- More than a year since I last played Valheim, I decided to see if I could survive a full playthrough with only the knife weapons. The first time I played Valheim, I used hammers, bows and magic to make progress. This time, I'm pushing myself to really master dodging, parrying and sneaking to make the most of the damage from the knife.. In this video, I tell the story of the first days of my solo adventure in Valheim.

I learned a lot in my return to Valheim. Considering it's been over a year, I think I did pretty well! I also heard there's more difficulty options... something for me to possibly check out.

Its a little late but tips: with knife use extended combos, that with all weapons but, doge the attacks bosses as parring has no use; and with a doge you take on damage. Do not sneak up on boar its a waste of time, and don't upgrade the copper knife; just build a boat and find a leviathans. So if you want to play only knife playthrough... I guess, now you know.
And Skullytin well done, you sure learned to 'knife' quicker then I did.

As another person has stated, you should be focusing on dodging more than parrying with a knife. Later weapon options that function as knives don't let you dual weild, so you will have to start dodging at some point.

tbh i feel like knives are so underrated in valheim, with x6 backstab bonus and x3 secondary atack bonus you get x18 damage for a first atack, you can oneshot a lot of enemies with that

I haven't played the game in over a year, so deathless isn't exactly something I can pull off. Perhaps in the future, as there is a hardcore mode!

Possibly. There's a lot of games I do want to play so I'm not trying to rush through them all. I also want to explore newer survival games like Enshrouded soon too!
Cool play through, though I think the chosen bg music (which has a very different vibe than Valheim) is pretty distracting imho. Just my 2 cents.

You know how I do
Hi, please post what the world difficulty settings are. Because on the hardest difficulty, shields are useless against many strong mo. Why would you stab a fly with a knife when you can put a verst on it?
Having played Valheim for many hours and never touched a knife, they don't seem to do that much less damage than the other weapons of the same material, even on non-sneak attacks.
I think there will be a larger disparity in later biomes
