The npcs, or patrons, don't need to be high level. They just need to be able to make an impact on the setting. A merchant with great wealth, a socialite with influence, a respected politician...
It seems to me that the braunstein in isolation is one thing, but the linking of them together with the consistsnt simulationism is where D&D really shines. That step away from just a village into a small region ala initial blackmoor was the special sauce. The relevant difference being blackmoor didnt have as much of the simulation glue laid out. Ad&d being so complete is what can link everything together. Still almost feels to me like we should use a different term. But givinf credit is important.
Also jeffros points are more and more clear every day. Why did all the old guard not pass any of this on? Why did it take 50 years for this to get more mainstream? Why the absolute insane gatekeeping when this is the more immersive and exciting and revolutionary game?
The main issue is that Jeffeo is the 1st most important person in D&D since both Dave and Gary let themselves die. I do not think Jeffeo will make that same mistake.
Thank you Mike! Very kind!!
I still hold a grudge over the Elvis Costello comment.
@@Scutifer_Mike I will surely get my comeuppance!
Thanks for the shout out bro!

Good distinction
Bro is to humble he gives shoutouts but forgets to link his own substack. 🥃
Slight over sight. 😂

They are still trying to diminish the work and effort of the BRos. Saying what we play isn’t a real Braunstein…😂
Sounds exiting! Good Luck, and keep us posted!

What were they thinking?
