I highly recommend you just remove the caliper, brake pads, and bracket, then suspend the caliper with a caliper hook. Clean and paint the brackets off of the car on a workbench. Clean and paint the caliper under the fender hanging on the hook, or pinch the brake hose and remove the caliper completely and paint it with the bracket. It will come out much better that way and you will have 100% coverage.
if they are new calipers with new factory paint, you just need to scuff the surface with 280-320 grit sandpaper and use the Cleaner Degreaser. Then you can paint over it per instructions. @@johns1646 We don't have a satin at this time. The caliper paint isn't extremely high gloss, so it might still work for you. You could test it on a scrap metal surface.
Yes if you put a decal you should Top Coat with a clear coat that can handle caliper temperatures and UV. Follow recoat times on the can to apply the clear over everything
When I apply my rust proventer it looks like watery kinda wierd is that commen. I did use the degreasor waited about 15 min then watered it down. Then apply the rust preventative spray waited for it to dry then applied the rust proventer paint and it came out like that. Anyone having this issue

Aren't you suppose to mix the cleaner with 4 parts water and 1 part cleaner?
You can use it without diluting. Brake calipers are notoriously dirty, so he chose to use it straight. Diluting with warm water 4:1 would still work

if i leave the rust preventative to dry overnight, what do i scuff it with to get it ready for paint?
220-320 grit scuff pad or paper. Try not to go down to metal. You just need to make it ruff and not glossy.

What paint you have for brake drums?
POR-15 Caliper paint kits or you could also use the POR-15 engine enamel over the POR-15 rust preventive system

Can you do a 2K clear coat over the paint to add UV protection?
The Caliper paint is a single stage top coat with UV protection. No need to clear, but you can if you really want to.

How long dry time between top coats?
This will depend on how thin it is applied, humidity, and ambient temperature. Somewhere between 1.5 - 4 hours
