"I"m sure I'm wrecking some o-rings up above..." LOL!!!!!!!! This guy is hilarious!! I have one of these quads and the starter is definitely buried in the tightest little spot possible to where you almost have to take the entire quad apart to get to it. Glad to see you managed it without doing all that.

With the starter spinning and the engine not turning over it sounds like an issue with the one way starter clutch. It is part of the flywheel.
It allows the engine to turn over when the starter is engages to it.

    Which starter did you buy?

The OEM original starter is hundreds of dollars, so on this machine I just bought a cheap china starter. It really is a gamble doing that as they are not always reliable and sometimes do not last very long. But I have been using the machine for 9 months now and it starts really good now

It has been over a year later and having issues with the China Starter. China really does make junk that does not last. As the Germans say: Those who buy cheap, buy twice

@@imamythyouknowyt6860 Having the same problem my plan is .....Take of the earth strap (Black with a white trace line, grounded to the engine) take that strap and hold it against the starter (should reach ok) spin it over if it spins over fast I have a bad earth. If it spins slow there is probably bad wiring and something is earthing or shorting possibly even a starter relay.
Ill test for voltage at the relay red large wire (power in) should have 12v constant with ignition on (key) then test the red and white large wire (power out) while hitting the starter button should be 12v or very close. If not the relay may be bad. If that's good i will disconnect the brake safety switch and cross the plug with something to eliminate it (Loom side), check to see if i am getting 12v to the starter if yes its the brake switch if no repeat the process on the switch gear. I'll try this tomorrow and see if it solves it. If you already have it solved and i've missed anything let me know

Yes I did that for a while until the starter got so bad that on a full charge it still was hard starting
