Ravenna - At the End of Classical Antiquity, Italy | Treasures of the World

When the Roman Empire was already doomed to fall and neither Rome nor Milan could offer security to the court, Ravenna became the capital of the Western Roman Empire. All of its churches and mausoleums date back to this period. Especially the churches impress with their colorful mosaics, which belie their age.
