I have been a victim in the work place. We did a activity to get to know each other at work and co workers went around and asked what we liked to do on our free time and one straight person said I have movie night with my husband on the weekends and I said I like to take walks with my wife and was pulled into a meeting and was told not to talk about my sexuality because it was inappropriate. I don't think every work place is like this but unfortunately it does exist. I hope one day we can live in a world that promotes equality and acceptance.
Her work to uncover this bias in employing people is much needed. The reality is often getting denied. This has nothing to do with being victim. These seem to be objective studies which shine a light on bias. It is not a victim mentality to call out & address bias.
With respect I have a honest question. I work with the IT community and I have presented teams that I work with a specific problem and ask them to formulate an answer. The problem is that there is a meeting discussing a software development project that currently has a rather serious bug. During this discussion a particular person gets offended. They start to make an argument about the offense. (And here's my question...... What should the manager say that would diffuse the situation and get the team back on task?) Any responses would be very appreciated. Thank you
I'm offended by the rainbow flag usage. I don't expect it to change but it is offensive. I am also offended by the constant push in my daily life that I am suppose to care at work about lgbtq issues. I am also offended they have homosexual literature in schools, and I am offended that corporations won't stop wasting my time talking about this supposed problem, but doesn't take any real problems serious. I love gay people, this is not about them, it is about the culture of telling me what I should care about, but discounting what real problems exist. Discrimination exists on many levels, even down to personality traits. All these companies and government is doing is trying to prevent lawsuits, they don't care about these issues either. Just like politicians who say they want to help them pretend they can't fix the problem once in power. Stop pushing narratives on people. Your dividing not unifying. Call out wrong when it happens, don't beat the drum until we go crazy. Sexual preference should have no place being discussed in outward society, it is a private matter. Just like if I want to do things to my girlfriend or wife at home in the bedroom. I don't want people beating a drum about details of ethical bedroom behavior for heterosexuals over and over again, meanwhile things are happening to homosexuals that isn't good. No difference in sexuality, it is how your going about it.
The fact that homosexual men trigger a revulsion response in straight men could be a contributing factor. This is a natural response and will be overlooked or miscategorized as something that needs to change.
@@losttobooze that's not how things work. Usually man that feel some type of way is because they have a little gay in them too and they fear it. I have alot of straight men friends that don't have that habit and also they have no attraction towards mr. The problem is that alot of straight guys don't wanna welcome or include gay guys in their circle because they think it makes them look weak. And they don't see us as a normal human being, they label us
Why do corporations (including New Economic Thinking) not realise that people are tired of victimhood culture? You’re “fighting” for problems that barely exist.
It's become an industry - those in it need to foment this tosh; find victimhood under every stone. Hundreds of thousands of jobs are at stake after all.
@@hwtvi3466 you can talk about your husband and wife, but gay community doesn't stop at that, they shove their lifestyle in front of heterosexual people
Does unsubscribing require you to announce it for everyone? If so, let me rephrase it for you: "I'm unsubscribing because I don't like one video pointing out the uncomfortable truths that don't align with my world views".
I will be disliked for this, but why are the applications of employment getting more confusing? Why ask about orientation or pronouns? It's as simple as male or female. Anything beyond is confusion. Ijs. It should be simple. We are complicating things. 😢 Jesus made it very simple. ❤

@Merican Modi wow, good
Sounds really interesting. Would really like a link to the study.
Yeah lesbians are treated with no respect .But it's important to be strong . And not change for no one .

This is NOT a natural response...this is completely learned in the same way that racism is learned!
@@tiffanyrichards3254 this is studied, look it up. Learned behavior is controlled for. Also recognizing race isn't learned either, it's inborn

But why on earth do we need to specify our sexual orientation on job application forms?
I'm gay and I'm in Malaysia where there's LGBTQ punishment

The lack of self-awareness in this comment is truly hilarious

so in essence; you're complaining about complaining?
Homophobia in the workplace is a real thing. FYI racism is too.
Your sexuality has no bearing at the workplace
I hope you don’t have any coworkers that talk about their wives husbands, then.

Just be people!! Indentity politics is stupid!
calm down snowflake
But LGBTQ people are notoriously attention and special treatment seekers
I love this. Also wishing I was a woman so I could be taught by her, damn.
