What the parrot exercises make clear is that parrots have vision that's similar to (or superior to) humans. They clearly see not only shapes, but colors as well - and can remember them! I wonder why Ruby (red macaw) understood that she'd mixed up two of the shapes and didn't just think she was finished; maybe the man didn't signal that she was done. I also thought it was interesting that the yellow & blue macaw was a little unsure about the last three colors: light yellow, white, and light green. Maybe they don't look as different as they do to us (those of us who aren't color blind, that is.)
Why? Who told you this? Animals are eating each other in the wild. Even plant eaters eat smaller animals all the time. Its nature. Its the very essence of the circle of life and death. If the single-celled monad didnt devoured the mitochondria we would not be here writing comments...
@@vedrfolnir7936 We have supermarkets. Those animals are in survival situations. They have no other choice. Real meat eaters need to eat other animals to stay alive, we don't. We have a choice. And why would one chose to be cruel?

very nice video, please give the birds a treat from me ; )
The more I see and understand animals it makes me ponder on the rightness of eating them.

Ich würde die Dokumentation zu gern nochmal ganz sehen, leider wurde sie gelöscht.
I Liked this, despite not understanding the language. What is this clip from?
@drkost
Its from a german documentation about the under-estimated intelligence of birds.
na, wer von euch konnte das mit den Farben statt den Formen? (so ab 5:00)
(ich nicht ;-) )
Der Papagei hat diese Aufgabe schon tausend mal gemacht. Der Zuschauer erst einmal. Etwas ungerecht😁
