Michael. Excellent job at explaining things in simple terms. This is the best HVLP video I have ever seen. Buyers have many choices when it comes to HVLP systems. Some work and some are a waste of money. The main thing people need to consider before purchasing a machine is what paint chemicals they want to spray and what surfaces they want to paint. Your water based coating thoughts are spot on when it comes to safety for ones health and fire hazards. Again, great info for your viewers. Thanks.

Michael, grand job with your new bench. I turned an old MFT800 into a 24x48-inch MFT style bench, and have the same Dashboard guide rail hinge and TrackStar/Spiral dog setup for cross-cutting. Two Track Stars set on the king ends, allow easy rips on 48-inch stock. I like how you setup your new MFT style bench to work as an outfeed table for your table saw, or it looks like this is what you have done . Cheers

You obviously didn’t watch the guide on how to square it. You were doing it completely wrong! No wonder you’re not happy with it. But I have one and it’s awesome. You need to watch the guide before you bash it. Your issues are not Festools fault

Thanks for this video. Actually I'm seriously thinking of getting an FS30 like you have reviewed in other videos, and installing castors on it, as for me moving it is a must as I will need to move it off to the side every time I'm done using it since I am a hobbyist in a garage and still park in the garage when not working. Having the ability to move it in all directions would be great for me. Then I saw your video and you said that the nut for one of the castors came loose which was disappointing. Actually I have read in older forums where people were happy with their castors so trying to get an idea of the risks of me going that route. I was just curious, when you put in the castors, did you just hand tighten them to the bottom of the legs, or did you use a wrench to snug them up to the legs? Also I was curious if you move the FS30 fairly often like I would have to do, or if you only moved it a few times before it broke. Also thanks for the review video as it is helping me decide on the FS30.

I move it every time I use it. The mounting point is a nut that is tack welded on two sides that broke; this was not a good solution in my opinion! Thanks for watching.

You know I get what you’re saying but really Festool sells the MFT basic for only $100 less than the full setup. So, they actually value all the stuff you are complaining about at $100, the stuff you’re saying is the better solution, are $350 and $250 respectively. So, it could be, you get what you pay for?

    • @concentrichomesolutions

Great video, thank you. I have moved into a new workshop and don’t have the space for my panel saw. So looking at a track saw… Are you using regular T Track with 5/16 inch t bolts and nuts in the sides of your bench to attach your dashboard guide rail bracket set onto? I didn’t want to have a top with bench dog holes everywhere for things to fall through. I really like your set up. Thank you for sharing it 😊

For the example you've shown here, you don't need a fence. Just two bench dogs of pretty much any kind will do fine. I can see it coming in handy for multiple, repeatable cuts, but even then, you can set up a stop without needing a fence. It looks nice and shiny though!

Don't feel bad, we all have bought some Festool junk. I hated my MFT/3 table for Three Years (never two 90 degree cuts in a row.) The Holes in the MFT/3 top were not at 90 degrees to the table top and the whole top was not square to one corner of the table, both long rails were not exactly the same length either. Then to top it off all the corner bolts holding it all together were only semi tight. I bought a UJK Velcromat MFT top and super dogs, rebuilt the frame making sure the hinge corner was at 90 degrees and magically 90 degree cuts consistently using the UJK Super Dogs and rail clips. Rob's Dash-Board assembly Videos led the way to sanity. CNC cut means nothing without a good tool set-up tech at the factory. Almost ready to sell the MFT/3 once I pony up for a DashBoard.
