You are doing a really nice job on these videos, your frustration with Festool is nice too see! I do love Festool but you are right to point out the holes in their system.. keep up the good work
I took the track saw plunge at the beginning of this year. I’m setting up a garage shop now in my spare time and intend to build an MFT table. Unfortunately for me I did not know about Dash-board when I started looking into guide systems and went all in on the TSO system. Although I love how accurate it is, I’ve found that it takes too much time time to set up. I’ve since purchased some of Rob’s products because I can see how much easier set up is going to be. When I saw this latest addition to his line I immediately ordered it this morning. My TSO system will still be useful when I’m mobile but for the shop the Dash-board system looks to be the way to go. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Mr. Michael, great 👍 video. I gave up on my MFT 1080 a long time ago . I made my own "mft" using the Dave Stanton ( Australian woodworker) concept. I adapted the track stars and Incra fence similar to your set up.
Great video. I wonder with the new trackstars being aluminum if that, coupled with being attached to the extruded aluminum sides that you'll be square every time. Each time I see someone use the dogs as their reference I just wonder about accuracy. Dogs wear out and/or are not extruded and the CNC process could vary slightly. Without a rip fence to square against the saw blade/guide it's just two "parallel" surfaces but they're not guaranteed to be 90 degrees apart from one another. Subscribed!
Another great video, sir! Watched a lot of your videos but didn't spot what you came up with as a sub-fence to cut narrower or shorter stock with the Incra Flip fence? You mentioned a birch piece? May I ask what was your solution?
I took your advise and purchased the Dashboard setup for my MFT, and the Incra Fence. I'm almost done setting it up. Did you make the sub-fence yet? I'd like to make one as well, and was wondering if you made one yet, and if you made a video? Thanks!
I’m an artist….. I want to do my own stretched canvas frames and my final frames with my art in. I appreciate your honesty. I am from Quebec , Canada. Thank you for your honest opinion….
Michael - Love your channel - I am in touch with Dashboard to get stuff sent to NZ. Did you ever replace the Kreg table for your MFT? Agree with the need to both increase stability, and also create space underneath. Kreg seemed a good option? I have two MFTs end for end - so thinking about a solution for that. All the best, Murray
You have spent a lot of money to make the MFT tabletop useful to you. I see that you have even put it on what looks like a Kreg table. When are you going to ditch it and just go ahead and get the Dashboard work bench? I love the looks and the functionality of their "Basic Bench". I just don't like the price for what I do. Good job on the video.
Very good Video.... I own an Incra Fence along with two of the DB mounting brackets and two DB Trackstars as shown in your video. How does the bracket affix to the trackstar, as the bracket only has a single hole in its base to affix to the Trackstar. There has to be a 20mm dog that inserts into the middle hole of the trackstar and the dog has a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the top where the plastic knob with a threaded bolt is inserted. I believe DB has updated these former brackets and call them a AB1 There is nothing on their site that explains where to purchase a 20mm dog with a threaded center hole.... Can you please direct me to a supplier that offers such a threaded hole dog..... RJS
The brackets come with the hardware to attach it to the trackstars. The current version of the brackets has a segmented bushing that goes into the 20mm dog hole and expands when to tighten it.
The fence comes with two sets of measuring tapes, one on the top(main) and the other on the extension that you read when extending. On the MFT, I elect to measure from the cut line on the table to place my stops.
In short, you can square the fence to the dog holes. In fact, you can use the dog holes to reference the guide rail then adjusted fence perpendicular to it. Thanks for watching!
In a previous video you registered the FS1400 and the Incra fence using the 20mm holes in the MFT top. This setup appears to register the Incra fence to the MFT frame and the FS1400 to the 20mm holes in the MFT top. How does this affect setting up square cuts and repeatability?
Calibrating the guide rail as I showed in the previous video and pushing the incra fence toward the back will get you in the ballpark. After doing this, I perform a test cut and check for square on the workpiece then I make incremental adjustments on the rail side of things to adjust it into square. I use feeler gauges to make the adjustment between the guide rail alignment arrows and note the size and the position (side closes to me or the fence). If this is not clear, let me know, so I can make a video.
Thanks for the review. Your dashboard recommendations have really helped with accuracy on my table
You’re very welcome!

Great minds think alike! Thanks for watching!
Cool. Just what I was looking for to keep more real estate on the MW1000. Thanks, I’ve missed your chill, relaxing reviews
Thank you Sir!
Fine piece of kit there !
Thanks for watching!
Great setup - appreciate the info on Dashboard products!
You’re welcome Eric! Thanks for watching!

I have a set on order! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
I’m interested in the telescoping fence. Can you provide a link or information on where you got it? Love the video! Thanks!

Never mind, I see in comments below someone asked this same question. 😉
Thanks for watching!

I haven’t gotten around to it.

I have mines on a Kreg table for now, but I have plans of integrating the hardware for my Mft into my table saw out feed table. Thanks for watching!

If someone was starting out fresh, I would definitely point them toward the dashboard work bench from the beginning. It's just a better product.
One word! Space! Thanks Jeff!

michael, do you know if this will work the bench dogs fence?? great stuff!!! love the videos
Let me get back to you on that. Thanks for watching!
Don't think so!
How do you reliably set the ruler on the fence given that it slides? I’m sure you solved this problem!
The fence comes with two sets of measuring tapes, one on the top(main) and the other on the extension that you read when extending. On the MFT, I elect to measure from the cut line on the table to place my stops.
Michael, did you make a video in your MFT/Rockler base ?
Patrick, I haven’t. The Kreg base is a temporary solution. Thanks for watching!
Arr you able to square the fence to the dog holes?

@@concentrichomesolutions Thank you for the detailed reply! I think the Dashboard upgrades to my MFT/3 will be game changing.
It was for me!
