The person in charge of creating that game should be arrested for psychologically torturing children.
The guy mostly responsible for this game is Bill Williams, he made some really cool stuff in the 8 bit computer era. He referred to this game as "Bill's Nightmare" I guess there was a ton of endless interference from outside sources, and it's development led to him leaving the video game industry.

This was so entertaining to watch. Something about watching an unbeatable game get beaten is so satisfying.
I understand now why ding dong is so good at Video Games that have basic mechanics. Because he's played games in his childhood that have a ludicrous amount of mechanics in it that don't explain there mechanics to begin with unless you've watched the iconic cartoon of said game.
Such intuitive gameplay. Even a non simpsons fan could pick this up and have a good time!

This reminds me of a little fact: The reason a lot of licensed games were hard as hell were because they didn't want people to rent it once, beat it, and then never rent it again.

That's true of literally every game ever
I remember hearing that as the reason why Contra Hard Corps took out the life bar in the US version. In the Japanese version you had 3 HP, but in the US version you always died in one hit which made the game brutally difficult.
Because you learned that fact, and the human brain has the amazing ability to retain information once learned.
We now know that games don't work that way but tend to make the opposite mistake, make them too easy.
I spent my childhood failing school trying to get Bart that A+. We both failed... but he actually got some sleep. So i think he came off better than me.

Thanks for making this channel Ding Dong, I always wanted to watch your stream but I never caught it in time. I only ever saw your one Mario 64 stream and also I caught the game awards one you did right as they were announcing best game. So I'm glad that I can watch them whenever I want now!

I remember as a kid , getting so frustrated trying to beat this game. Thanks Ding dong for playing this, I had all but forgotten this game until I stumbled upon your play through.
Speaking of furnaces being bosses in kids games, when I was a wee lad I had a horrible nightmare about a furnace. There were two doors in my room, one lead to the hallways and the other led to our (electric) boiler, that was normally very quiet. One night I was getting up out of bed for a piss and I opened what I thought was the door to the hallway, only to find it was the boiler cupboard. I just assumed it was a sleepy mistake, and went to try the other door. It was the boiler cupboard again. I was confused, but went to try the first door again and when I opened it there was a big, black coal-powered furnace, spewing flames and smoke into my room. I woke up screaming in my bed and couldn't get back to sleep for school the next day.
I had to fight the boss furnace in my dream.
I had the Bart's Nightmare nightmare.
I am the Bart.

This is the source of it all... this game is the reason Ding Dong sounds so tired and dead inside. It drained him of all hope and wonder and he has remained a husk ever since.
Reading the Simpson trivia in his nonchalant way makes it that much better.

I don’t usually comment but thank you for this let’s play. While I was vomiting my brains out I was very soothed by this games soundtrack. This music is not at all hellish and will not haunt my own nightmares and remind me of this horrible sickness I have. :)

Most of the times when someone asks me what the controls are, I need to pick up the controller or I'm not going to remember most of the controls.

Virtual Bart and Bart Vs The Space Mutants are the ones I had and remember the most. The Bart Pig and Baby Bart are locked into my mind forever.
I never thought I would enjoy this so much, "we kill that old woman, that's her brain." Acclaim sometimes did good things and sometimes complete trash, they were never very consistent.
I had this game as a kid and hated it. The Godzilla and Indiana Jones levels basically have you dead before you even have any concept of how to play them. The underwater level is the only one I could occasionally beat. Luckily I think it was a flea market pickup so I doubt we paid much for it.

Getting flashbacks to when I found this on a "full library" SNES ROMpack my brother had spent an entire week downloading, back in 2003.
I had never felt so frustrated with a game, and even after years of trying it out again - I never figured out what the fuck I was doing wrong, or what I even had to do.
I never beat this game, so it's a treat to see the content I never saw

Donut if I wasn’t how I was it would of done the same. I almost never forget things and constantly search up things from my past so things never really become nostalgic. Last time I had a nostalgia blast was being super high and watching Hannah Montana with my little sisters and I literally was placed in the brain and mindset of when I first watched this episode and honestly it was like wtf why is that still in my memory bank.
This era of games is like the devs were nerds who figured they could complete their own stages (that they built themselves) so clearly the average user can.
