Hey Tom, just a quick tip that helped me when I used to do this to my hockey sticks back in the day. When you go to spin the tape into those ropes, don't tear the strand of tape off the roll. Use the roll to spin the tape and you get a very tight and neat rope.
Just twirl in on the role its so much easier trust me ive done that for hockey for years. Twirl it then once you get that pust on as much as u want just continue with normal tape without ever ripping it
What rules do they go by in VA? I've never seen a rule about tape jobs like this in the NHFS rulebook. There is a rule about covering the opening at the bottom of a shaft with a butt-end manufactured for lacrosse (can't use tape), but that's about it.
Sacha Moravy-Penchansky It's honestly not bad. I personally love this grip, although I do mine a bit differently than this: I set the rolled up tape at an angle going one way, then go back down the other direction, making an "X" shaped pattern. It's my favourite grip for poles.

I play hockey and my stick taped same way totally agree .
your videos are like the most helpful ones on youtube.
i love your vids so much tom, something about you makes your vids so interesting...
I love this tape job! I do mine slightly different though: I criss cross the rolled tape. Gives it a very unique feel.
that would probably work. The thing that's nice about rolled up tape (sticky side out) is that it sticks to the shaft.
Hey I took your advice with this tape job and it really helps thanks!!
I was the one who asked you thanks for making the video

I just did it thanks so much for the tut your awesome. !
You would be the coolest dad ever!!!
Helped me out a lot, thanks!!
Could you do this on the bottom of a short stick for extra grip when shooting?
Great job keep making videos!
@Spinner2498MC Cool! Did you like Aspire? Where do you play?
Oh my god, I did the latest Walnut Creek Aspire Lacrosse Camp with your Sons!! Freaky Man!!
It adds a little weight, but it's not that much tape, and tape is not very heavy.
thank you for this now i use that on all my goalie stick
What tape do you use?
would it be possible just to use some extra sidewall for the tape job?
what shaft should i get i am a midi and i have a proton super power
why wouldn't you want to do it on a attach stick
I have a feeling that would make the shaft a lot more heavier.
love those gloves

would you ever dye something like a paul rabil head?
What gloves are those RedStarLacrosse
Just start with a little scissor snip at the end at how wide you want it...then it tears easily along that line.
What kind of shaft is that warrior d-pole? And how much is it? Please respond!
When I was in modified are coach taped r hands to the bottom of the stick for defence
Is it 6ft
How did people not know how to do that?
Awesome tutorial thank you !!!!
on the short stick in the video, how did you rip the tape so that it could be that small in width?
what are those gloves
U can also use a string instead of tape rolled up
wait wat if ur goalie is bad is he still a "beast"
Thanks!
You can also do this with shoestrings
Also you can use a shoelace
cool tape job, good for young kids
It helps to to tape from the top to the bottom so the tape doesn't rip up to the top
what kind of stick is that?
What is your team colors
Thanks
On top of short stick for when you are cradling vertical
awesome
I feel like cradling with this tape job would be a nightmare

Big Tom Ledin!
Why not do that type of taping on a short sick
With short sticks your constantly moving your hands between throwing and catching, it's not be cussed for offense, but mostly personal preference
Why not on a short stick
I used this tape on mine it works perfect and helps a lot in my opinion
And it's less complicated
I don't know, but there was a point in my life when I didn't know how to do it. I wasn't born with that knowledge.
i just wanted to point that out.
