I remembered hearing that Vince Gillian of Breaking Bad credited Scarface & The Godfather to being some of the creative influences to the show. After pointing out the color scheme & lighting techniques this movie made, it totally makes sense now! Thanks Earthling Cinema!!
One of my favorite channels on UA-cam, keep up the great work guys. And please make a video about Eyes Wide Shut by Kubrick, one of my favorite movies ever.
"The film is permeated with a feeling of nostalgia, an affliction suffered by human brains in an attempt to cover the futility of human existence" That is comedy gold. Thank you.
Michael Franklin "Two humans alter their brain chemistry for a weekend. Normally this would be enjoyable for most humans, but these are professionals, ensuring that they experience inexplicable horrors and undergo the most challenging of encounters with their primitive perception of the world using their paltry five senses. Hilarity ensues as they repeatedly nearly puncture or electrocute their frail human blood-filled bodies, have sex with an under aged human female, and continue to inadvisably alter their primitive meat-brains."
Hadn't noticed the "orange" symbolism, but now i remember. Johny Olla came to Michael's house in the beginning of Godfather part 2 and brought an orange from Miami and then Michael was almost assassinated. So cool
I wasn't just yelling Brazil, I was singing it.On a more serious note though both Brazil and Blade Runner would be interesting since they both have multiple versions that change them both quite a bit. Like the unicorn thing in Blade Runner and the multiple endings of Brazil.
Triple A If I remember correctly, the film did have some pretty good political subtext. Such examples as mocking America and foreign policies. Vulgar, but honest.
I believe the oranges are a reverence to one of the Sherlock Holmes novels were someone receives orange pits from his American enemies and is killed shortly after
Also to note that Michael's family is always with cloathes in dark colours while Kay is the quite opposite. And the big easter egg in Luca Brasi's death, in the glasses of the bar have fishes.
***** I disagree. The novel is one of my favorite books. It has the line " One good lawyer with a briefcase can steal more than 100 men with guns." Plus the novel goes into the backstory of Vito. To each's own I suppose.
Dimitri Bitu Sometimes it's better to hit the high comedic points and get off the stage. I'd rather have 5 hilarious minutes than 10 pretty funny ones. But yes, this is comedic gold and it's only natural to want more.
This particular series is absolutely hilarious and I only recently discovered this channel and enjoyed the thug series many of the videos are insightful but are comedic at the same time and seem to have taken long periods of time to make clearly by the quality and the writing of these videos and I very much enjoy them thank you very much for providing interesting content that satisfies a large audience.
Hey, Wisecrack, have you considered doing a segment on music? I think we kinda take it for granted these days, but I'm sure there's some really interesting pieces, even in modern pop culture.
I'd love to see Jurassic Park because I'm kind of a dinosaur fanatic. Oh well. Also, I'm REALLY looking forward to the new show. Keep being awesome and coming up with cool ideas, Wisecrack crew!
Holy shit I love this series! It always blows my mind and makes me look at movies and their metaphors in a completely different light! Keep it the fuck up!!!
Hey guys, you're one of my favourite channels on UA-cam and I'm simply asking could you guys possibly do a Hidden Meaning video on both "Once Upon a Time in America" and "Raging Bull". Those films haven't received the amount of attention that they deserve on UA-cam and I think you guys could do a great analysis of the symbolism and metaphors in these two classic movies. Cheers, bye!
God your videos are soooo entertaining! It's just you have great theories and stuff and you always sprinkle some humor in there especially with this video when you talk about nostalgia and how the Baptism thing is consequence , I don't really remember when I laughed that hard lol
According to the film makers, oranges were just used to make some of the sets appear less drab, and the association between them and death is something they never intended. This makes sense because there is no obvious connection between oranges and death.
I've been hoping, at some point, Wisecrack would find a way to mash their shows together. I'd love to see you guys take a piece of literature that was also a great movie and somehow mash Thug Notes and Earthling Cinema together for maybe just one great kickass episode. Just as an example, if you took Gone With The Wind, have Sparky give his piece on the novel, Garyx does the movie, and in some way have them interact. Of course, one is from the 21st century and the other is from thousands of years in the future, but I'm sure the writers at Wisecrack could find a creative way to make it work.
After all these years the orange is still under debate. I don't know why, it's so simple: It's a reference to tarot. Orange is the Colour of death in tarot. Vito nearly died on the Orange stall, did die with an orange in his mouth, Sonny was killed next to the orange company sign. Even in The Sopranos- the ginger cat visits when the empire is about to collapse and a most are about to be killed. Then Tony gets killed sitting in front of the tiger head painting. Scurvy? They've been laughing at everyone for years about that.
Wisecrack More Wisecrack... that sounds horrible... Wouldn't want more of my favorite channel. Teasing aside, I understand what you mean; don't want to over-saturate people with too much.
The only part i laughed at was "sonny got killed at a toll booth for not having exact change"
I laughed so hard when he said "The Mobbly Wobbly"
Bobby Manna that's exactly it! This guy isn't funny. Steak family, toilet, gun really!
Shoulda had ez pass

"Michael's Italian wife is killed by his Italian car." I died laughing, thanks.
On Earth, we typically peel our oranges before eating them.
Ethan Glover But all the zest goes to waste that way.
+Palace Of Wisdom not necesarly, you can still eat it afterwards.
@@brunocar02 there is no S in afterward. it is neither plural nor possessive.

One of my favorite channels on UA-cam, keep up the great work guys. And please make a video about Eyes Wide Shut by Kubrick, one of my favorite movies ever.

+Melanie Da Melon
Scary movie 3, the officer's hat scene. :D
+Angelina Mercury omg YAS XD forgot all about that scene ! 😂😂
3:15 His description of nostalgia is so very depressing and so very true. Fuck.
"The film is permeated with a feeling of nostalgia, an affliction suffered by human brains in an attempt to cover the futility of human existence" That is comedy gold. Thank you.
I love Earthling Cinema! Garyx Wormuloid needs to host an episode bi-weekly!
Oranges are the symbol of the medici and the medici was the original mob, so maybe the oranges in the move have to do with that.
The Medici family was not the original mob and their symbol has nothing to do with oranges.
Apparently he oranges were put there by the cinematographer to add a little color to the scenes.
Maybe take a look at fear and loathing?
Fear and loathing would be awesome. The movie is filled with depth like the American Dream and hypocrisy.
My only wish is that these videos were longer.
Hadn't noticed the "orange" symbolism, but now i remember. Johny Olla came to Michael's house in the beginning of Godfather part 2 and brought an orange from Miami and then Michael was almost assassinated. So cool
I just found this UA-cam channel about two hours ago and I cannot stop watching the videos on it safe to say this is my new favorite channel. Subbed.
I've only just discovered this, so much fun, but there are actually a few valid points in these clips.
+nictheartist Yeess like the door thing. Its absolutely spot on, wow.
+PoloBoyMal Also, Personalised Horse Head - ideas for the next Valentine's Day?
nictheartist Sorry, how do you mean?? :)
It's should be noted that Janus was the Roman god of portals and doorways. Another feature of the god?
He was two-faced.
This is no doubt the funniest and best episode yet.
Oh my god i do have to change my car´s oil. Thanks for reminding me obi wan.
+Pablo123456x You posted this 3 months ago. Hope you are still alive..
Eugene Li :) Thankfully I am. I changed the oil short after that video.
That's one of my favorite lines in a video, "Sicily, the safest place on Earth". Pure gold.
Can you do Hidden Meaning of Goodfellas, the other mob movie?
yes please.
Why haven't you done Blade Runner yet?!? Do Blade Runner!!!
***** Or Brazil!!!
Damian Reloaded Braaaziiilll!
Damian Reloaded But first, BLADE RUNNER!!!!
I wasn't just yelling Brazil, I was singing it.On a more serious note though both Brazil and Blade Runner would be interesting since they both have multiple versions that change them both quite a bit. Like the unicorn thing in Blade Runner and the multiple endings of Brazil.
Do Team America!
Philly Cheese hell yeah

Triple A
If I remember correctly, the film did have some pretty good political subtext.
Such examples as mocking America and foreign policies. Vulgar, but honest.
Wisecrack please make this
Simply amazing commentary with a great sense of humor. I love this!
I believe the oranges are a reverence to one of the Sherlock Holmes novels were someone receives orange pits from his American enemies and is killed shortly after
Boyz n the Hood Please
likenem Seconded. That movie is definitely worth alien analysis.
Also to note that Michael's family is always with cloathes in dark colours while Kay is the quite opposite. And the big easter egg in Luca Brasi's death, in the glasses of the bar have fishes.
This movie was surprisingly good not just a boring 3 hr period piece but watching and appreciating Goodfellas elevated this movie further.
Your channel is the best thing on UA-cam. Thank you.
It is always a good day when a new Earthling Cinema is released.
Love the nonchalant delivery of this.
You sir, have made my weekend. MORE EARTHLING CINEMA!!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!
New WiseCrack show!? Can't wait!
How about an episode of Thug Notes on the Godfather novel?
***** They did make one about Fifty Shades, so...
***** I disagree. The novel is one of my favorite books. It has the line " One good lawyer with a briefcase can steal more than 100 men with guns." Plus the novel goes into the backstory of Vito. To each's own I suppose.
***** The novel may've been "mediocre", but it was entertaining.
The book had to MUCH JOHNNEY FONTAINE!
lolololol
the best and funniest movie analysis i've seen, since the Mr. Plinkett reviews! keep up the good work!
I think an episode about Birdman would be amazing
Missed Earthling Cinema. Great video!
Another great video! Thank you for doing these. They always get me laughing! Please do Eyes Wide Shut!
I honestly don't find this funny, but thanks for highlighting The Godfather footage. It brings back some memories.
I have a feeling that this is EXACTLY how people will view the movie in 500 years. This is genius!
Wormuloid's bro could do music interpretation. He's got millions of bros I bet. One of them has a collection of "8 tracks" and "audio cassettes".
The new show premiers on my birthday! That means it's destined to be awesome!
The Truman Show or The Shining would be interesting. :)
Wyatt Stake no!!! every shinning analysis always gets way too crazy
Holy fuck these are just so good ! They just make so much sense , even if he sais them in a trolly way ! These are brilliant . Thank you !
Great video!
But it's seriously time that you guys do Blade Runner!!!!
The thing about the colors and the oranges is so cool!
Now I need to watch them all again, thanks Wisecrack.
He bit into that orange like a boss.
Learning new things with Wisecrack
Best channel ever is getting more shows. Good times.... also Bladerunner
Superb as usual. Congrats on the new show
I only wish the videos were longer
Dimitri Bitu Sometimes it's better to hit the high comedic points and get off the stage. I'd rather have 5 hilarious minutes than 10 pretty funny ones. But yes, this is comedic gold and it's only natural to want more.
Keep your friends close...but your enemies closer...
These are my favorite videos on the youtube
Great video! Only wish they were longer.

Vito was killed spraying his tomatoes
Finally! A cogent synopsis you can trust!
Ben A Don Vito was eating a tomato from his garden not a stinking orange.
+Penny Dog It was an orange.
He sits at a table in the garden and cuts the orange peel and put it in his mouth and scared his grandson.
I agree with all this talk of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
rofl... the comment about the Italian cars is so true! Those cars really do need some TLC.
Maxonestia got me. Well done wisecrack
This is really great. Please do American Beauty or The Ring. Oh, the possibilities!
I never noticed that about oranges but I remember the final scene of part three and orange falls from his hand as he dies so wow that was pretty deep
As always, awesome!
“Is it, is it true?”
“No.”
ICE COLD
God, I love these :D best videos/channel on UA-cam!
awesome work guys keep it up
in the wedding scene, we also see Tessio reach for an orange, literally crossing Mrs Corleone.
Hey, Wisecrack, have you considered doing a segment on music? I think we kinda take it for granted these days, but I'm sure there's some really interesting pieces, even in modern pop culture.
Gratuitous mastication. I thought Earthling Cinema was above that.
Do a hidden meaning in Apocalypse Now pls
I love your clip mate. Super interesting! I never noticed any of what you mentioned.
It's my favourite movie of all time.
I'd love to see Jurassic Park because I'm kind of a dinosaur fanatic. Oh well.
Also, I'm REALLY looking forward to the new show. Keep being awesome and coming up with cool ideas, Wisecrack crew!

You MUST probe the Vanilla Sky!
an inside joke about scurvy!!!! this is the best!
wow, i had no idea of the intense symbolism in the film
I still wish you would cover The Graduate.
According to the film makers, oranges were just used to make some of the sets appear less drab, and the association between them and death is something they never intended. This makes sense because there is no obvious connection between oranges and death.

What about superhero psychology? Or whatever that was called?
Howdy. Pop Psych is on hiatus to make way for Boss Bitches of History. Don't want to make the channel crowded with too many shows at one time...
Wisecrack More Wisecrack... that sounds horrible... Wouldn't want more of my favorite channel. Teasing aside, I understand what you mean; don't want to over-saturate people with too much.
Wisecrack Too many cooks will ruin a stew. Just so you know I'd watch one of these every day twice a day if you made em :)
Wisecrack You couldn't possibly put out more content than I would watch.
Wisecrack Can we get an ETA on the return of that show? I loved it.
4:20 LMAO I had to look that one up but nice one Wormuloid!
Your eyebrows are fabulous!
Nice guys!
