Phenomenal deals in the US for these... almost every week "I'm about to buy one"... right now I went back and found the cheapest one for sale in the US at 275k with less than 1,000 miles on it... too much car for the money! great video as always brother, keep em coming!
You should buy one for sure. Kinda of similar to the 911r but less money and is a little more relaxed and has the cool roof. I see your love for spiders has seem to grow (your Aston and pista)
Simple macro economics apply here. The prices will normalize once all of the flippers have sold their supply, and the cars end up in the hands of those who really wanted one. Think the 911r prices dipped to almost $250k, and have run back up to $310-350k, build dependent.
I love how you explain how the car feels better than anybody else. I mean I turned 18 couple a months ago and still waiting on my driver's license. I've been watching your videos since 8th grade and mate it's really grown my love for cars. Hope this motivates you. ❤️
I loved this car from the first moment I set eyes on it. It's so underrated yet so beautiful, visually but also from a heritage point of view. You're lucky to be driving this car, I'm glad you know to appreciate it. The car is also lucky to be driven by you. Never letting us down on video quality Sam, do keep up the good work.
Another brilliant video Sam, probably the only cab (plus the Boxster Spyder) I would ever dream of owning. If any of those 14 flippers fancy lending me one for a quick video, drop me a line 🎬
I had to check online: there are currently 44(!) Speedster for sale in Germany alone. There is an actual possibility for these things to go down on value...
And there will be 44 Speedsters for sale at Christmas...Who the hell in Europe or the UK is going to spend that much money on a car with essentially no roof, and needs to be driven with the "Toupee"...down..
I think it will turn into something like the 911R, but alot faster, dropping from 500k to 300k. Im sure this will reach 200k soon enough, especially with the 992 gen gt3s coming
@@Mexxx65 the toupee works quite well visually and in practice. They will go down tho, not enough spine tingling wish making propaganda. R had it, gt3 rs had it, 991 gt3 had it, touring similar but bit less, the speedster barely had any, the forums barely talked about them, these type of things do influence price... 991 gt3 was the main example, problematic, pdk, and yet for 2 years was over mrsp.
We were lucky enough to get a Speedster allocation and it was a privilege to spec one (it’s driven and is definitely not for sale). We have noticed over the years that Porsche dealership owners are often keeping their allocation of limited cars and then on selling them later (usually at a huge profit). The same dealer that offered us their 918 and 911 R (at crazy prices) is now selling their Speedster. Porsche needs to stamp this out.
Great video Sam. It’s like being on a motorbike, it’s an attack on the senses. Being in a normal car is like watching a movie on TV, being on a motorbike or roofless car is like being IN the movie! Great work fella!! 👍🏻
You are the speedster salesman of the year 👍👌 But please keep reviewing other cars as most cars deserve your honest review. Thanks for giving us these videos.
You are blessed 😂. I’m now going to drive my Racing Yellow 991.1, here in Scottsdale, AZ. A Scouser I was born but living in the US for 40 years. Love your videos and passion around the greatest cars 👍
Great points, well made. I may be wrong, but it seems like many people (myself included) get caught up in long term cash values and other people’s opinions of cars, rather than just loving the cars for their own sake (which is entirely fair as no one wants to lose cash for no good reason, and no one wants people to look at their car like it sucks), but sometimes we just need to enjoy cars because we like them, for their own intrinsic value to us! Great video, Sam 🤙🏽
You spend a lot of time in and around the Cotswolds, Sam. I can understand why; it provides a beautiful backdrop to your videos, great roads, etc. Have you thought about doing a TGE and relocating?
Sam, I`ve never seen you this excited before, and it was very nice for me to learn and understand that the speedster is not a posers car. Great video!!!
Stop off in Cheltenham next time you’re about Sam, beautiful town. Great video as always. You’ve completely changed my outlook on Porsche’s in recent years
Great video Sam but I’d like to point out that the cloth roof and manual mechanism is NOT heavier necessarily. What makes the car heavier is the stiffening of the body that has to happen to maintain the integrity of the car so that you don’t feel it flexing since it has no roof. The OPF and the top do deaden the sound substantially but an aftermarket exhaust is all that’s needed. I installed the Dundon exhaust in mine and it has transformed the car completely. If you’re ever in a Miami hit me up and you can come drive it. Cheers Ernie
I keep rewatching some of your videos Sam!! This one, the McLarens above the clouds, the 718 spyder, you’re “I bought a 360!” And of course some of the Drive the World content! You’re style is great, keep up the good work. There’s a lot of automotive UA-camrs, there’s only ONE seen through glass 👍 Greetings to Toni :) Ps: if the budget ever permits: it’ll probably be the 718 spyder in a spec similar to the one you drove.
I remember this first time my boss took me for a lunch time spin in his early 2000's Boxster S with the roof down on a miserable day around Burnham Beaches with the heating on full and I absolutely loved it! So I totally get what you are saying!!
The thrill of ordering one? I think finding one of these 90% of the way you would order it for $100k less would be More thrilling. Such a cool car. Great vid.
Absolutely love my 718 Spyder because it is like a mini Speedster. However, I am with you, Sam, on this being a dream car! I would cherish the opportunity to spec one of these. Due to the limited number produced, it’s very hard to find one to match a desired PTS spec with CXX options.
I love the passion at the end - I smiled, imagining ordering one from factory in your own spec, my dream is to do that for a gt4 because that is all I can afford 👌🏻
Honestly you should buy (if you want to, and have the money) a 718 Spyder. It has the speedster vibe Its manuel Its lighter Its based on a gt4 so it will handle good And its not thaaat expensiv And I think of all us would like to see a 718 spyder roadtrip and more content🤔😏😉
You should try the 718 Spyder back to back and see how it compares for you. Put an exhaust on it and off you go for like 100k :) I haven't driven either, but could imagine that the 718 delivers 70-80% of what the Speedster can do at 33% of the price
When the world opens up again I think the speedster would be great for one of your tours Sam ..... especially with cockpit cameras being able to see out 360 degrees ...
Don’t forget you can still put the roof up on the Speedster. So you could use it use it year round, even though Sam and Henry Catchpole claim it should always be a roof down car. You don’t thrash it everyday, so you could just cruise in it and after all, that’s what Porsche speedsters are also about, cruising looking cool.
It's funny how sam a few years ago said that he never really liked Porsches and for the money would rather buy something Italian. And now he is almost this kind of Porsche guru 😂
Am I the only one that thinks the the Speedster isn’t as good looking as it should be? There’s like a lot of strange volume in above the area between the rear wheels and cabin. Maybe that’s why there’s so many for sale?! I actually think the Spyder is much better looking than the speedster, that with the GT3 engine would be perfect 😍 Saying that I think you could buy both a Spyder and at a GT3RS for the price of a Speedster and have your cake and eat it.
Definitely a dream car, but only for those with very deep pockets. For those with lower budgets I’d go with (in decreasing order) a GT3 Touring, 718 Spyder/GTS 4.0, or a 981 Boxster Spyder.

Speaking of keeping em coming what's up with the Podcast Sal?
no videos in 2 weeks... /:
You should buy one for sure. Kinda of similar to the 911r but less money and is a little more relaxed and has the cool roof. I see your love for spiders has seem to grow (your Aston and pista)
Looks like someone’s about trade in another car after a month
Simple macro economics apply here. The prices will normalize once all of the flippers have sold their supply, and the cars end up in the hands of those who really wanted one. Think the 911r prices dipped to almost $250k, and have run back up to $310-350k, build dependent.
that double bubble at the back and the side profile of this car is incredible, great video as always Sam!!
"I am the car!"

I love the part.

This one is a beauty. I love it. With the roof down.
It's definitely already a classic.
What a car!
Edited to perfection as always! One day you’ll have one I’m sure.
Another brilliant video Sam, probably the only cab (plus the Boxster Spyder) I would ever dream of owning. If any of those 14 flippers fancy lending me one for a quick video, drop me a line 🎬

IN other words guys..You'll hardly ever seen even one on uk roads.

I love your channel wish your content got you to millions of sub since its so real and genuine unlike others with way more subs than you
"I am the car". This is what I call PASSION!
Lovely Jubbly, you always have to appreciate Sam's enthusiasm and I think true belief on what he's reviewing.

You built up the anticipation well... and then the soundtrack came in, whooo!

My favourite UA-cam channel driving along with my favourite brand, what could go wrong? Absolutely nothing. Best Regards from Spain Sam
Last scene was great composition - broad grey skies, symmetrical green forest, with a bright orange beanie bobbing up and down in the centre
Sam get Henry Catchpole on the Behind the Glass podcast ASAP
Most wholesome car content....you the best brotha
Good point about people commenting on cars they haven’t driven, or worse, seen in the flesh. Great video, and I like that car!
You are getting better and better at this!
They don’t seem like much but when you see one on the road, the presence is incredible

Such a brilliant video mate! Brightens up my day to see another STG vid
The thrill of ordering one? I think finding one of these 90% of the way you would order it for $100k less would be More thrilling. Such a cool car. Great vid.
I wasn’t convinced at launch. But then I saw one in person and I just got it. GT3 touring still the dream for me but speedster is just so cool.
Drove one in Miami in January and loved it. Finally a great engine in the Speedster shape. However I am not sure I would pay £260k for one!!
That is a dream car. A manual gt3 with the roof off... what a delight! 9k redline and 500bhp. Yes please.
What a car. It's my dream car too.
Why does this channel still doesn't have a million subs??? Really impressive videography there, amazing content! Love your videos @seenthroughglass
Congrats on 500k subscribers Sam! Been a follower for a few years and it's great to see your channel growing like this!
Sam as always best in the business.
You bring tears to my eyes when you lean on that beauty, but I give you a like regardless.
Not everyone treats cars like unattainable girls. They're there to be touched bro. Learn this.
Just a beautiful car! Great video as usual Sam!
Love your enthusiasm for the speedster Sam. I think we’d all love one of these, funds permitting.
Absolutely love my 718 Spyder because it is like a mini Speedster. However, I am with you, Sam, on this being a dream car! I would cherish the opportunity to spec one of these. Due to the limited number produced, it’s very hard to find one to match a desired PTS spec with CXX options.
I loved this one Sam with your passion spilling over the dam. Just buy yourself one man!
Another great video Sam - Love the car content and the honest, open truth you share.
My fav looking 911!
Yep its on my lotto winning list , will just have to cope with my boxster till then , great video, this car just ticks all the right boxes ...
I love the passion at the end - I smiled, imagining ordering one from factory in your own spec, my dream is to do that for a gt4 because that is all I can afford 👌🏻
the 997 speedster was one of my dream cars, but then this one came out and absolutely blew it away
Sam- enjoy the soundtrack
puts techno music over the engine sound
that was sad
"Vee must have ze roof" lol :) Beautiful car!
Great review Sam - a stunning special car (especially in Brewster Green!) and definitely on my future car list!
Great video Sam , hope to see you in a Speedster of your own soon . Cheers !!!
Magnificent car, just perfect, thank you Sam, fun video 😁👍
Literally my dream car. In red, with manual gearbox. A real beaut.
Afternoon Sam! Keep up the great content! 👌🏻
It absolutely gorgeous I am drooling here!
Now you’re talking sam. 458 speciale and 911 speedster - it must be in your garage for sure
Great little 911 Sean
Thanks for the review
Been lookin' at them lately
Upper Slaughter ...and a Speedster....good combination 👏
Sam, could you please make som more of those green bracelets with the steering wheel on them?! Looks amazing! Great vid as always
Yes! Always be my dream car your last summary was absolutely correct
Honestly you should buy (if you want to, and have the money) a 718 Spyder.
It has the speedster vibe
Its manuel
Its lighter
Its based on a gt4 so it will handle good
And its not thaaat expensiv
And I think of all us would like to see a 718 spyder roadtrip and more content🤔😏😉
What a sound it makes!
My favorite car is the 987 boxster spyder
Great video Sam,very expensive here in Australia
Best video I've seen in a while!!
You should try the 718 Spyder back to back and see how it compares for you. Put an exhaust on it and off you go for like 100k :)

Beautiful clip Sam 👍!
Super car, great video. Lovely countryside, where were you?
Wow the rear gives me such a cool vibe it's awesome 👌
Adding this car me bucket list just need to win lottery now great video 💪🏼
Never going to happen. Good luck with the rest of your life.
"I am the car!" sooo good dude!
Amazing video bro!
Lower Slaughter looking nice as always in the opening B roll.
This Speedster and to a slightly lesser extent the newest Targa are the most ravishing Porsches to have ever been put into production.
When the world opens up again I think the speedster would be great for one of your tours Sam ..... especially with cockpit cameras being able to see out 360 degrees ...
I was never a convertible fan but now this sexy masterpiece is my dream car😍
Love the intro
I'd still take GT3 touring. Cheaper, looks better and you can drive it all year round.
Great review!! Love the vids as always!! Great new dreamcar! 😍
When did you last drive a Caterham Sam? All the experience you describe here plus more. And I’m saying that as a GT3 owner 🙂. Great vid thanks
It's funny how sam a few years ago said that he never really liked Porsches and for the money would rather buy something Italian. And now he is almost this kind of Porsche guru 😂
GREAT review
Blowing the horn doesn't ever work lol.
Unless you have an old Ooga horn. 😁
@@drivenart2367 lol
That's what she said 😞
Rooftop down in the UK, got to have a warm hat that matches your seatbelts.
Great video Sam.
Enjoyed vlog but not sure on that model considering the rest of the market, but that's just me; you pays your money, you takes your choice!
You are so right man. It’s a beautiful car. I would love to own one.
Am I the only one that thinks the the Speedster isn’t as good looking as it should be? There’s like a lot of strange volume in above the area between the rear wheels and cabin.

Love this car!Very vintage feel...love it!
You were right on my doorstep and didn’t pop in for a cuppa! Slaughters are next village up from me!
Sam have you considered uploading in 4K at all? You have such great cinematography that youtube butchers at 1080p!
Top Vid Sam 🔥
This car is unbeleivable !
