  • The issues raised in the film THE OIL MACHINE have become even more urgent with recent upheavals in energy security, the cost of living, and our climate. At the same time, the UK government is rushing to offer 100 new licences for North Sea oil and gas exploration. One year on from the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow and coinciding with COP27, we’re now going back to the film’s contributors to ask them how recent global events have shaped the ongoing debate about oil.
Here's our catch-up with James Marriott of Platform London, also author of the book Crude Britannia and a key collaborator on THE OIL MACHINE. He says we all need to deal with the climate emergency with a wartime-like mindset and put it at the centre of our daily activity.

Geothermal has had recent breakthroughs with Nuclear power. Fossil fuels kill & mutiliate far more people than Nuclear while by indirect deaths it kills many-many millions as it threatens the billions. Storage of energy is another area showing a lot of progress.

It's over now we're having a conversation that it talks about how we can do this and we can do that could have should have what up what is whatever way you want to put it there's no sense in closing the barn door if the cows already out I think what people should do is have a great time while they're still alive because 80 saying goes it's the end of the world as we know it LOL
