Michael , I’ve had my 116613LB Since 2015!!! In love with it every day , not that I wear it every day as you mentioned also!!! On days off I have worn my SD4K like you or GMT … I think the Bluesy though is Rolex’s most beautiful watch !!!! I had a previous 5 digit 16613lb years before which I sold off but regretted it ever since . So I purchased my new ceramic Bluesy new from my local AD and never looked back !!! Congrats on yours it looks stunning mate!!
Love my 126711 CHNR for similar reasons. The rose works lovely on darker skin and in some lighting even fades to a steel look Totally agree with your views on being mature enough (regardless of finance) to wear a bi-metal piece. You need to wear the piece not the other way around
I remember when I could have bought a bluesy for $4k (used) but at the time I was just beginning my professional career and at the same point in my watch journey. Hindsight being what it is, I should have bought it. Fantastic score! Cheers!
“Youve got to be able to back it up”. Words to live by. Its one of the reasons i got into luxury watches. Ive always been into watches and wearing them, but i went into luxury to remember to back it up
Rolex prices have gone up like crazy. Today the Rolex Submariner Blue Model m126613lb-0002 with 2-tone OysterSteel and 18K gold bracelet retails at an authorized Rolex dealer for $15,600.00. In 2020 it was $14,300, so it has gone up 9%. Not surprisingly used Rolex watches are higher priced, perhaps due to supply and demand. It is my favorite Rolex watch, it is super beautiful and very classy looking. That is why I just bought it last week. It maybe hard to find and buy, but my super friendly Rolex AD got it for me super fast, just in one day.....unbelievable.
Hi! I currently own a datejust 16233 two tone with a black face and diamond hour markers. It's my first rolex! Wanted to celebrate my 30th with it. Currently looking at buying a bluesey to dedicate to the birth of my son! Everyone goes on and on about the steel models, but I love the two tone classic look. Also looking forward to going up on wrist size from a 36 to a 41
I’ve been waiting for a submariner 41mm green bezel for sometime now. I stopped by the AD to chasing it up and was offered two tone rose gold yatchtmaster 40 black dial ref:126621 I took it, I’m a steel watch guy I’m still getting used to seeing that gold on my wrist. Sometimes I find it loooks better from a distance in the mirror over looking down on it direct. It definitely looks better when under nice lighting or out in the sun. Hasn’t taken away my craving for the sub.
Loved the video. Great commentary. Couldn’t agree more w/the observations on age/dress/profession commiserate choices. One very well may have the money to buy a $45k DD at 28, but trust this - no one is confusing you with Richard Dawkins, Daniel Boulud, or JFK. Real stripes are earned, not bought. Re - when best to wear, I tend to wear these sort of pieces when I know I’m going to need some beauty during the day. Not dissimilar to a gorgeous pocket square or particularly special cuff links. Re - the model, this is where reasonable minds can differ. I personally prefer the white script and find the overall new dimensions better than the former model. Thanks for the video, Mike! Always love watching your content.
Personally, I feel that the 21mm bracelet feels better anchored on my wrist in a very subtle way on the 12 series as opposed to the 20mm on 11 series. I believe the 11 series subs are roughly 40.2ish mm vs 40.5 mm on the 12 series. Very small difference. But I understand where you're coming from. This watch game is all about sublties. I enjoy the points of view you offer on your channel whether I agree or disagree, which is a hallmark of solid content. Carry on my friend.
Greetings i have the same watch 116613lb one thing that i notice that no many ppl seems to know or talk about are the gold letters on the 11 series the 12 serias has white letters and that was the difference between the black dial the the blue dial other than the color dial the markings are different i do prefer the gold markings however i think my opinion is bias since i own a bluesy what are your thoughts
Yes sir, I agree the 11 series is more handsome .. I am just not sure if I should go with a flat blue or a sunburst dial .. There's just something cool about that flat blue .. Inky blue that tones down all that flashiness ..
I’ve enjoyed wearing a similar range of Rolex models as you Michael & with hindsight would have just bought a 40mm Bluesy 5 years ago as a ‘one & done’. 40mm Sub is much better than 41mm in my opinion - & I own both. I could have bought the 41mm Bluesy at retail from my AD but paid more for a NOS 2010 with ‘Smurf’ dial last year & it’s one of my favourite watches. I’ve also considered a full gold 40mm but can’t convince myself to pull the tricker - the mix of gold/steel/blue is 🤩 & the gold text is the icing on the 🍰
What's your opinion on homage watches (I specify homage, NOT replicas). There are times where I'll want to wear a nice watch, but don't feel comfortable carrying five figures on my wrist (I don't have a Rolex yet). Curious to understand your thoughts on that.
Not a big fan of homage watches personally, for those who have the real watch already. But I understand if you don’t have the watch you want yet. I don’t like Tudor in that it releases old school Rolexes basically.
Hi Michael, I really enjoy your content and count myself one of those who’s been around long enough to appreciate the more complicated/ personal aspects of the reviews. Regarding the Bluesy, i look forward to any additional updates you provide over the years, as I’m sure you’re relationship with the watch will evolve over time.
I have to disagree regarding the size of the actual Sub. Actual 41mm (40.5) and the thinner lugs make the watch sit like a dream on my slightly over 7 inch wrist. 2:38 I love my 124060❤ Bluesy is not for me...too flashy for my taste
@@SteelmoonWatches At first glance it might be a little big, but it doesn't bother me at all when you wear it, and it doesn't look disproportionate either. I say this having the Speedy with the new bracelet with its tiny clasp.
The differences are so small between 116613 and the 126613 you need both next to each other to tell. 126613 better proportions but I agree, the bracelet is massive!
I own the 41mm, agreed on the clasp, it's huge. White text or gold I'm not fussed. I do prefer its thinner lugs over the supercase though. Wears more slender on the wrist. The stocky 40mm Sub has its fans, not denying that, it's just not for me. I skipped the whole 11x generation Sub by going YM, SD43 and Sub41. The Bluesy is a looker, half jewelery half toolwatch. I wear mine at the office or working from home, at the weekend during the day or on a night out, basically whenever I'm in the mood for it, no rhyme nor reason. It's not my most worn watch but it's my prettiest. It's beautiful in an exuberant kind of way. My most worn watch is the more versatile YM pt dial, beautiful in a quiet way, calm and collected. However, being more versatile has a double edge, it can sooner become boring. The Bluesy at least is not a boring watch, but can its loudness become tiring? To avoid one pitfall or the other, I think it's good to alternate looks by just following the mood of the day or the week, whatever picks my fancy. I also appreciate handsome watches of a more sober and conservative nature, like a classic white gold VC Patrimony, a dress watch on a leather strap. All types have their place in my watchbox. I haven't worn the Bluesy in 3 weeks. I feel like putting it on my wrist tomorrow, going to the office in my blue bimmer, a 2007 330i coupe, a good match for my Sub. I normally drive a hot hatchback instead with almost 300k km on the clock, model SEAT Leon Cupra R in black. I love my old bangers.
Well said mate. I think you need to be in the mood for it, which really is not everyday. Love that the Cupra is going into 300k territory and going well. Must be a Manual
Haha Nothing against neck tattoos - my best friend has one 😂 but bum bags on the chest - no words pal lol. Love your channel man. The set up and vibe etc.
My main watch is a Tudor GMT, I am eyeing the 126613 as my next watch and first rolex. I am 26 so I am curious based off your last video about the bluesy if you think that I am jumping ahead of myself by going TT. I just think the Bluesy is one of the most beautiful rolexes and I would really like a Pepsi but the chance of getting that at retail are slim to none.
I hear your points on the yellow writing and the size but the blue dual is different. It's called Royal Blue and it's stunning. As for the size comment it's only 0.3 mm larger (went from 40.2 to 40.5), So people are making a bigger deal of it than it really is. The white writing did bother me a little bit at first, I have to admit, but I haven't thought about it much since.
You sold the best watch you had in your collection. The GP Laureato. Only goes down from there. Second best Hulk, than the Seadweller. If a Gold than a Real one like the patek 5905. Doesn't get worse than a two tone. Not fish not meat as way say in Germany.
Two tone comes in and out of fashion and has since the late 80's. (since I've been an adult). It is definitely an older man's watch and is not as versatile as a stainless steel watch.
02:01 I start talking about the Bluesy
14:20 I meant to say if you’re going two tone (not bluesy)
I think most people mean two-tone when they say bluesy
great content for pure watch aficionados

Wearing a gold watch while being a debt slave seems a bit silly to me.
Going to the AD today to discuss a Bluesy (or DD40 white gold/green dial)

Glad someone pointed this out..the 41 (40.5 technically) wears slightly smaller than the 40 because of the lug/bracelet proportions

BTW , this watch is criminally underrated.
That blue is really something hypnotizing.
Thanks for the heads up mate. My head is fried from reference numbers recently 😅
Great update video. Do you still have & west the Bluesy?
Bluesy gone mate
What happened mate? Did you get tired of it?@@SteelmoonWatches
What was the reason for letting Bluesy go?
Nice update on the Bluesy Michael. Long time fan of your channel. I hope to be a neck tattooed, Rolex day date olive dial wearing fellow soon 😆
Btw my pick would be pre ceramic Bluesy, love how the dials go purple.

Great vid Michael, some funny stuff talking about that piker wearing the president
I have a 6.5 inch wrist and I wear the new 41mm Sub.
Why?
Because I’m a stud.
I had the ceramic sub 40 in 3 different models. Sub41 is better lmho , understandable about the clasp but overall sub41 better looking
