner and doing it myself as I feel my bike has dropped/lost its tune
You dont need to, can always do that after if you feel the need, just load up map and ride, see how it is, usually thats all h.d will do anyway if pre installed map, can always tweak it later 👌
Hi Mate, the only problem is that they are usually matched to vcm it was originally programmed with , so not a multiple use item.. there was talk of harley being able to reflash unit but even so, you could probably buy another tuner like the fp3 for less. Personally that is what i would do 👍
Hi Rick. Yes, it does marry to the bike, so once done it cannot be used on another, only the sofware can be used to tune other bikes that have their own module/ tuner. A few second hand tuners appear for sale by folk not realising this so is a common question .. 👍
Hi, Its getting harder to find online since H.D pulled the link. If you search forums there are a few links still there. Failing that. Message me via my fbook page and will sort via email. 👍
🤣🤣👍. I have a les paul copy that holds a tune 🤔, for a week. Once your map is set up, it should and will stay in that tune until you add different intakes, exhausts, cams or other mods. Never had 1 map vary, on mine or others I have mapped . But even if it did for any other reason, your map will be stored on laptop (handy to put on a usb) for future use. 👍
Lots of us tune twice a year. Once in the spring and later about wintertime. After initial tuning each session you should always do one or more smart tunes to fine tune all the cells in the ECM to your riding habits.
My dad got one of these with his bike and he’s downloaded the software etc plugs it in and he gets to the tune my bike part and it comes up with a message saying Microsoft have encountered an error and needs to close down. Would you know what we are doing wrong or what we need to do next? We called Harley in glasgow and the fella said he didn’t have much experience as typically they are brought in with the bike and they do it within half hour. If you can give us advice or forward us in the direction of someone who can it would be much appreciated
Hi Vikki. Try checking software is up to date before he plugs into bike. Also, try a different usb port on laptop. Also, plug into bike and then switch ignition on , verify connection, leave for a minute before hitting tune my bike. Good luck. 👍. If all fails, uninstall and download again, It is probably just a glitch as the software is only downloaded on the matching of valid bike serial number 👍
The serial number is 17 digits long but it’s only letting us type in 10. It’s come up with a message saying the programme isn’t one that Microsoft allows 🙈 do you have any advice?

It may come up that map is not specific for that year, but if details are correct, then proceed. There are a few videos in my tuning section that explain more on this 👍
The SERT tuner is for efi models so will be from those models up and not for carb. So if you had a bike fuel injected, these would be suitable although hard to obtain now, so most go for vance and hines fp3 tuner instead
All harley with the tuner but they are linked to one bike once used . They are not used much now as the fp3 tuners are more desirable for the home user
You dont need specific air filter or exhausts, can be any high flow filter and any exhaust other than standard. Then, if you have the tuning box, and software downloaded, you can go ahead with the stage 1 map 👍
You would specifically choose the map with cams on it, and then fine tune after loading the base map. Base map will make a huge difference anyway but modifying the data tables to suit will make another leap from the base map 👍
So my bike already had the SE heavy breather and SE II full slash cut muffler system. It was tuned with this tuner and ran well. I since put V & H big radius pipes on it for more noise, do I have to custom tune it now or can I still find some kind of preset in the program?

Today I hooked up my Harley, but I can't connect the bike...even I switched on the iginition.. Can you help me solve that problem? Greetings from Belgium
Hi Frank, firstly, I do like the Roadking 👍. Fantastic bike. Is it the orange tuner (sert) or black tuner ( sept) you have. And when you download software and put in vcm number does it accept . If so. Then once plugged into bike software page open, then ignition on. Is that telling you (no vehicle connected or recognised).

@@ALCHEMOTO ,Hi, few more questions. so you install some after market pipes and new air intake, then you tune the bike with the SE tuner? Or do you run the bike first, put a few miles on it. Come back and then tune?I was told do not run that engine without a tune with new pipes and intake, it will run lean cause damage. I was also told that if you change baffles, you should retune. Silly question, how does the ECM/tuner know you changed the baffles. Thx
@@rebelrobz Yes mate, you are right by that info given. You can change either intake or pipes without a tune, as tge small difference in fuel/air ratio adjustment wont cause concern, but change both and the ecm needs to be flashed. What it will do is run lean as requires more fuel to compensate for volume of intake, ecm doesnt know, and continues to supply same values and so will run hot . When you load new map through tuner, it is telling ecm/vcm by stage 1 map it has had those components changed. Fit/tune/ride is the rule 👍
You download the software online, it is free, but then you register with serial number of your tuning box. Cables are purchased from any dealer or you can find online, but there are 2 types, 4 pin and 6 pin plug, depending on model year for bike. 👍
@@ALCHEMOTO Can you post a link on where to get the software? I'll be doing my stage 1 here soon and would like to do the basic map upload myself. Thanks

Failing that, I would contact dealer . If I have install file for sert (orange race tuner) its possible I may be able to put a download option on my website when get time but check version first 👍
No, only if you notice the bike has gone out of tune or if you have replaced exhausts exc. Although leaving the map but riding with the lead plugged in for data might help to fine tune it slightly 👍👍
@@michaellydon7466 sometimes if plugged in too early it can throw a not recognised error. Exit program, unlug. Reboot software, plug back in when prompted. It should be locked to your vci so unusual if still not recognising after reboot 🤔
Hi, there wont be any base maps on the sert tuners for street 500. The last software updates were around 3 year ago. Most now have moved to fp3 tuners or similar after 2016/17. Thanks
It wont make much difference if it was 2 into 1 vance and hines. You can still run it with same map anyway as the standard stage 1 map is not specific, only for air filter and exhaust mod. This is why it benefits from more specific tuning for your needs via the sept tuner. Run it and see how it performs. If there is a doubt or not as smooth as before, then its time to build a specific map, starting with air/fuel and decel if you are getting excessive popping. 👍
I bought a SCE tuner 6 months ago as a new through a private seller in eb@y. I finally found the cables that were missing and when I start tuning the Bike, the following message appeared " This VCI has been married to a different ECM. It cannot be used to program this ECM".
Hi, unfortunately it sounds like the tuner has been plugged into another bike. Once its paired, it locks it out so it is specific to the bike. And should then be kept with bike when sold. I hear this happening quite often. If you can still get hold of seller, I would let them know with a picture of the message ans see if you can get refunded
Cheers Marc, good question that, on my later video for map building I could not use my software for a client with black box street pro tuner, so had to download (basically the same software) but to her vci. Open software first. It should say. No bike/ecm detected, then plug in and switch ignition on. Or is this what you are doing ?. Also make sure pins are clean on the plug. Unusual to freeze though. Might be worth redownloading software if problem persists. Other thing is there are 2 software types. Black box and orange box,but to be fair, will only proceed with correct ecm number.
Now it says an incorrect VCI type has been connected this thing is absolute trash back to the dealership it will go. I have spent 30 hours researching browsing forums and everything possible there is no possible way I have a functional VCI.
As mentioned before, sert software orange box/sept software black box. Open software/plug to bike/ignition on, i guess thats where it is saying error. Also, does the number on the tuner match your bikes ecm number ?. Was the tuner supplied with the bike, or bought after. ?
Its not really about the h.p, more about having to tune if swapping out exhaust and filter, you will realistically only gain 8-10 horses max and 15 with a specific built map and 2 into 1 pipes, any more you would be going into stage 2/3 with cams etc 👌

Hi thanks for the info ,but can i use this tuner to my xl883 to conversion please ?
What year is your bike?.
All efi bikes will have the necessary port to use the sept/sert tuner. Or even fp3 and other tuning methods 👍
I have one of these laying around I used on my 14 street glide do you happen to know if this will work on a 19 road glide?
Hi Mate, the only problem is that they are usually matched to vcm it was originally programmed with , so not a multiple use item.. there was talk of harley being able to reflash unit but even so, you could probably buy another tuner like the fp3 for less. Personally that is what i would do 👍
How much do you want for it?

Hi Rick.
Yes, it does marry to the bike, so once done it cannot be used on another, only the sofware can be used to tune other bikes that have their own module/ tuner. A few second hand tuners appear for sale by folk not realising this so is a common question .. 👍

The SERT tuner is for efi models so will be from those models up and not for carb.

You would specifically choose the map with cams on it, and then fine tune after loading the base map. Base map will make a huge difference anyway but modifying the data tables to suit will make another leap from the base map 👍

Thanks for posting. Is the software included with the tuner or downloaded from HD? Were the cables included with the kit?

How do I do it if I had it tuned from harley with vance and hines stage 1 exhaust but now wanna change to a 2 into 1 hiwayman exhuast
Do you leave the tuner intact with the bike? Or unplug it like the rest
Unplugged once tuning completed 👍
