MORE videos like this please! Also we are glad you are in front of the camera, you have a very honest, warm, and sweet personality that comes across well on camera! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! I’ve learned to embrace it 😅
I’m okay with vlogging in the public. What messing me up is loud noise like a loud motorcycle or loud car noise. Sometimes it’s the airplane so loud.
Ugh, that’s a huge problem for me too, and one of the reasons why I often dislike filming outside. Over time, I’ve learned to listen for loud sounds and stop filming until they pass.
I found this really helpful! A year in, I still get insecure about public vlogging, but definitely have felt the confidence grow.
Thank you for your time to provide helpful content and tips. I have watched 3 of your video’s so far (trying to learn about my Sony camera. You are very easy to follow and very natural and down to earth. You don’t talk too fast, don’t appear to be rushed to squeeze too much in 1 video
Would definitely love to see more of these types of videos! Or following along with how you script and then talk to camera, that would be very interesting
Thank you so much for this video. I've been publishing videos for the last 3 years, have 139 of them posted and still do not have enough views to reach the monetized threshold. I'm working to get them better and I'm gradually focusing on a clearer niche. My point is: watching your channel keeps me encouraged to keep going and to incorporate your points into my video creation. Thank you so much.
Excellent tips for a beginner. Thank you!
I found this video very helpful. Make more like these! For me, these have a higher value.
Thanks so much for this video! I fell into so many of those categories you discuss that keep me from making videos. I spent many months building a "set" and getting all the right equipment, getting the right clothes, then writing a perfect script, then getting more equipment (a teleprompter) to read the script... and then when I tried to make my first video, it was terrible! I was stiff, worried, robotic... and I've been afraid to try again. Your tips are a great reminder that we all start from scratch and learn as we go. I'm ready to try again!
Love the tips. I started a secret vlog channel, mostly to make home videos of vacations for the memories and to share with family, and It is so weird to hear myself on camera and also makes me aware that I should speak up more. But I decided to try and get comfortable in front of a camera so it helps me on zoom calls esepcially when I need to present.
Thank you for this video. Would love more videos like this perhaps in a dedicated playlist. For a beginner like myself this is good info.
I’ve had the same experience, it was difficult to speak on camera in my early videos. But now it comes more naturally. I don’t use a script, but I do have a outline, and I practice it at least once. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Yes please, more videos like this would be very useful and you're also very inspirational too, which also helps relax and give confidence. There are so many ways and things you can do tagging onto this video, you can do composition of photo/video, setting up equipment taking into account weather and location, you could also do effects techniques in post, etc. Most of all, I totally love your videos and have been a proud sub for quite a few years now. So I still enjoy comparisons, reviews, set ups, editing vlogs, I also love your presentation-style, it's very concise and relaxing. Keep up the fab work, thank you.
You're so brave. Thanks for your tips
Love the video. Love the tips. Love this format... Keep 'em coming!
Practical sensible advice! Thank you.
Good video. I like the part about scripting. It is very important for anyone to get better at talking on camera. ALL news people use a teleprompter to deliver the news, so why would it be bad to do it for your vlogging channel?
Excellent tips! Thanks for sharing!
I found this video incredibly encouraging. I have been trying to work up to putting myself in my videos and I believe this was some great advice.
Love the video! Please make more like this. Maybe talk about how to create urban and nature videos. I know they exist but I always enjoy multiple perspectives. Maybe others do as well. Thanks so much! Greetings from Anacortes!
That’s great idea! Love Anacortes ❤️
This was a great video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
thank you for the insight it was very useful
That was brilliant! Oh and congratulations on your future new family member😃
This is a super helpful!!!! video pls share more of your knowledge and experiences. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. I also struggle with talking to the camera. I will have to rewatch this video multiple times. Also, I want to say your channel is one of the best channels I have found. You don't speak over my head; you speak to where I can understand it. We recently purchased the Osmo Pocket 3 with the DJI mic 2, and your videos have been a big help with different camera settings. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much for the feedback 🙏
Excellent tips 👍 thanks for sharing, I’ve done too many videos and I’m still nervous to talk in public
Thank you for this!!!
Thanks for the video, it helps!
I’m just starting with videography and haven’t filmed myself yet. Thank you for sharing these valuable tips, I found them very useful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Miss thanks you very much you help me alot really
Great helpful video, thank you
Hi there! I've been viewing your videos for gear and most of my UA-cam equipment and I always believed you were a natural. So I appreciate this video you offered as I feel much better knowing someone like you had the same struggles! Thank you for sharing your experience and perhaps you're evolving and now can offer more videos like this, but please keep me up on new and improve equipment that makes our passion much more easy and efficient so we can provide our best work! Bye the way, Congratulations on your recent announcement! Wishing you and your family well...
More gear videos to come! But I’ve been enjoying these tip-based videos too that hopefully show what you can do with the gear 😄
great advice .....
Thanks! Cute kid! Subscribed. Practicing.
This is a fantastic video Mam! I especially liked your point about filming in a comfortable environment. That's something I hadn't thought about before, but it makes so much sense. I think I'll try filming in my backyard from now on.
Great video, totally agree with everything talked about.
Great information👏
Excellent vid. Thanks for the tips that I greatly need👍👍
Great!
So helpful 😮
Hey, great topic today. I can definitely relate to this video. Sometimes it takes me SO long to get comfortable in front of the camera when I’m trying to shoot a video, take after take after take. My wife says I’m too critical of myself or I sound too scripted. Still trying to find that right balance. Anyway, yes more videos like this please. P.S. I enjoy your tech videos also!✌🏾
TIP 8
Have half a glass of wine or Beer, before you start filming.
Yes it really does work.
lol! Unfortunately I’m allergic to alcohol, so that wouldn’t work for me. But I agree about drinking a beverage first. A lot of mouth pops and smacks often happen because we’re dehydrated.
@@Gemini_Connect i get a dry mouth within 3 minutes of talking to the camera
Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
Thank you for sharing! I am 67 years young and would love to start a UA-cam channel. I am grateful for the tips. So important! 👍🏾And away we go………!
Do it
I hope you start the channel! I love watching videos from people of all walks of life.
🙏🏾❤️
I started my channel several years ago testing wine on UA-cam, but only last year I started publishing videos on a different topic than the beginning of the channel. Today I even have a blog.
Great video. I've always wanted to do reviews and bike vlogs, but as you've mentioned, I struggle with wanting to be perfect or not knowing what to say. I guess that's more of a confidence issue than anything else.
It’s almost entirely psychological. Even as an introvert, I’ve found that the more I do it, the easier it gets.
Keep doing these videos
As an introvert, extrovert person, I really dont talk as much as I would like too. Im quiet and laidback. I tried of ralking to the camera in my car but when i studdered, or thinking of what to say, I cut the camera off and said "this aint gon work" 😂 I you guys as UA-camr inspires me to want to create content.
Practice really does help, whether it’s talking to people or a camera. I find that the more I do it, the easier and more natural it feels.
Yes yes.. thanks for this clip.. i can't speak once the camera turn on on me! i really do look weird .. and discomfortable whenever the camera is turn on on me ... thanks for this tips
❤🎉😊please do, I really appreciate you making this video, I can relate with you as I thought that my hubby would be the one in front of the camera, I will watch this over and over again 🎉, thank you for sharing this video 🎉🙏.
Thank you for these great tips and your amazing videos. I'm moving towards creating content similar to yours using a mix of topics around travel, creative expression, and personal development. Your hard work and willingness to share is appreciated!!!!
Cheers so much and I'll be honest at first I didn’t like you, but your husband but then I realised you're more suited for it, because of the manner in which you explain things, plus get your point across without all the hype and hoohah 😊❤
Thanks for the honesty 😅
😊
Hi. I am thinking about filming some wedings or events in summer with pocket 3. Can you give advice/comment on such endeavor?
Watch my video about Pocket 3 settings and tips and tricks.
I recently discovered your channel and it's pretty great. If you're looking for honest criticisms on this video I found it a little weird how you often said " talk TO Camera" instead of "talk to THE Camera".....I found you mixed both of those phrases but weren't consistent.
Thanks for pointing that out. I know that I use phrases inconsistently when I go unscripted…something I need to work on!
You say better script the whole video than you say “don’t look at the selfie screen look at the lens” . …how can you look at the lens if you’re trying to read a script in the same time ?thank for the tips
Thanks for the heads up. What I like about your videos is NO profanity. I wll not watch a video or movie with profanity. I was a constuction worker and in the military. So I have heard everything under the sun. Thank you for the videos. Two thumbs up.
Thanks for that feedback. I made a conscious effort to not include profanity in any videos.
