This Yankee team won't win. Simply not good enough. They've proven over recent years that they can make the playoffs and then get embarrassed. They might not even make the post season this year. Hal needs to make some big changes, but I don't think he will.
Cashman should have been fired over a decade ago, enough already. This ain't the late 1990s Yankees anymore. Move on from him already. Boone should be booted ASAP.
As a kid growing up in the 1970's, the All-Star game was a rare opportunity to actually SEE the great players doing their thing. These days we can see replays of every home run hit that day. The thrill of the All-Star game is gone.
2022 they had a 61-23 resr of season 38-40 2023 they had 36-25 rest of season 46- 55 2024 they had 49-22 rest of season. As of July 11th 7- 17 so far. 3 yrs. in a row. Excuses have to stop.
There is a lack of hitting throughout baseball with pitchers throwing in the upper 90s and some over 100MPH. In 1968 they lowered the mound because offenses were lousy maybe next year they need to move the pitching mound back 3 feet.
You can grab 500 people in a Yankee stadium crowd and if you put them in charge of the team they would either equal or surpass Cashman's results over the last twenty years.
April/May was a complete Mirage. Playing Sisters Of The Poor teams only showed us Bullies in action. As soon as the Yankees faced REAL competition and the Bully got Punched in the Face. The team went crying to mommy Boone. And just maybe it is NOT a smart idea to spend over a Billion dollars on just four player contracts. Two being once every five days players at that (Cole & Rodon). The other two like to be on the I.L. list (Stanton & Judge).
Great point I’d even say the Soto long term contract would be more of the same. We need to have more very good and athletic players and less exorbitant superstars who inevitably get old and are way overpaid
Coming from someone who watched every Verdugo plate appearance and I know I posted this on a video at the seasons start, Verdugo will hit like crazy for you during April & May and do absolutely nothing the final four months. Verdugo might have another good week in August. This is player he is. I was so happy to get him off the team. Now he's someone else's problem
What happens if the Yankees get swept over the weekend and fall further behind in the AL East? They have way too many holes to fill. And at the rate they are going losing 67% of every series, they will not even be in the playoff conversation.
Mets knew they weren’t signing Alonso and didn’t extend Alverez last year cuz they want to do it to make the fan base happy some what after letting Pete go. Alverez will get extended right after Pete leaves. Bet

Judge has been carrying them but it was just a matter of time before he hit some kind of a slump. It happens to the best of them. Now the Yanks are really going to scuffle for wins.
Ive been telling people for 20 plus years. ( besides 09). Dont be fooled by the Yankees they haven’t won anything in 20 plus years ( besides 09) They hit a ton of homeruns in regular season. Then stop hitting and choke in the playoffs. It will be the same movie this year ✅
Yeah but who knows how well he'll pitch this season. Guy is soft and gets injured way too easily. If he got a splinter using chopsticks he would be out for the rest of the season.
Yanks have no clutch hitters. Zero. They are also slow on the bases. Volpe is not as advertised. He is a ok fielder but can't hit. Average field, no hit shortstop. Verdugo is batting 40 points below his career average. What happened?
Mike all the professional players don’t even care. The money has changed everything. This is not a blue collar game anymore. This has become a ship of fools who buy or spend their money on this plus the NBA

If you're a Yankee fan waiting for Verdugo of April or May to come save the day, you're in for a rude awakening. He's a 104 career OPS+ guy. Basically Brett Gardner, not a clean up hitter on a World Series contender. Their lineup isn't fixable by the trade deadline. Too many holes. They don't have 1 productive infielder. There's not to many players out there that are going to give you 40 + Homeruns and 120 RBis unless the Mets think there for sure on getting Juan Soto. It would be nice to have Alonso and Soto

Don’t touch it! They will go nowhere in the post season! Just ride it out and look forward to welcoming up pitching in 2 years.
