Hi I have done bachelor of zoology and MSc in microbiology but I have experience in microbiology laboratory as medical technologist about 5 years. Can you help me am I eligible for ASCP?
Yeah they are expensive, I am based in the US so when I was a student there were books for rent, and used books for sale that I was able to get a hold of, I also worked the whole time I was in college so that helped a lot, it’s hard but I had to do it because I had no other option at that time. My mom had just come here from the Philippines so she didn’t have a job and my dad had already passed from cancer by the time I made it to CLS school. If anything, just make sure to get the SUCCESS book, that’s the most helpful one if you can’t get the rest of them. Try to network as well I’m pretty sure recent graduates from these programs are just about ready to get rid of their books and hopefully you can buy it from them. I hope you figure it out as well. Good luck! ❤️
@@ReaNav I'm so sorry for your loss. Thanks for the advice, really. My parents are in Saudi Arabia and I don't know if they can find used books for sale there. I know I can't find them in Sudan. Do they sell used books on Amazon? I don't use Amazon so I don't know.
I went to check the book and was so surprised to see how expensive it is now! I bought mine in 2016 and it was only 87$ then. It must have something to do with the supply chain this pandemic.
Hi, i find difficulty to study chemical equipments or instruments such as princples of photometers...i hav no basic source to study....what can i do ?? thanks
I think you really have to rely on the lectures that you get from your classes. Not quite sure what you mean about no basic source to study, your professors should also be able to help you with that. That part of Chemistry was what I found the driest hardest part to study. Keep at it though just try to understand the basic principles those should be enough, the chances of those things being asked on the ASCP are very slim. I say concentrate more on blood bank topics.
TheReaNav I finished my classes since 2006,i have no lectures ... i meant by “ basic source to study” lectures or any paper to study from it. I study with my self no professor, so i asked u how did you study ??? I see tht “ book ,,success or other books “ give short information and its only a questions and short answer ... there is no a complete data about topics Thanks 😊
No creo que lo fuera. Pero nunca he estudiado tanto para un examen como lo hice para el ASCP. Estoy seguro de que tú también lo aprobarás, solo dalo todo. (I google translated so I can reply in Spanish)😅
We didn't really have recall questions for our program. I relied heavily on Success, and LabCE. I might post more videos to prep for the ASCP like shortcuts to memorizing things. And which ones are important to remember. Good luck on your journey! :)
LBENTON09 I realized it’s quite an expansive scope I might slowly start on just Hematology focused videos. But if you have a suggestion on topics that you find challenging let me know, I’ll see what I can do.
Dulce Noche the program i got in to only gave us a week of free time before our graduation so we only really utilized the one week we had, I wanted to get it over with, so I scheduled the ascp on the morning of our graduation.
Hi! Chemistry was the worse to study for because there weren’t any good books for it. I depended mostly on SUCCESS and bottomline approach (at least this book had animations). Links to these books are on the description of the video.
I love you thank you blessings from Jesu Chris
Mam what about "hoffbrand essential of heamatology" &" Lange Microbiology"
Can you please share some histotechnologogy references books?
This test go MLT. Or Lab tech .too..THANKS
Thanks
Do you think that the material that ASCP makes available on the site to study would be good materials as well?
During my time, I didn’t get to review that material, so I can’t give a fair opinion on that matter.

I’m taking the ASCP exam next month! Which CLS program did you graduate from?
I went to Amazon to check their prices and I was shocked, they're so expensive, I don't know how to tell my parents that I need to buy them

should I signup for Labce and practice in Labce for ASCP test?
It helped with me during my time, this was in 2017. It gives you an idea of how it feels when you are taking the actual test. www.labce.com
Hi- Do you want to sale the Success book?
No, I still use it as reference from time to time. There should be cheap used ones on Amazon. 😊
Is diagnostic bacteriology book covers the virus, parasites, mycology
Or its just about bacteria only?
Thank you
It’s for bacteria only.
@@ReaNavDoes the exam including parasitology and mycology and which book do you recommend for that
