Hello everyone! I am so excited to be sharing my new lecture series "Spring Forward Your Health!" with you all! This is the first lecture in the series. I apologize for the audio issues in this one, we have that all sorted for the next one! Take care!
I got few questions doctor 1. Ur FFR is based on normal blood flow? If it is, how u get the pressure comparison done( if all arteries are affected, or they may have some sort of blockages) 2. FFR can be found on Stress test or in some case it cannot be found. Like stress test can show no abnormalities 3. If 50% lesion(let's say on LCrX artery, with a FFR based on AI=0.8), you do stent or you perform DCB?
For step1, why I asked is..if u take blood pressure inside the arteries(assuming the arteries have blockages and blood flow is already bad in those). So that will be the baseline u taking or how u get the FFR rate to be based on
Last November Dr. J saved my life in the cath lab in Orlando. I got covid in 2022. It wasnt bad but it closed of my preexisting stents. Every other cardiologist wanted to take me straight to open heart surgery. Luckily I am in the field of cardiology. I decided that the terminal end of my Lad was too small for surgery. Dr J agreed and had me report to the cath Lab. He performed a very complex stenting procedure with intra arterial lithotripsy. Believe me. He is not only a gifted interventionalist but a beautiful human being. There is no way to thank him enough. I was barely able to walk into the hospital. After 3 months I am back in the gym bench pressing 300lbs. I really love this man. He is truely a gift to all of us

Dr. J your lectures are about 'whole body' health. I have watched everything that you post. It's an undertaking for sure BUT over the past few years, you've taught me more than I thought possible, given me the confidence to stand firm on my health choices and inspire me. You are a gift and I thank you from the bottom of my healthy ❤️
Same here! He's incredibly adorable and intelligent. His explanations are so clear and concise. May God bless this individual of science and medicine. #Pradip #Jamnadas #Cardiology #Florida
You are indeed. I wish he wasn't so far away I could have Dr. Nader Ali 100 miles or so away from me but I have no way to reach him. He is also an interventional cardiologist with thoughts very similar to Dr. Jamnadas. When my husband and son were under treatment at DeBakey at the downtown medical center I wish I had known about these doctors. The food at the hospital there is enough to finish off a sick person. One big sugar -carb catastrophe. Seed oil/grains and your choices between fruit juices and artificially sweetened sodas. Getting sick or sicker every week with more medicines added to counteract the earlier one's side effects.
I did a Echo in 2020 and my LV ejection friction was 58%. I just did another one in May 2024 and it was 45%. Should I be worried and can I get it back up. Started eating salads and walking for 20 minutes.
they are all burnt out, apaethic, and longhaulers from their shots, as well as love their power and profit too much to leave. It's really sad :( Many don't care.
I had a widow maker two years ago aged 64 and started to follow as much as I could the doctors advice with my diet. I am not a saint but restrict time eat five days a week. Cook my own food, salad for lunch, no bread, biscuits, cake, pasta, etc. No processed food, only eat out maybe once a month at most. Also, I use extra virgin coconut and olive oil in moderation and no snacks. My sins are a couple of beers at the weekend and a few glasses of red. I have a sweet tooth, so i do have a piece of 85% dark chocolate during the week and maybe a slice of cake at the weekends. I have never been offered any tests except echo cardiogram. No CT calcium etc. Things I have noticed myself are the following : I lost 24lbs, and this has allowed me to enjoy the gym three times a week. I work out for calories burnt per session and raise my heart beat to 140 to 150bpm three times. Usually, I'm there doing aerobics for an hour with a period of intensive work. When ot at the gym I stay active, do jobs for people I know and out doors. Physically, I feel improved. I have no dry cracked skin on knees and elbows, and my adult lifelong friend athletes foot, which I had suffered from for 40 years, has completely gone. My enflamed tonsils (again 40 years) have gone, and I never now get tonsil stones. I no longer get bleeding gums when I brush my teeth. I no longer have bleeding piles breaking out every few months. Numbness in my big toes has gone. My feeling is that even without confirmation of my health status by testing to a large degree, the body can find ways of showing the direction of travel. I do occasionally worry about not knowing, but good walks and keeping busy are their own remedy. Even if my arteries are calcified and will never improve the doctors advice has been I feel good for me. As for my own cardiologist, I feel he is a good man. He listens and encourages, but I guess he is limited to what he can offer. On balance, for a patient, I feel too much information can be both a good and a bad thing. I'm 66 now and I'm happy to have general good health as my goal. I would like to thank the good Doctor for his work and encourage those around him to follow the same direction.
@shotelco no I had a heart attack with a 100% blocked LAD. This is about the worst type of heart attack anyone can get with a very low chance of survival unless immediate medical intervention is given. Hence the name widowmaker
@@tonyprice1526 Understood. Just wanted to clarify. I had a CAC score of 1400, and my GP used the term "Widow maker" as well. Then this GP said "You are a ticking time bomb". Which freaked me out. At age 65, with ZERO hereditary heart problem history, and some 7 years ago I purposely lost 100 lbs. by eliminating ALL sugars, breads, simple carbs, ect., then 6/18 incremental fasting to get off that last 30lbs., this GP "referred" me to a cardiologist, who wanted me to get an angiogram. I asked him what the risk were of such an invasive procedure, vs. the risk of this CAC score. He said the CAC "indicated" a 4% chance of a "cardiovascular event" within the next 5 - 10 years, and the angiogram had a 1% chance of _inducing_ a heart attack, a 1% chance of _inducing_ a stroke, and a 1% chance of _inducing_ an embolism. So a 3% chance of something going South, just to see what the "blockage" may be. I declined. Did more homework. Found a NEW type of CT technology, just being rolled out commercially in 2023 called PCCT (Photon-Counting Computed Tomography ). Its a non-invasive SUPER-ultra-HIGH resolution 3D CT scan that can see past the "blooming" effects of calcium, and provide a very accurate view of any blockage, AND determine what state any Plaque may be in. I doubt even Dr. Jamnadas is aware of this technology. But certainly not these American witch doctors I have been dealing with. When the cardiologist suggested the angiogram, he looked at my chart and realized I was "self-pay" for this visit (The original cardiologist my GP referred me to NEVER responded to the referral). So Insurance ONLY pays for a referred specialist, and I had to find one myself. When this guy saw "self-pay" he asked, "How are you going to afford this $30,000 angiogram I want you to have" (ostensibly to pay the financing on his Yacht?). It is my _OPINION_ that Dr. Jamnadas makes a common sense argument; the root cause of Heart problems is lifestyle. I STRONGLY suggest anyone reading this far research PCCT themselves. Consider this: With respect to an extremely HIGH CAC score - competitive marathon runners have CAC scores sometimes above 4000. Yet their longevity is the same or better than most. Search "heart of stone" "calcium score", as its the stresses they put on their hearts during training and competition, which cause the damages, and subsequent healing that now shows a calcium in a CAC. I too was a competitive athlete, yet these --clowns-- I mean "physicians" never asked about my history. Doesn't mean they are wrong about my prognosis, but all they know is what they have known for the past 30 years, without ever seeking to learn anything new. There are ONLY 3 PCCT devices I have found installed in America at this time, and only ONE in Florida that will provide the scan without a "referral". A PCCT CT scanner will be installed at UCLA in late summer. An out-of-pocket PCCT scan is $1100 at the Florida location. At trip to Indonesia and back to get the PCCT is about the same all-in cost. There are perhaps 10 PCCT devices in Europe. So although novel, PCCT is available. Hopefully, Dr. Jamnadas actually reads these comments and looks into this tech himself. I wish you well, you're doing exactly the right thing in terms of mitigating any further damage to your cardiovascular system!
@@tonyprice1526did you get the 100% blocked LAD clear by advance angio plasty stent? i too currently have 100% blocked LAD but i developed collateral in the heart so no heart attack
In 2006 my husband age 54 died of an MI in the middle of the night. No symptoms. I'm a Nurse and did CPR and couldn't save him. Sad when there are no symptoms. Dr ordered a stress echo one year before. He never went because he worked 12 hours a day.

Your info is always great. I had on occasions several symptoms you mentioned. Cardiac PET scan and stress test show all is great, must be anxiety. I am 86.
I really appreciate your videos. I'm 57 female with a calcium score of 325. My score actually went down from 395 2 years ago! I did a CCTA and showed several spots of 70%+ blockage of my LAD. Just had a heart cath done and he did the pressure test of the blockages. They were 90 & 91. No stents. That's fascinating! I go in for my post procedure check up next week. What questions should I ask? I am getting more exercise and watching foods and toxins already. It's amazing how many toxins we are exposed to in everyday life. Thank you so much for your videos. I have learned so much and it gives me information to be my best advocate for my health.
It makes whole lots of sense now why our parents told us way of healthy life and cleaning of guts at certain intervals and no grain food diet at the every fortnight. This also indicates why my parents siblings lived over 93 years without any medication or visit to any doctor in India.
My brother who is on statin for his cholesterol went for a free cardiac check up here in Sydney and he passed his stress test with no symptoms. He then mentioned to his cardiologist that he wants to stop taking the statin as it's giving him joint pain, the cardiologist told him to have CT angiogram before stopping his statin. The CT angiogram showed his calcium score=68 and he has 90% blockage in his LAD and immediately put on Aspirin /Clopidogrel and he's booked for invasive angiogram in 2 weeks time . He's really nervous about it and so worried that they are going to stent his artery unnecessary so, I sent him this video , so he can ask about his FFR. Thank you Dr Jamnadas for this well-informed educational video. There are some doctors out there that will do unnecessary procedures just to get paid by the insurance or Medicare .
I’m in Cairns & I think my cardiologist is one of those who would do an unnecessary op. I’m going to go to & see another cardiologist who does the FFR CT.
My sister just had a stent put in her left main artery and it saved her life she is 74 years old just this morning and she's already feeling much better
I am getting a coronary CTA next week for mild chest pain while exercising. If my results come back with blockages, I’m going to share this lecture with my doctor and ask about FFR before getting any stents..
What happened with your CTA? I didn't see this video until now two days since released from 5 days in hospital see my comment above. I got a stent and really wonder if I needed one as never heard of FFR and no mention of that and little or no discussion before I was told and being wheeled to the angiogram lab... I also know they used dye both times so I guess it was a CT Angiogram.
good luck sharing it with your doctor.....they are in bed with their corporations and don't fight for the patient. Ex hospital nurse and traumatized patient and nurse. When you care, and they don't, it's a nightmare
Dear Dr. Pradip, You are God gift to humanity, very knowledgeable doctor of medicine, a kind and generous Guru spearding knowledge to mankind ( Gita Say best donation is to donate your knowledge). I listen to y Dr. Lallchand Kalra, MD. NYC
Im sure i found right here one who is a real life-supporting heart doctor; one who is really caring to resolve arterial blockages, and not the medical-industrial complex profit blockages he actually can help cause! I need you doctor, after triple bypass, and now im 73 and trying to not live stupidly, which is allot to learn and live. The Framingham Study agrees about inflammation, but beyond that, your approach does circles around them. Your approach is so on point, brilliant. Thank you so much, i pray my young cardiologist will watch this when i urge him to; a lot of system pressure is on doctors. I take no meds, and this is priceless help to myself for sure! God protect you is my prayer. ❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏
Wow this is what happened to me yesterday, went in for a possible stent, but my surgeon did FFR, RFR, CFR and IMR and I come out a happy bunny, no stent needed. On balance then the chest pain which drove me to the Dr in the first place is a good thing, as it is nature telling me to go easy and throttle back. I do have a blockage but it is manageable.
BUT most cardiologists do not do do that, they rush to put as many stents as possible because of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,the more the better for their bank account
In today's world where the blockage stneting js guided by hesrt physiological these instances are rare. Also new technology is on horizon. Also there are new fully dissolvable platforms where these stents dissappear after 1 to 2 years rather than leaving a permanent scaffold in the heart artery. Europe already uses it, not yet available in USA. MOST cardiologists use FFR to treat stable angina nowadays.
@@bhargavbhuva1805 IT is a new generation stent that dissolves away after doing scaffolding work for 1 year. So, no metal left inside the artery. Don't know the price since not yet fda approved in USA. IN INDIA MERES100 is a fully absorbable platform which is now available. I understand the sarcastic undertone but understand the coronary physiological before calling wolf.
This doc is really advanced on his approach. The only thing I question is the statement that only 75% restricts flow. How about Poisseulliuex s law?? I really like this. It’s the most physiological that I have seen on the entire UA-cam

Went to my cardiologist after palpitations, we did a battery of tests and had a CAC score of 50. I told him I was going to change my diet and lifestyle he said it wasn't enough. I quoted Dr. Jamnadas and said it was definitely associated with my gut issues. He said I was being biased in my search for information. Argued with him for 45 minutes and got a $900 bill for it. He's fired! Wish I lived close to Dr. Jamnadas!
I did the same. No plaque found anywhere. CAC score 0. I refused the statins as my HDL is high and my triglycerides low. I've always been on a low carb diet. It turns out I have a genetic condition in th av node. I'm waiting to see an electrophysiologist. Maybe I need ablation and pacing but I'll wait and see.
The heart doctor I saw just really wanna put me on heart CT! Without anything else he said the rest not relevant! … now I understand he just wanna stent me. Will go see other doctor now - thank you sir.
I sure wish you were my doctor, I had angioplasty done in my right leg 10 months ago, it was blocked. Sadly the blockage came back, it was significant again. My doctor gave me a stent 7 days ago, I’m in so much pain where the stent was placed, I wasn’t given anything for pain management except Tylenol. It doesn’t even touch the pain. I pray it doesn’t become blocked again I can’t take the pain. From listening to this, I’m sorry I got the stent. Thank you, this has told me so much about peripheral artery disease.
Thank you for all the information you have been providing! I have always had high cholesterol / LDL since i started testing 20 years ago and my PCP has always tried to push statins. I am able to improve the numbers some by diet and exercise but they never get down to 'normal'. My trig/hdl is 1.1, HgA1c is 5.6, CRP is 0.91 and I am south Asian. Finally going to a cardiologist who agreed to do a calcium score and particle size ( although he is also pushing statins). Hopefully my score is zero and he changes his mind about putting me on statins. Will soon find out !
@bulgarian_user unfortunately calcium score was 94. Have yet to visit cardiologist this week but looks like now I am left with no option but to start statin..😪

Thankyou.I'm learning from you what is happening to me. ❤
I am so blessed to have Dr Pradip as my DR.

I always get so excited to hear new Dr Pradip content. He's the best!

I love this guy....he has got a holistic approach to heart care
this is one of the best, THE BEST videos I've watched. EVER. Thank you Dr. Pradip Jamanadas
By "Widow maker", do you mean you had a CAC test and it showed a High score?

We are so glad to heard back here in YT a new fantastic lecture from Dr. Pradip / Thanks for sharing.
How are you doing today?
@@carol1123 thats great news, can i ask what symptoms she had ?

Amazing life changing talk. You're the best, thanks so much for your dedication to this
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, making it easy to understand and reassuring. Brilliant cardiologist.
omg that was awesome! well done! always excited to see a new vid from you
BUT most cardiologists do not do do that, they rush to put as many stents as possible because of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,the more the better for their bank account
I'm
so what do u think what is the price for this treatment 😂 more then double this is more costly then stent
Wow
