@@Anukiae I hope you can get in the ice soon 🙏 and I feel incredibly blessed for this opportunity, don’t worry. Skating through all of this cold weather all of a sudden feels like the best thing that could have happened
Yay!! Welcome the ice figure skating world! I’m so glad you are finally posting this content. The skill crossover between inline figure roller ice figure skates is pretty similar. Pretty impressed! I just bought some pic inline skates, so I will be starting my roller skating journey this year as well.
Awesome!! We are doing a little switch in our disciplines. After recording this I tried some jumps and they feel so much better I’m very excited to start making some real progress on my axel again, and to learn non edge jumps finally
@ toe loop and lutz are my favorite on ice. Maybe I’ll be inspired to post some things soon. You are better with the camera! But for being self taught on all these skills? Kudos, really.
the shock from doing twizzles without any resistance is the most relatable thing ever lol. doing skating skills in inlines is like playing on hard mode.
@@SpinningAndJumping especially after practicing with not even in-line figure skates. I tried jumping after I filmed this and my waltz jump and salchow were instantly way better
@@JayMassa-e1i it’s super expensive if you have to go to rinks. If that was the only option I wouldn’t consider it either. I ain’t paying to skate 😤 besides all of the equipment 😅
@@c---gi8dj just watched your English speaking video. Your English is amazing brother. I heard you skateboard too 🙌 good luck with the lessons, learning some jumps will be incredibly satisfying
Glad to see you try on ice. I spent 4 hours at the ice rink today. For gliding(sliding), just keep this in mind: On wheels the more you lean the more you slide. With blades, is the opposite. The more you lean the more the blade bites the ice so you can lean to crazy levels and get a lot of speed (for example on crossovers). Sliding on blades is engaged at shallow lean angles. For a proper hockey stop, the trick is to engage the slide from the toe. not from the heel. Therefore, is a lot easier to learn by starting with a plough stop then lifting your back foot (fancy one foot slide, is quite easy actually), and finally putting both together. If you just try forcing a slide as we do on skates it won't work and you just will end turning (hard).
@@SaccoBelmonte that makes so much sense 😭 I couldn’t slide at all even though I thought hockey stops were pretty easy. All my fundamentals were flipped. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I’ll have to learn gliding eventually too 🫣
AAH! So cool, I finally got the time to watch some of your videos. Ice Skating is truly a wonderful experience, especially in natural circumstances such as that.
Omg I love this. I’ve been waiting all winter for a lake to freeze enough to skate on but it hasn’t been below zero for long enough yet. I’m craving this
I wasn’t really expecting my self to go out and get figure skates just for this, but I couldn’t pass it up knowing how lucky I am. And for skating outside in 10-20 degree weather I can’t experience all of the bad parts without the good parts. Good luck with your frozen lakes 🙏🙏
This looks so fun! When I was at the local mall they had a rink set up and I had strongly considered renting some ice skates. My usual skate place has a rink across from it as well, maybe I should get a pair... agh! lol
"the ice are really solid" 😆looks like a private ice rink to me. I'm still recovering from muscle injury after ice skating last month, I also try to have ice skating routine next month, kinda feel so late to learn figure skating with many kids on the rink, but better than never try at all. I'm trying to have a proper falling technique
I know what you mean by feeling late. It feels funny watching a tutorial by a 13 year old as a grown man 😂 make sure your routine is recorded I’d love to see it!
you need to use aggressive inlines for the weight. once you can pop up to your own chest or head height with aggressive inlines. you can only imagine the pop youd have with normal skates. do some cess slides!
I can only add one type of skating at a time 😭 you’re right though, it would add to my jumping game. My urban skating is lacking in the aggressive skill set heavily

Don't skate alone on natural ice. Skate with 'ice claws' so you can rescue yourself if you do break through. Be careful.

@@SolidSkates ah ok i just bought the powerslide trident blade for my boot. It says its been pre-sharpened but when i took them out they were aweful. No edges i could work with. I have a bad knee too so it was sore for a few weeks. Big difference when i got them sharpened though! No knee issues!
heartwarming vid man, glad you had fun and filmed it :)
