Best scout is the Gaz, no contest. Yar 87 is probably tied to Khan. Hummer is an amazing allrounder. Good mileage, decent mud/offroad, good speed on level surface, doesn't fall over easily and easy to drive. If I don't know what I'm facing and I'm not on 3rd map of a region (the most difficult ones) Hummer is a very good choice. The Khan is very overpowered in the beginning, but since it's only a scout vehicle, it's no biggie.
For whatever reason I've been having fun using the loadstar 1700 as my scout. The long wheelbase is sometimes an issue but even with just all terrains it goes pretty much anywhere
My only problem with Khan which is possibly hard to test is it's tendency to flip really easy. It's also very near impossible to drive in a straight line on bumpy trails and it tends to bounce a lot, compounded with hitting a rock or slight angle which just results in way to many flips. I gave up on the king of the hill challenge after flipping over on multiple attempts. I later tried king of hill again with an upgraded off-road hummer and it was a breeze in comparison. So these tests mostly all straight tests is a bit unfair, sure Khan looks better on paper but when doing actual off-road missions i find other scouts far more reliable and easier and less stressful to use then the Khan.
Maybe it's just you're driving then I got king of the hill done my first try with the Khan and only flipped once. Didn't even know it was a challenge, just driving around the map and was like, "Haven't gone on that trail before."
Trail tests /rockier paths would be interesting. I find that the Khan and the Hummer are simply too wide to for a couple of the rockier trail areas in the game. You can certainly avoid the rockier trails, but then again you can avoid the deeper mud pits too.
My tip: If you want to use the Scout, it makes the most sense in snow-covered maps or for small transports that do not go beyond one slot. (He does have a large trailer with two slots, but it can hardly pull it through the mud when fully loaded.) For all the other reconnaissance work, I would recommend using the Marshall (or a better vehicle).
For those who is interested in real prototype of Khan - it is UAZ Hunter, well tuned for offroad. It is very popular here in Russia for hardcore offroading.
Btw I’m not sure anyone knows this: if you buy a scout fuel trailer, leave it, get the khan, and just use the winch to pull it around if u need to use it, it’s super helpful for exploring and works great for me
I like to use a semi trailer and attach a sideboard trailer with the winch to be able to pull 7 slots of cargo, you just need to be particular about what truck you're using and what path you plan on taking
That's correct but It can lead to problems because the khan tips quite easily. . You might need the winch to rescue yourself or prevent tipping in the firs t place. And in hilly areas that's might lead to you loosing the trailer. Because you have to unwinch it to winch your khan wich problably makes your trailer go downhill faster than you can look. Good luck getting a trailer upside down between trees on a steep Cliffside back. That is going to be quite the adventure :D
Khan if you want to get there fast scout 800 if you need to use its addition ability. There are also place on the maps where the rocks become narrow and only the scout 800 will fit
first thing ive done is sell khan, because i dont want to start with overpowered shit. also i hate driving through water in this game. i get cramps in my throttle finger after a while. BTW you make the best SR videos!
Stretches are key, never pass up on stretches and always keep moving even whilst playing. If you arent holding the trigger, do something else. Or just, you know, press the trigger against something else.
If the Kahn either had the fuel capacity of the Scout plus the added roof rack add-ons the Scout has then I would use it when I'm scouting new maps. But since it's around half the fuel with the same consumption plus no way to hook a trailer (besides wenching it) it's basically just a playing around rock crawling truck that has almost zero practical use. The Scout in my opinion is the best starting vehicle for scouting new areas since you can get it right after building the first bridge in Michigan.
Never used any other then my Hummer and the great thing about it is that you find it at the start of the game. What´s even better is that Hummer comes with excellent tires so you can just explore first Alaska map and get upgrades for it.
@@mattcannon8467 You can pull up Hummer from Lake on first map of Alaska (it's standing below oil pipe). It's pretty easy if you have SUV (Don't know if you call it something else. On russian it's called "Внедорожник", google give crossover photos), but possibly even without it. Sorry for my English.
Khan is a beast. I can't believe some of the stuff I've done with it like getting lost trailers that I thought I'd have to upgrade my other trucks to go get. I'm just having so much fun with the Khan I'm flat out not upgrading my trucks at all and just pulling them all around with it to complete missions and contracts.
Khan is also useless at proper offroad, it cant handle small inclines and has the on road performance of a jet powered hamster... Sadly these tests dont show its actual capability.
Hi! Great video, I like the style. I will add my 2c for some constructive feedback - 1st, braking test should be done at same speed to see whose brakes are actually 'better'. 2nd, (And I know English isn't your first language so not a criticism) it is 'Idle Consumption' not 'Ideal'. Might confuse some people otherwise :)
I want to help you all out and save you some time. The hands down best scout in the game is the international loadstar. It's as strong as a paystar at pulling has full time awd and diff lock. It's also the fastest vehicle I have seen to boot. I do just about all deliveries with it. It uses the same upgrades as the other larger international trucks. You are welcome.
Highway trucks really seem to suck. Actually, your first 4 trucks or so suck. I am sure they have their uses with what add-ons that you can have for them though. The Paystar 5070 seems to be a great truck so I'd focus on getting that asap.
I'd recommend exploring at first. because there is fairly easy to find vehicles scattered about which you can instantly flip to and then recover to a garage,, then retain to move it to your global garage then pop back into any garage you like. You unlock Alaska and Russia map pretty early after the tutorial and first couple missions and there is a really good truck in both first area of Alaska "Royal" and also first area of Russia "Tulga" both which are leaps and bounds better then any of the other trucks you find in first area. You'll still have to play a while to level up and use better tires, but even without better tires should still preform way better then the early trucks. Also if you start off exploring, you can get upgrades to unlock raised suspension which allows larger tires which helps a lot and better engines etc.
@@wasteland-werewolf No truck sucks outright at the start, plus the way the game is designed you are supposed to keep switching as upgrades flow between vehicles. What was good at level 1 might be bad at level 4, but it will surely be better than what you have at level 8. Cycle repeats until maxed out.
I love your spintires/mudrunner/snowrunner videos, but in this video I miss the happy and vibrant soundtrack as in the older videos. Keep doing more videos!
Quick tip because the khan is very powerful use the winch to attach to the trailers it works really well I have done that for trailer rescue missions it’s very useful
you think the scout 800 is horrible HA the khan is so high off the ground, if youre at a slight incline with the S ranking engine that things back wheels will grip the ground so hard the front wheels come up off the ground and if you keep pressing the accelerator you fall backwards in a small little hill, in mud is ok because your wheels just spin, but in like a small incline with grass you take off from 0 to 20 in a bouncy start, also do not face a cliff sideways, under any circumstances, also even the lightest of bumps on the hard ground can make this thing topple over like the leaning tower of pisa... except that hasnt topped yet >.>
Hey I know this isnt the tire test vid. Buuuut if you get a chance you should test if the different tire type (not tread type but "brand" type) makes even the slightest difference or if its solely cosmetic at that point. Great vids love to watch em whenever its slow at the shop!
I have no idea why the Khan 39 comes with such large tires, it should come with much smaller tires and then you have to pay a heap to get those overpowered tires.
@@danielfrederick306 Maybe they will have a update with more trucks? Or a dlc! Imagine... Jeep Bronco, A Dune buggy and a tank. Now im just thinking wildly but still!
Qualla Sowalla I’m pretty sure they have already confirmed dlc add one for the game, you don’t just make a game like this that people already love and not have add one for the future planned
I wonder if they can get the rights to Chrysler Corp or I guess it’s now f.c.a. than we could get ww2 jeeps and flat fender power wagons and even a 1st gen Cummins
I got the Khan purely to find and unlock the raised suspension for the 800. It does the job because it can cope with any terrain, but it's no fun to drive. The Khan 39 makes Snowrunner easier, the Scout 800 makes it more fun.
@@armoredp it can be played as multiplayer. and yes, they advertized game with OP khan, just to find out you have to pay extra to get it. It's scummy business
Experienced offroader, not a UA-camr. The Scout 800 outperforms the DLC Khan until late game based on upgrades. For those that say is "undriveable" learn to use low+ gear, and upgrade the gearbox to the snowrunner, problem solved.
How do you not understand the gearbox?! Its a normal gear box. Low is used for climbing and going thru tough spots like rivers and mudd puddels. Automatic is uswd for cruising or top speed here you can back up faster and go forward faster. In reverse, you back up slower but you have acces to toggleable difflock or awd. High is a way to have a constant flow of speed, unlike in automatic where it will gear down if you get sruck high will just keep on going. And neutral lets you roll your vehicle without usinng the engine. So if you run out of fuel on a hill put it in neutral and you will roll to the bottom.
The other scout advantage is the handling. The Kahn bounces all over the place for no apparent reason, to the point where I think the handling might be bugged (and not just in the mud, as you showed). I've been going on a perfectly straight road only for it to suddenly jut off to the side, and now that you showed the way it drifts in the mud in this clip, I wonder if that happens in other circumstances as well. That said, I still use it all the time when I'm going through the thickest of the thick.
Mr. Butterworth scout is great but Yar is available relatively in the beginning, and in my opinion it’s low center of gravity and 150L fuel with add on is unbeatable
SR is a lot about tires and Khan is cheating here. Super wide strong tires. Like some beach tires. While large mud tires on Scout aren't as wide and make the stability a lot worse. Because high and super low pressure like they should in mud. On top of Scout poor stability in general. But then in my experience fuel trailer helps with that a lot. Slowing jumps and rolls. Also you don't need the strongest engine in offroad. Just strong enough to make your wheels spin in every situation. You aren't digging holes here. So in the end Scout 800 with fuel trailer, medium mud tires and initial rather high setup can do 2 map scouting in one run. While Khan will be a lot of forth and back. Also Scout roof rack is next to none. Loadstar 1700 is nice too. Fuel issues, but can have trailer. The only problem is low tanks hitting ground obstacles. So like they said - enjoy specialized cars for special cases. Tatarin? Another insanely OP car. But poor at turning and limited in other ways. In the end all I can say this game is designed quite well. A lot of "but" everywhere. Choices.
Lol the size of the Khan compared to the Scout 800. I like all the scouts. The international and the CK1500 are cool old trucks. The Khan I use in Alaska or the Russian man Taymr. Think it’s called Taymr. The little APC is sweet also. All the scouts are cool vehicles. This game is packed with cool vehicles, it’s got a lot in it to do, that’s why I love this game so much. I’ve been playing it on my days off during the weeks and on weekends... don’t have kids yet, so I get all this time to relax, and enjoy the game and other Things. Quarantine ain’t so bad for some people, and for some it ain’t so good. I feel really bad for those who are in quarantine and it ain’t going well for them. People in cities, people who don’t have much especially. I feel for them. Hope by the end of this year it will go away or start dying out.
I got the Khan after I joined a MP session just after finishing the tutorial. So, once I was back to my own map, I kinda got through waaaaaay to easy. Well, there are enough missions, sure enough, but scouting with the Khan guarantees you fast progress...
@@frankvandendool882 What? Fuel is well enough for going through two maps, easily reaching any fuel station on the way. Plus with the roof attachment you get nearly two extra fill ups. More than enough for me...
The scout can pull a trailer which is require in some areas that larger trucks can't get to. And it gets ice chains. As a straight up scout the khan is hard to beat
Any one else also found the scout to be super easy to flip? I would probably use it over the Khan because of the roof rack, trailers, and the look of the car, but I also feel like I have to be 5x as careful when driving over and off-road terrain when compared to the Khan.
I use smaller wheels for the scout. It is way more stable than khan marshall. The smallest tires make it super stable, but ground clearance is bad then. I use the all terrain medium sized tires and raised suspension, autonomous winch and it's quite stable. The scout is not about maxing out, it's about finding a sweet spot, and run long distances😄 try it out
IMO the Scout's a better climber/mountain path truck (Khan is just way too bouncy for narrow cliff trails), while the Khan is the best choice for mudding/fording. If you don't need to use a trailer, it comes down to what kind of terrain is between you and the objective.

The scout has a better rack and some small trailers also chained wheels.
For those who is interested in real prototype of Khan - it is UAZ Hunter, well tuned for offroad. It is very popular here in Russia for hardcore offroading.
My favourite scout is the Tatarian- The only flaw is that you can’t tow stuff but the winch is a definite way around that.
I entirely agree
I've found that winching trailers is better than towing them. Idk why but its almost as if it makes your vehicle lighter if its not connected to it
Btw I’m not sure anyone knows this: if you buy a scout fuel trailer, leave it, get the khan, and just use the winch to pull it around if u need to use it, it’s super helpful for exploring and works great for me
I like to use a semi trailer and attach a sideboard trailer with the winch to be able to pull 7 slots of cargo, you just need to be particular about what truck you're using and what path you plan on taking
Honestly, I prefer the scout. It’s much easier to drive on roads, even though it’s slightly worse off-road and has less stability.
You’ll want it back in Russia
If the Kahn either had the fuel capacity of the Scout plus the added roof rack add-ons the Scout has then I would use it when I'm scouting new maps. But since it's around half the fuel with the same consumption plus no way to hook a trailer (besides wenching it) it's basically just a playing around rock crawling truck that has almost zero practical use. The Scout in my opinion is the best starting vehicle for scouting new areas since you can get it right after building the first bridge in Michigan.
Even from hearing Scout's horn at the end of each test , you can tell it feels defeated . It still a good vehicle tho .
Very nicely presented.
SD1ONE:Remember some old content? well we will return to this
Never used any other then my Hummer and the great thing about it is that you find it at the start of the game.
What´s even better is that Hummer comes with excellent tires so you can just explore first Alaska map and get upgrades for it.
Where did you get the hummer at the start? I only have the 800 as my other scout
@@DreXASK thanks for the tips, i'll go and check it out.
Brake test wrong, all vehicles must have equal speed.
Khan is a beast. I can't believe some of the stuff I've done with it like getting lost trailers that I thought I'd have to upgrade my other trucks to go get. I'm just having so much fun with the Khan I'm flat out not upgrading my trucks at all and just pulling them all around with it to complete missions and contracts.
yah I know what you mean and with stock engine it consume far less fuel then any other scout and still don't feel underpowered
Resume: Khan is the best at all, except for the ice climb, Scout have advantage by using chained tires.
you're welcome.
Khan is also useless at proper offroad, it cant handle small inclines and has the on road performance of a jet powered hamster... Sadly these tests dont show its actual capability.
Also, low fuel carrying capabilities on the Khan mean if you are REALLY exploring for miles the Scout is better overall
Khan can roll easily and can’t pull trailers
how can you get the Khan ? it's not available
@@simoaitsaid8598 its a pre order I believe

Love these videos man, keep them coming!
You forgot that Khan is a DLC so some can easily stick with Scout.
I'm. Gonna use the scout to drop fuel trailers all round the maps great video

Scout is such a rollover hazzard it needs outriggers.
I love these tests. Keep them coming please
The scout 800 is horrible flipped this vehicle sooo many times already
Yeah if you use it without the independent winch you will have a bad time
@@edwardkenway148 was a foot from my objective and it flipped after 5 times trying to get there the chevy was a welcomed addition to my garage
you think the scout 800 is horrible HA the khan is so high off the ground, if youre at a slight incline with the S ranking engine that things back wheels will grip the ground so hard the front wheels come up off the ground and if you keep pressing the accelerator you fall backwards in a small little hill, in mud is ok because your wheels just spin, but in like a small incline with grass you take off from 0 to 20 in a bouncy start, also do not face a cliff sideways, under any circumstances, also even the lightest of bumps on the hard ground can make this thing topple over like the leaning tower of pisa... except that hasnt topped yet >.>
You just need the autonomous scout winch, and it won’t matter anymore.
It looks great but it loves to flip

Experienced offroader, not a UA-camr. The Scout 800 outperforms the DLC Khan until late game based on upgrades. For those that say is "undriveable" learn to use low+ gear, and upgrade the gearbox to the snowrunner, problem solved.
In other words, don’t sell the scout if you’re going to Alaska
In other words you can just buy it back for the same price you sold it for
Just found your channel
Do you have a video explaining the gearbox?
I'll try to make a tips and tricks video for new players

It’s nice to see snowrunner/mudrunner content back on the channel. You should do Khan vs Yar
Me with the YAR 87: Pathetic
Me with with Tuz 420 tatarin: P A T H E T I C
The other scout advantage is the handling. The Kahn bounces all over the place for no apparent reason, to the point where I think the handling might be bugged (and not just in the mud, as you showed). I've been going on a perfectly straight road only for it to suddenly jut off to the side, and now that you showed the way it drifts in the mud in this clip, I wonder if that happens in other circumstances as well. That said, I still use it all the time when I'm going through the thickest of the thick.
Scout has larger fuel capacity so you can go on those longer, cross map, expeditions
A bit sad because we don't have Bob always angry now, but awesome video
This was great man 😁 can't wait see more
Scout 800 is superior all around because it’s an actual truck and the Khan is a fantasy truck with balloon tires and limited usability.
No it doesn't. You have to refuel every 5 minutes.

I’ve been really looking forward to videos like this.

The scout is not about maxing out, it's about finding a sweet spot, and run long distances😄 try it out
@@subhadeepchakrabarti funny cos this comment is a year old but i downloaded it again this week!
IMO the Scout's a better climber/mountain path truck (Khan is just way too bouncy for narrow cliff trails), while the Khan is the best choice for mudding/fording. If you don't need to use a trailer, it comes down to what kind of terrain is between you and the objective.
yup because of it's narrow width scout is better in mountains trails but khan is OP in my opinion... it's like a mod
Marshall is nice. But it has a tendency if you make a mistake it likes to roll over allot and due to its power for speed can be harder to drive.
