So let me get this straight: "Real-time Tracking" is AF-C, one of the tracking focus options (e.g. Wide, Expanded Spot) PLUS Face/Eye detect? What happens if you turn off Face/Eye detect? Do you still have the same type of tracking performance? Because in my brief experience, it seems that tracking ability reverts to what it was "pre-RTT" firmware; i.e. not great. If, OTOH, turning Face/Eye detect off is still supposed to yield more accurate and precise tracking than previously, then there's something wrong with my A9.
I have this camera and I wish I hadn’t bought it because it lacks focus bracketing. All the other major brands have this feature in their mirrorless cameras. How about updating the software Sony?
@@KenTVtw it might be do to the processor not being up to par. they want to save it for the higher end models. all quite silly. this camera should be able to do 4k 60p!
@Shah Mohammad Sharafat Evidently, the A7III processor is not capable enough so either pickup the A7SIII, if you're in a hurry, or wait for the A7IV to debut. I'm guessing sometime this summer.

They said on the site that : Sony’s popular α7R III and α7 III full-frame cameras will both receive enhanced Real-time Eye AF performance with the upcoming firmware version 3.0. This will be available in AF-C mode with a simple half-press of the shutter button. Real-Time Eye AF for animals will also be available. All in April 2019.

Not really, their autofocus on inannimate objects sucks! They always showcase humans but not objects. Please fix this sony :(

A7iii needs real time tracking firmware update

I think there's specialized hardware to facilitate this in the new bodies (maybe an ASIC of some sort).

I switched from Canon to Sony after more than 18years. Sony is more advanced, but its menu sux bigtime
