Yeah...my brain was having a rough day when we filmed this (I had quite a bit on my mind, but we wanted to get this filmed). So massive apologies for calling Sunstone, "Sunspot" and any and all other misspoken items in this episode. Never forget this is a show filmed off the cuff and without a script! I'm still happy with the episode and I hope you enjoy it!!

Don't worry about it at all. Everyone makes mistakes, especially live. What's much more notable is the precision with which you pronounced Sejic's name. Names are important and I always appreciate it when people make the effort to pronounce them as best they can.

@@DSRJoker it's fine, nowhere near my personal favorite one. someone at some point referred to it as sandstone and i laughed for ten minutes as i discussed all the jokes i could have made in the book about that
Yeah, I wasn't on my A game the day we filmed, (anxiety is a hell of a thing)...but it's no excuse to get the name of a creators work wrong! That said, it was no lie that I remember it being on deviant art back in the day!

I know how is Tiffany not getting modelling gigs personally I think Marvel should be knocking down her door to be one of those "characters" they send places for personal appearances you know like when Spider-Man shows up at children's hospital well IMO her Mary Jane cosplay would frigging INSANE. If Sal married any further up he'd need a BEANSTALK to get back down to Earth the best part is Sal knows exactly how lucky his is that Tiffany is in his life.

This book is the closest people would get to an officially labeled Batman-rotica, next to the Bat-Nips in “Batman and Robin”
What a weird time that was for nipples, oddly irrelevant theme songs for movies, and great cartoons.

Paul Dini: So I made this character in order for the Joker to have a sidekick after seeing Arleen Sorkin in a Jester costume. I'm sure people will enjoy her as just another character in the countless Batman villains. I'm sure nothing big will happen with her.

Its nuts that this book created by an author who draws actual erotica feels more reserved than some main line batman titles. Helana's new suit comes to mind.
yeah I don't usually mind the cheesecake stuff in comics but even I was like wtf at a lot of Mann's art in there
@@aurahoneydew9607 A lot of the big manga I see tend to rely on more sexualization as either a pure selling point or as a side thing for authors to just draw something they find hot. I think this books came from DC putting some blocks on how sexy it could be mixed with the understanding that Harley is being manipulated into an abusive relationship.

Stjepan Šejić's art is always worthy of an extended digression. His work on Aquaman was stellar.
I forget was he also the writer? Turning Arthur into Atlantis' Batman was brilliant and could have been a bold new direction for Aquaman.
@@wdcain1 If memory serves that period of Aquaman was written by Dan Abnett. I think he was writing Aquaman when Rebirth started and until Kelly Sue Deconnick took over around when the Metal times began.
Also Dan Abnett was interviewed by Sal at least once, I think they might have talked about it and what was going on at DC.

Hey ComicPop crew, sorry to throw out a bit of a heavy story here, but I really just felt like I had to do a bit of sharing.
Your channel has always been one of my absolute favorites, to the point that it was actually the first channel I really felt deserved clicking that "Subscribe" button and actually making an account to even engage a bit.
Almost exactly a month ago was my 33rd birthday, and as bad as things in general have been for just about everyone lately, overall I have a decent job and had been taking (honestly, quite a lot of) much needed time on my own after an incredibly damaging relationship, and most luckily of all I'd always been in very good health (I had never been in an ambulance or been admitted to a hospital in my life, and I've always been an active person.) Even despite some incredibly hurtful (both emotionally and financially) family issues that have been going on, overall things were going all right and I was nearing content.
Then, 7 days ago, I suddenly experienced massive heart failure and a heart attack which has cut the function of my heart in half for the rest of my life (which has also been significantly shortened as well). It has been such a surreal experience, to go from a clean bill of health to this situation. I know I haven't even really started to process anything, but being able to vicariously sit on the couch with you guys has been far more of a comfort than you guys, or even I, could have realized and I am truly appreciative.
I'm about to be discharged today (I can't wait to see how freaked out my cat is going to be), so having an episode hosted by that realest of Zubes to help fill out the remaining time was a great surprise. I'm sure if anyone may have made it through this novella, it will have been Tiff, and I'd just really like to request, if at all possible, another of the books from outside the "norm" that you present so incredibly. Your telling of Wytches and Saga in particular were truly experiences which I (and I'm sure Ben as well) would love to experience again.
So let me finally wrap up all my nonsense, and just say I love the work you guys do and I truly appreciate the entertainment you guys have given us, thank you very much and never stop.
Oh, and everyone, as much as you may or may not appreciate the things and people you have around, start doing it more often, and start doing it out loud. Trust me.
When they inevitably give Harley the Joker movie treatment, I think they will use this as base to work from. A lot of people are going to end up coming to the wrong conclusion when it comes to her and Jokers' relationship finding it all romantic.

Also, side note, Sejic has the *best* interpretation of Wonder Woman I’ve ever seen.
It's incredible how he manages to portray WW as very muscular without breaking at all from the conventional idealized female form. Just perfect.
A story about how a woman who wanted to help gets manipulated by a psychopath being narrated by people having a laughing fits. I love it.
Goddamn, I love a good Tiffany episode! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Sal. I know I’m always going to be thoroughly entertained when Sal leads an episode. But there’s something about Tiffany’s storytelling that just hooks you in and NEVER lets go. I am 120% invested in this story!
It's probably that Tiffany only really comes on to host when it's a book she's REALLY passionate about/invested in, and that bleeds into how she tells the story

The fact this video is 2 hours and the book itself is like 3 issues long speaks volume about Sejic's abilities. I love him. I really wish he would write that Ivy book eventually when he feels better

I LOVE Harleen. As much as I fuly understand why it's not a priority, I really really hope Stjepan Sejic does the rest of the series some day.
The cosplay is adorable, by the by. Also, I love Tiff's time in the centre seat. She brings a completely new dynamic to the show and really bounces off the boys' reactions perfectly. I love Sal being the presenter but Tiffany's turns are a great change of pace. Especially with her choice of comics.

Honestly, one of my favorite back issues. Tiffany episodes are always a nice treat, I appreciate how detailed she gets, whether it's with the story itself or the offhand information.

An amazing book, Everything that was great in Paul Dini's origin of the character, while expanding on it to give Harley even more substance and credibility.
I also absolutely loved the Harvey Dent sub plot
With Harleen, Stjepan Sejic does a masterful job of both weaving together and exploring the relationship between Harly and the Joker, making them believable and even likable, with the narrator's hindsight to contextualize the "fridge horror" of the "romance".
I love that one image with the Harleens in glasscase/mirrors. It fascinating how the duality remains even after the "transformation".
An almost 2 hour episode of back issues? It isn’t my birthday, but I’ll take the gift!!!
I would be laughing so hard behind the camera that I'd be a distraction to those in front. No clue how Sal does it.

FINALLY!!! I lent my copy to my sister so I can’t cuddle it while I watch this but I LOVE this book!
P.s. RIP to his version of DC that Sejic left behind so he could do more solo stuff. I hope his stuff succeeds but I also want to see the other books he wanted to do, like Isley which would have been a sequel to Harleen and fleshed our his version of Pammy.

I love Sejic he is my favorite artist working today. The first time i ever saw his work was on Aquaman. I remember when the art shifted and the details on the face and the facial expressions were so detailed and striking. Instantly fell in love with his art style. im definitley going to pick this up
I reaaallly loved this episode. Always saw Harleen in comic shops but having never been a huge fan of Harley I wasn't so keen on picking it up (I also thought it might have been one of those DC YA novels). However this episode absolutely turned me around on it and I'll probably end up picking it up!
As much as I like regular Back Issues episodes, the ones where Tiffany leads are great. Love it when they give her opportunity to shine.
Bonus points for the Harley Quinn bounding. Can't wait to get into this.

I'm surprised DC didn't reestablish Poison Ivy as a victim of domestic abuse for the new52. The Floronic Man kept Ivy prisoner while changed her into his image, just like Harley. The only difference is Ivy never once thought her abuser loved her.

I must admit when I started reading Harleen I got to the point where she begins her job at Arkham and I put the book down. I thought it was just a re-hashed version of Mad Love.
Now that I’m watching Tiffany’s coverage of the book I feel revitalized to read it again and give it the attention it deserves.

I've always felt that intertwining Harvey and Harley's fall into villainy was a cool idea, maybe something like a Batman TV series could do something like that really well, so it was awesome to see someone actually did it in a comic, and honestly this may be my favorite version of Harley's origin.

Really good episode and bonus sized to boot! It almost seems like Two Face is at his most interesting in other people's stories.
Stories like this always beg the question of why police departments in comic universes allow the cops to be so unprepared. Like other than the MCU in SUPERMAN comics they are all out there like the Army just throwing tanks and helicopters at the HULK to no avail. Seems like police departments would be blowing up their budgets recruiting metahumans.
